NOVEL NEXT Chapter 27: Emily
Elise and I shot up in the bed standing at the end of the bed a little girl with brown hair with gunmetal silver tips her eyes were blue with green irises which were vertical like a cats she had tan skin with pink scales on most her body except her hands, feet and most her face just two thin scales under her eyes like mascara her ears were slightly pointy like James
I looked at the little girl who seems to be about five overall she looked like if Elise and I had a daughter if you took away the scales and the two pink wings sprouting out her back they looked big enough for her to use them
Elise and I looked at each other then we smiled we always talked about having kids at some point we just knew now wasn't the time but it seems we don't have a choice now we aren't going to look a gift horse in the mouth plus I feel she could use something like this I could see a single tear run down her face as she climbed over to get off the bed she grabbed our daughter picking her up " come on let's get cleaned up let papa rest a little more" our daughter nods " ok momma"
Elise smiled beautifuly taking her to the bathroom it had been a whole month since I had seen that smile I let out a relaxed sigh with a smile closing my eyes again I must have dozed off because Elise woke me up again " I'm going to go back to my room so I can fit her into some of my old clothes " I nod to her getting up I kissed her before hugging our daughter who happily hugged me back
" I'll see you guys at breakfast then " she nodded then they left
I took a shower and got dressed making my way to the dining hall outside it Elise and our daughter were there I came over to them look at the little girl I saw she was wearing a flower dress like a dress made of literal flowers it was cute on her I looked at Elise
" do you have a name picked out " I asked her we talked about what we would name our kids a little bit she nodded turning to our daughter they looked at each other with love
" your name is Emily 'elvana' murdan our first child " Elise said hugging our daughter I wanted to get in on it to I hugged both of them we were like that for a couple minutes looking like a happy little family until we heard some crying looking down we saw Emily rubbing her eyes crying " what's wrong little one" I asked her She looked up with tears streaking down her face " I love you thank you for accepting me "
Looking at her our hearts melted " we love you too little on of course we would accept you are our daughter aren't you " she nodded quickly " I am your daughter I am Emily 'elvana' murdan " she said hugging us tighter I picked her up after that " you are about to meet your grandparents are you excited " I asked her She nods wiping her tears away Elise came over to explain something she could do to make a proper impression " ok momma ill try " Emily said Elise pat her head
I put Emily down before we walk in the king, queen and zamel stared at us confused our daughter let go of our hands walking in front of her she did a awkward curtsy " I'm Emily ' elvana' murdan it's nice to meet my grandparents " she said nervously then walked back hiding behind us " you did good little one" I say to her patting her head
Everyone just stared at us not saying anything for sometime to a point we got honestly a little scared moving Emily more behind us in case something happens...the queen finally stood up walked over to she looked at Emily then back to us with a smile " can I see her hand please" the queen said holding out her hand we looked at Emily she was hesitant to but eventually did give her hand
The queen took a wooden needle with a engraving on it with a rune " this is going to sting a little bit" she stabbed the wooden needle into hand Emily let out a hiss of pain I clutch my fist a little but Elise put her hand on mine making me relax when the queen pulled out the needle there was a little glob of blood on the tip which got absorbed by it a couple seconds later the rune shined brightly see this the queens mouth went open in shock she looked at Emily with a smile picking her up spinning her around then hugged her
" forgive this grandmother of yours I just needed to be sure let grandma make it up to I'll make you something sweet for lunch how does that sound " Emily nodded the queen chucked carrying Emily back to her chair to feed her seeing this was shocking what a switch " excuse me I need to find out how this happened " zamel said getting up to go back to his study
We started eating while Emily sat on the queen's lap being fed by her happily the king on the other hand still wasn't sure what to make of this situation after we all were done eating Elise grabbed Emily then we left to go see Leon to get our daughter some clothes
outside the dining room lazza was the only one there kal and James go out every couple days to clean up any remaining slavers after the fortress the chain of communication was broken with it we want to keep that way until we are able to clear most of them out so they go out ever couple days hitting areas that still have activity the king even granted both of them a small squad to work under them to help clear out the slavers so far it has been going great
Lazza looked at us with a surprised look
" who is the little girl" she asked we smiled at while holding Emily's hand " she is our daughter" Elise told her she looks at me then Elise finally Emily " did you guys adopt " we shook our head's she looked very confused
"That's not how things work you two realize this right " we both nod " yes we know it weird also could be very dangerous accepting her as our daughter was also part of a test Elise could tell if she meant to hurt us isn't " I said to lazza Elise nodded " yes if she did have bad intentions I would be able to tell but all I see from her is a longing to be a family she has love for us she fears our rejection of her she is our daughter I'm sure of it a mother knows her child this is my child " Elise said with serious tone
Lazza looked at or resolute expression and bowed " if that is what you say my queen I will not doubt you " she said kneeling to get on eye level with our daughter " this knight of kantal greets the first princess of my king and queen I swear to always protect you little princess "Emily saw this it touched her heart walking forward she hugged lazza she hugged back
after that we made our way to Leon's on the way there we got a lot confused and shocked looks at us since Elise was carrying Emily as she hugged her neck laying her head on Elise's shoulder with her eyes close when we get to Leon's he was asleep I knocked on the desk he opened his eyes " it's you guy's again what do you want this time"
Elise points to Emily " we want to get some clothes made for our daughter " his eyes went wide then back to normal " fine come over here little girl " he said Emily looked at Elise seeing he nod she went over to him
He took her measurements then looked at Elise she sighed place a pouch of gold on the table leon smiled at the gold " come back in a couple days I should have some sets done" he said Elise looked at him " but we need clothes now at least some underwear for her" Leon smirked " well you could look around and buy something premade" she looked at him with a deep frown shaking his head he went into the back of his shop
About ten minutes later he came back with some underwear and a normal looking shirt at least for elven standards " don't say I never did anything for you " he said as handed over the clothes Elise looked at them then nodded "thank you Leon " she said as she took Emily to a changing room then came back out with our daughter in the more simple clothes but they fit her perfectly plus her wings could now poke out to stretch and use
I looked at them for a little bit unable to really process we had a daughter now it was wonderful seeing them together
