On a crystal clear ocean that had all manner of creature's living their lives or fighting for survival as a yellow sun with a orange hue bathed them in its warmth a ship surrounded by a couple others were anchored just out side a small lush island with beautiful colored palm-like tree growing from the ground

On the biggest ship with a well sculpted figure of a bird as it's head a couple of it's crew who wore mostly white shirts with rips in them their tight pants didn't fair any better a few even had banana's on their heads but most surprisingly they weren't all human every other person was from a different race

" the captain is taking longer then usual flitch do you think he finally found what he was looking for finally " a human said to his crew mate who looked like a human too if it wasn't for his blue skin with tiny scales on it or the gills flaring on his neck

The gilled man kept looking at the island as he answered " I don't know he's always searching island but never finds anything just be ready I'd something happens "

A few more moments past in peace when the island and the ships started to quack lightly slowly growing strong

In the distance they saw palm trees topple in a line towards the shore flitch turned to the man beside him tell him to get everyone ready soon a whistle was heard alerting everyone

Not long after that a hodded figure appeared running towards the ships kicking up a bunch of sand due to his speed

he was waving his hands and pointing behind him but nobody heard him the final tree fell revealing what was chasing the hodded person it was a beast covered in feathers with powerful thick legs it stood up right on with short arms on its torso that seemed useless

Getting sight of it's pretty the creature let out a mighty roar sending sand everywhere the roar disoriented the man running even making the ships shake a little

" ...fire!" Flitch didn't waste time letting the beast get to his captain by having the ships open fire on it with their cannons

The creature was momentarily staggered by the cannons but not seriously damaged still it was enough for it's prey to get away into the ocean

letting out a roar of frustration the beast turned around smacking it's tail on the ground heading back were it came from

" fhew...that was close thanks flitch " their captain panted dripping with water " your lucky I kept everyone ready or you would half way through that beasts intestines " flitch said frowning at his captain who refused to take off his hodded garments

The captain lowered his hood reveal a fairly handsome young man in his twenty's with blonde hair and blue eyes

Smiling he patted flitch on the back " and that's why you're my first mate I can always count on you " the blonde man went over to the steering wheel and grabbed " now raise the anchor an lower the sails back on our hunt we go"

Grumbling to himself flitch stood beside his captain relaying his orders to the rest of the crew soon the small fleet of ships were moving again a few hours later they heard a yell

soon a man with a pair of colorful feathered wings on his back gently landed in front of flitch pointing in a out to sea a little to the left of their ship " captain you may want to see this "

Taking the spy glass he was given he looked were both of them were pointing he to a second to find it but when he did he saw a medium sized boat going fairly fast with three people on it two were humans the last one was a female beastmen but that wasn't important

" wha..." reaching to his side he pulled out a rolled up piece of paper activating it he looked at the managram then the boat

Then the managram then the boat for one last time " huh...get into range and fire some cannons try and get them to slow down " just like that they were on pursuit and just like he ordered the ships opened fire as soon as they were able sending cannon balls around the boat

All of them got an anonymous feeling when the boat came to a stop suddenly hearing scraping he turned to see a somewhat chubby and short man in a coat clad in lightning with a staff gently floating behind him skid across the deck of the ship slamming into one of his crew knocking them overboard coming to a stop after hitting the side of the ship

" shit...sorry my bad I knew I shouldn't have done it but I did anyway " the stanger man said looking overboard

Everyone on board drew their weapons pointing them at the intruder which mostly consisted of sword and flintlock " umm...take me to your leader "

I had my hands up as I looked around a little surprised to see pirates in this word I teleported here wanting to speak to the captain in hopes of avoiding some thing messy but my element was disturbed for some reason an I accidentally hit one of there crew members overboard ' I hope they don't hold it against me'

Suddenly I dodge to the side having a sharp blade of wind miss be by a hair " I guess they do " I snapped my fingers but the instant I do my mouth filled with blood making spit it up

But worst of all time didn't stop "fuck I really need to figure this out " but then a stranger thought entered my head ' a object in motion must stay in motion '

' is the sea messing with my ability to control and move through space ' everyone was confused why I was hurt since the attack seemed to miss

" sorry but I just want your head nothing personal the lads and I need the money honestly didn't think you would hand your self over to us "

a human with blond hair dressed in a hooded garment similar to François's but covered in flintlocks made his way in front of me holding two cutlass sword swirling with wind element " so I guess that's a no too parlay "

I reached over my head pulling my mask down drawing a chuckle from the captain " a little to on the nose don't you think "

I looked him up and down " isn't that the pot calling the cattle black your going to tell me your name isn't Edward " he looked away lowering his hood embarrassed having met someone who knows who their persona is based on

" fuck you!" He lashed out with his swords making a X blade of wind fly at me

Off to the side flitch watched the banter with curiosity it was a little weird for their captain to lose composer like that but when the fight started he realized with a bit of horror the opponent was a traveler as well when he pulled down a skull mask it was a similar thing the captain did before engaging in combat so he pulled back his men not wanting them to get killed senselessly

Travelers were a powerful existence if this one was as strong as their captain then it was best to stay out of it

the fight was furious the man that appeared on their ship started turning into a blue bolt of lightning dodging the near invisible and incredible fast attacks of their captain before retaliating with his own

His captain wasn't a easy person to kill either or they wouldn't have came as far as they have liberating the people they have

So he was able to use burst of wind to get out of the way of attacks while enhancing his own

The fight was at a stand still until two swords went fly to the side flitch wasn't sure how the captain got disarmed both of the men had been moving to fast for him to keep up with but luckily he wasn't the only one the man's staff was behind him once again it seemed like he was unable to hold it judging by the blood dripping from his fingers

Bursting backward across the deck Edward pulled out two flintlocks from the gun belt on his body firing them then pulled out another two after dropping those firing them one after the other

i quickly brought up my Gauntlets extending the hidden blade within and slashed the bullets apart but while I was waiting for the next barrage it didn't come I looked at him confused when noticed he was looking at my Gauntlets specifically the hidden blades

" where did you get those" he asked with curiosity I tilted my head " I got them from my wife's friend ? " Edward seemed thrilled to hear that

" I knew it I hoped they existed in this world I was just searching in the wrong spot...can you tell me we're they are " I smirked see this as a opportunity

" honestly no...but I could introduce you to someone who can in exchange for a couple things " he looked at me with caution " what do you want " I took a couple steps forward

" first I would like you to stop trying to kill me and my friends don't thing I didn't notice you were waiting for them to get closer " he looked surprised but nodded waving for his men to stand down

" and second I have a proposal for you...I will open some trade routes soon with the beast empire to my growing town and I couldn't think of someone better then you to protect those routes you will of course still be payed for this what do you say "

" will I still have my freedom " he asked after thinking " yes all I ask is that you protect the routes from anyone with bad intentions how you do that is up to you I'll even help fund a proper fleet for you"

" well it's hard to turn that down" Edward said smiling holding out his hand I took it giving a shake
