SSS Cosmic Policing System: Overpowered Cop's Odyssey

Chapter 107: Sky Scrapping Mega Mecha In Action

Roy glanced at the fluttering veil in his hands. The lady Lord had acted fast, and this was all he could get hold of.

His gaze raised, meeting his escaped prey. This time he saw her full, stunning facial features.

Eyes clear silver, hair jade black tied into a ponytail, lips tender and thin, lashes fluttering delicately.

A beauty that could make men go mad. It was no wonder she made sure to put on a veil.

Her beauty was delicate and especially provoking, especially now. Her slender hands clenched tight, she bit her lower lip delicately as her eyes betrayed emotions of pain, expectation… and fear.

Roy stood paralyzed. Not from her beauty — he already had some resistance to that after dealing with people like Vera, Ashley, and Layla.

But this… his stillness was the result of multiple storming emotions: confusion, shock, anger… and guilt.

Emotion provoked the past, emotions storming with it…

That day, he was only nineteen, still a rookie fresh from the police academy. He had just started putting his life together…

And naturally, he wanted to add the love of his life to this. He wanted to seal the deal. He wanted to propose.

They had been dating long since their middle school days, and their love was still as fresh as when it began. So he had full confidence she would say yes.

He was so sure… he was so confident.

He took her out for a fancy dinner, and the opportunity came. She went to the restroom, so he quickly began making preparations.

Never would he guess that that would be his last time seeing her.

He waited and waited. He called for help. They searched the entire building, but she was nowhere to be found.

He called her line, and it rang — on the floor right before the restroom.

He called her family… no news.

Was it possible… did she run away? But he refused to believe this, banishing the thought each time it surfaced.

He called her roommate — same result.

So he waited patiently. Every day, there wasn't a single day he didn't go back to the restaurant, sitting on that same chair, reserving it regardless of the cost…

For a year he sat at that same table.

He had filed a missing person report, which turned out with zero leads. He was even a prime suspect for her disappearance…

At the end, he decided to move on. He left that restaurant for the last time, deciding to put the past behind him and accept that she was gone…

But he couldn't still move on. Though his career was bright, getting promotion after promotion at work… his life felt hollow. And so he ended up being a recluse.

After all these years, he had almost forgotten about her. And today, here she was. They were reunited by fate or by coincidence.

She stood before him — Alstera Harrison… his long-lost fiancée.

Not only that, he grimaced as he stared at the screen blinking over her head:

[Nemesis Order: Bearer of the Order of Theft!!!]

Alstera remained still, her gaze glued to Roy, as she realized:

"He… still remembers me." Her heart churned with a tinge of happiness and bitterness.

Suddenly everything dimmed. Both parties had no choice but to move their gaze from each other to the skies.

The hammer blotted the skies, descending from the heavens, promising to ravage through the land and its Lord.

"That stupid bitch!!" Alstera cursed, throwing her gaze to the distant Lana — the source of this apocalyptic attack, who was levitating midair, her being coursing with a bronze shimmer…

This was a powerful skill of the Amazon Lord, called All-Encompassing Wrath.

This skill could only be activated when her anger had reached its peak. She could then funnel this pure and raw force into her weapon, making it colossal and letting it fall to devastate her enemies.

Alstera hesitated for a bit before gnashing her teeth and giving up, deciding to save herself.

Reality pulsed as she vanished…

Roy glanced back down to see that she was gone. He frowned in displeasure. To think after all this time she had nothing to say, and in the face of danger she just left… She had definitely changed. Well, he couldn't blame her — after all, he wasn't the same either.

He directed his gaze to the distant Lana, who was undoubtedly the source of this attack.

"I underestimated them too much…"

If he had struck her more heavily, or in a more vital and precise area, injuring her badly enough to kick her out of battle, this wouldn't have happened.

Well, now it was too late for regret. He had to deal with this attack, as it not only had him in its range but a good chunk of his territory and people too.

He was just about to make a move when he caught sight of a familiar figure ascending the skies.

Roy wondered:

"Is that Ethan? Come to think of it, two months have passed. He's definitely not on the same level as I left him, which means he should be able to…"

Space rippled behind Ethan as his mutated ether Mental Wave surged and drained drastically and quickly.

He was activating a skill he had never had to use before now, reaching for a type of summon he had never attempted before.

A summon called Sky-Scrapping Mega Mecha!!!

The wind raged, and an absurdly large rift formed in the sky. Falling from it was a mega figure.

Boooooom!

It landed on the ground, forming a mini valley in its wake. The earth rumbled and trembled from the landing. The shockwave clapped and blew through, but Roy and the two captains remained steady. Only the guards staggered from the pressurized kick of wind…

A humanoid creature… or construct came into sight.

A giant of steel and flesh, a culmination of tech and biology, stood shoulder to shoulder with the massive structure of the Aegis. Its eyes glowed pure, like two mini suns, as its head raised, cranking sounds ringing out like gears turning.

Ethan's hands raised, directing the summon, which mirrored its master's movements.

Two steel-made colossal hands rose into the air, wind blowing in response, creaks and hums of machinery ringing loud.

The two hands — sizes threatening to hold a mountain — actually met the falling attack.

Cracks, clanks, and creaks rang out as the weight of the strike bore down on the Mega creature, its knees and hips bending.

Cracks traveled from where it stood as the area slowly began to sink, even the earth struggling to bear the load.

A buzzing noise rang out as the monster's mechanized face — half flesh, half steel — opened wide… too wide.

A pulse of energy slowly charged from the depths of its mouth.
