Chapter 22: Keep Victor safe
Valery had a lot of things to do from fixing her food problem to fixing her security problem.
As well as start recruiting people to her side, she may be on Stelle's side, but if what the director gave her can change that then it's only a matter of time.
Valery looked at the door, as a Training Master she could improve the door and make it so that if someone were to invade she could perfectly generate a defense system that would attract the academy's supervisors.
It was not difficult to do so the problem is....
Valery's gaze darkened and he bit his thumbnail hard.
Obtaining the room modification permits, Valery once obtained the room modification permit a long time ago. But of course that was in her previous years, of course now that she has returned to the academy that permission doesn't work for her.
She would have to ask for permission again hoping that she will get it again but much faster...
She doesn't want to spend the next few years in an insecure manner....
She will have to go to Professor Coin, to ask for permission or see if she can make the change without asking for permission.
She can't do anything about the walls, she and no one else can do anything about these walls, they are very tough and she has to do something exceptional to get through this wall.
I looked at the door and tried to see what I could do to create a suggestion system in the door that would not be too noticeable.
Valery looked at it for a while, she ran her fingers over the door multiple times, she imagined several times systems that could work. But they not only had to work, they had to meet perfect parameters.
It has to prevent the invader from entering.
It has to attract the attention of the supervisors.
In addition, it has to be simple to remove and install.
When I touched the door, I noticed that there was a small margin where the door frame protrudes inward, enough to make a security bar type lock. Which in its forced movement will drop silver bells, plus you can either drill a hole in the wall or try to drill a hole deep enough to put the lock in.
Here is where you need permission, without that permission you can't ask a teacher to help you make the hole.
She sighed and looked at Victor. In the end it is good that he is here to distract her a little.
Valery left her room, still taking advantage of the time before classes started, and went straight to Professor Coin's room.
In the hallway she heard several vampires talking, she looked at some young vampires she didn't have time to see, but she didn't pay much attention to them either.
He paid attention to the vampires who were his age, looked at who they were meeting or who they were talking to, being so close to the teacher's area no one could do anything like the night before.
All were well behaved, talking in a roundabout way, with their tongues sharp or full of flowers. But still Valery pointed at each of the gurps he saw, gradually noticing some large gurps and some very small ones.
The smaller ones she sensed that sooner or later they would dissolve, just like her own. With Stelle and Katerin, especially as they were low ranking nobles. But as long as no other nobles paid attention to them they would not dissolve in the near future.
On the way he met Baron Icerain, a Baron close to her territory, he was with another Viscount who is not far from his territory but not close to Valery's territory either.
Near Valery's territory there are three viscounts, but the closest one is Greenwood, the one of Stelle.
When he arrived at the teachers' area, the place was less crowded but no less noisy.
The professors are vampires with accomplishments in the world, some of whom have no territory. The professors are not vampires who will pledge allegiance, but neither are they interested in outside politics.
But to all there are exceptions.
Professor Coin is one, she with her achievements in forming an economy in the vampire world. She is more than qualified to be a professor in the academy, but she has an open territory and is not isolated from the world.
The professor who teaches transformation is an example of an isolated territory.
Yet Professor Coin is allowed to teach, for a fixed term, not permanent like others.
For that reason the teacher had left and came back when her class returned to the academy, as their first and only group she took a liking to them. Of course the situation the world is in is not very favorable.
x-x-x-x-x
Professor Coin's room smells like metal.
Upon requesting permission to enter and being greeted, Valery enters the room.
Seeing the teacher counting each of the coins.
Not only that, but also looking at her imperfections.
The vampire world used to use coins in the past, but now, for the past 50 years, they have switched to cash.
Of course, Professor Conin was in charge of that, if it wasn't for the fact that vampires are not fans of technology. They would have switched to credit cards as well, yet Professor Coin has managed to solve that problem.
Of course, it's still not very popular and not very well known.
Anyway...
Valery having interrupted her teacher, she looked at her curiously.
"What's wrong Valery?"
"Are you coming to take an extra class? I'm sure that if you want to in the next three years you could become a Grand Master Builder."
"No, I'm sorry, teacher, that's not why I'm
here."
Professor Coin's gaze immediately turned serious.
"I don't get involved in politics Valery, so I hope that's not why you're here."
"Not at all teacher, I didn't even think about it for a moment. I came to ask for permission to change the door of my room."
Professor Coin looked at her for a moment, suspicious of her words.
"Well, I can give it to you... no one has ever come for such a permission even so I can give it to you... give me 1 day."
"Can't you give it to me at once?"
At his words Professor Coin frowned, but could only sigh. She opened a drawer on her desk where she began to pick up a stack of papers.
She began to fill out each of the items on the paper, and in 20 minutes she was done.
"Remember to show it to your area supervisor," Professor Coin reminded her.
Valery took the paper and read its contents before smiling gratefully at the professor.
"Thank you, have a good time Professor Coin."
