SPIDER-MAN

Chapter 64: 64) And Then There Was Light

Peter looked away using his hand to shield his sight, but despite this, he became blind and no matter how much he tried to squint to see through he couldn't see a thing. His senses muffled.

The man slowly walked towards the two, confident that they couldn't do a single thing against him. The man giggled before throwing a punch towards Peter's chest.

Peter couldn't see a thing, peeping through his hand trying to keep them open despite the glaring light before being hit in the chest.

Compared to everything else that happened to Peter before this paled in comparisson as he threw a punch, hoping that it would land.

The man flinched as the punch barely missed his face before stepping back and going towards Shadow instead, moving towards her side. Neither of them could see as she kept her eyes closed and shielded herself the best she could.

"Shadow duck!" ordered Peter as he began to shoot his webs around him in a circle. The man looked at him confused as too what he hoped to acomplish as he grinned while shadow grunted.

Eventually one of Peter's webs landed on the man, who in his arrogance didn't realise his situation. Peter held out his hand to try and block the light running towards the man, before tumbling over the ducked shadow. As Peter started to fall to the ground as the man giggled at his failure, Peter used his hands to leap into the air and kick in the mans direction.

The man held up his arm to block as he was sent to the ground his arm now howling in pain as he groaned, holding it.

"What was that?" asked Shadow.

"That was proberly me, but I think I struke him?" replied Peter still squinted.

The light started to fade, and the twos sight returned to see the man standing in front of them. "You won't get that lucky again." said the man puffing for breath, before starting to glow once more.

Peter closed his eyes in response holding up his arms once again to try and fail at blocking the light. As soon as Peter tried to see his sense's haywired once again, so he closed his eyes once more and held his forehead as it felt like a migrane.

His eyes now completly shut but even then the light squeezed through, even if it was very dimmed compared to normal. His senses calmed down and the pain in his head started to quiet.

Peter could sense danger this time, heading directly towards his head and so he ducked. The man was baffled and stepped back in confusion.

"Impossible," he murmered under his breath. He tried again, this time a kick towards Peter's legs, which Peter stepped back to dodge. "LET'S SEE HOW LONG YOUR PETTY TRICK WILL LAST!" screamed the man in anger and denial.

"What's going on?" asked Shadow, sheilded her eyes before being met with a fist to the face as she fell to the ground.

"I'll get rid of you first!" exclaimed the man. He sat down on top of shadow placing his hands around her neck with a large grin.

"HELP!" she screamed before his hands stopped her from pleading anymore. No matter how much she struggled she could not overcome his strength. She tried to scream for Spider-Man but only she could hear it.

Peter looked towards the scream, "Shadow?" he asked confused to no reply. Peter shot a web in the direction, hitting nothing as it flew over the man. Peter was confused and started shoot webs all around him, trying to find her.

Peter tried and tried, ignorant to the fact she was slowly dying pratically in front of him.

Shadow started to flail at the man who shrugged her attempts off like nothing. She could no longer struggle as her arms fell to the ground.

The man eyes were full of exstasy as Shadow slowly started to die in the grip of his hands.

The man felt something on his back and looked behind him to a line of web from Spider-Man's hand attached to his back.

Peter pulled backwards, pulling the man off of Shadow who coughed in relief as she could finally breath again.

The man was now looking towards the sky and as he tried to get up he could a fist falling towards him. Peter punched down right into the ground leaving a small crater on the concete road.

The man managed to move his head out the way, his expression full of fear as he scrambled back up to his feet and eyes stared at the crater. "What the hell are you?" he asked, scared.

"You really are stupid," replied Peter shooting a web towards the voice. The man looked down at the web that latched onto his chest before looking back at Spider-Man.

Peter pulled once more, sending the man flying towards him, and punched knocking the man out instantly. The man fell to the ground and the light exuding from head flickered like a light switch before turning off completly.

Peter opened his eyes and blinked, adjusting himself to seeing again. "You ok Shadow?" he asked walking towards her and kneeling next to her.

Shadow laid on the ground an sighed in relief, "Thank you, I can't wait to kill that son of a bitch!" she replied trying to get back up.

"Woah, hold your horses. Let's forget about murder and focus on your recovery." replied Peter helping and laying her against a wall.

"Thanks," she sighed in response.

"No problem, but I should head over to 3D-Man. I can't let him deal with Vulcan alone!" replied Peter rising to feet once more.

"Yeah, you do that," replied Shadow looking towards the sky.

Peter placed the mans body over his shoulder and fully webbed him on a roof, to make sure Shadow didn't mutilate him when she recovered.

Peter looked over the streets of New York and how grey and depressing it looked now. "How's Aunt May doing?" wondered Peter in a trance before swinging away, towards Vulcan.
