SSS-Class Awakening: World Breaking Anomaly

Chapter 15: Skythorn Royal Family

Everything from magic to technology was simple when it came to the monster empire, and so was the royal palace.

The walls were thick enough to allow privacy and the structures were too simple compared to humans.

No decoration or fancy items could be seen around as Raphael walked through the halls, greeting the guards stationed in them.

He passed a door where those guards were not allowed in casually and finally, he arrived at his family's private space.

This area was split into five rooms, two for the children and one for him and his wife.

One simple kitchen and a bathroom. Besides that, there was a public reception where they usually gathered to feast or discuss things.

"How did the meeting go, honey?!" A woman's voice echoed through the reception, another Skythorn matching his appearance except for her long purple hair, two blue wings, and private areas.

She was his first wife, the one Taurus saved from the poisoning, thanks to time's interference.

"Oh dear, it went very well. Give me a moment, and I will you on with the children." Raphael spoke before leaving the reception.

"Elenora! Raian!" He went by their rooms, his voice loud enough to bring their attention. Soon, both went out following their father's voice and went out before greeting him.

"Come with me, I've some news for you." He spoke and they followed him to the reception, where their mother sat waiting for them.

Elenora was nearing five and Raian was twelve, and although they were young, they were taller and stronger than a newly awakened human.

Both had their blue wings out.

Raian liked leaving them out since he treated them like a symbol of strength while Elenora left them out since she couldn't retract them at her age.

The boy had what all the Skythron males had, two pointy purple horns replacing his hair.

The girl was a copy of her mother with the same hair and a tiny snake warping itself on her neck, acting like a necklace.

"If everything goes well, all of the great tribes will send five of their offspring to the human empire. Do you wish to go?" Raphael spoke, assuming both knew his efforts since the negotiations went on for so long.

Raian's expressionless face slowly changed, revealing a smile filled with excitement before nodding in agreement.

He was someone who liked competing, exploring, and flying, and peace certainly brought something unexpected to him.

"Yeeees. The faster I go, the better it will become!" Raian shouted a few moments later, his voice relaying his excitement to both of his parents.

"Hmm, are you sure? You won't be going there to fight, but to learn and study." Knowing his son, Raphael spoke immediately before explaining why the offspring might be sent to Tyran.

"Why? That's lame, but I still want to go!" The news discouraged him a bit, but fighting wasn't all he cared about as his parents thought.

It was just a hobby, not something he'd do everywhere he went.

"It's decided then. The first Skythorn spot is yours, but what about you, Elenora?" Raphael didn't dwell on it and moved his attention to his daughter.

Unlike Raian, Elnora was a little timid and more immature due to her age.

But with Eihwar and her past life lover being by her side, Raphael believed she would be completely fine there.

The main issue lay in her trust because unlike him, she had no memories of her past life.

She took her time, thinking about it carefully, and through the soul link, Eihwar sensed her thoughts.

"You should go, Elen," Eihwar spoke through the soul link, her soft voice ringing inside Elenora's ears.

She uncoiled herself before yawning lightly, followed by slithering down on Elenora's arms, to her lap.

"Huh, why?" The girl responded, surprised by Eihwar taking the initiative.

It was something so unfamiliar it was so rare to her.

"Because you are safer there," Eihwar responded as Elenora petted her head lovingly, something that would've guaranteed a painful bite to anyone else.

"I don't understand you, why would someone harm me here?!" Elenora responded, and her facial expressions revealed to her family what she was going through.

Raphael stared at her lovingly, wishing Eihwar succeeded in convincing her.

His enemies were dealt with, except for the mastermind herself and thus it was still risky for both of the children.

"That's meant to be a surprise, dear. But I guarantee you will enjoy your time over there." Although Eihwar chose not to reveal her past and Taurus' existence, she believed the boy would accompany her well.

As for herself and unlike Raphael, she knew Taurus had more lovers.

She knew he loved Elenor the most, but the matter lay in whether he was able to make all the girls friendly toward each other or not.

She closed her eyes, imagining Raphael's anger the moment he found out the truth.

Yet, she knew very well that he couldn't do a thing as the boy was a complete monster in his own right.

"I think I will as well go, farther," Elenora spoke then both of her parents released a sigh of relief.

"I believe you've made the right decision," Vanessa spoke before encouraging them to work hard.

She couldn't contain her excitement for the possibilities because she wanted the best, yet she felt restless from having to separate from her children.

"I will trust you with their safety, Eihwar," Raphael finally spoke, addressing the snake that nodded her head in approval.

"How would a critter protect them, honey?!" Vanessa spoke before laughing loudly, feeling that her husband's words were silly.

His family couldn't comprehend how or why since Eihwar couldn't be considered anything more than a critter at the moment.

"It's just a gut feeling, nothing much." He responded, choosing to leave this matter for the future to confirm his words.

His trust in Eihwar was beyond anything they could imagine, she was the one who revealed the traitors to him after their time traveling after all.

With the discussion finished, everyone returned to their occupation.

Meanwhile, Raphael took the chance to prepare for his leave since he was leading the whole thing.

He took the chance and stationed some guards picked by Eihwar personally to ensure his family's safety.

The season passed quickly and by the middle of the winter, the monster convoy began their march.
