Chapter 85: Clearing the Game (Request for Continued Reading)
Seeing Kreya's healthy stats on the display, Meizike felt relieved.
He came to Longbei's side, crouched down, and began checking Longbei's injuries, most of which were due to burns from the black flame.
"Here, drink this."
After checking his injuries, Meizike took out three different potions from his belt and handed them to him, telling him to drink them all at once.
Longbei, now the injured one, took the three potions handed to him by Meizike and drank them all in one go.
Seeing him drink them all, Meizike said, "I'm going to start treating your injuries now. It might hurt a bit, bear with it."
"Come on, I'm an Iron Guard, how could I fear a little pain?"
Some of Longbei's burns had already healed by now, but the skin on those spots had been damaged, looking somewhat hideous and ugly.
Meizike took out a potion and dripped it onto the healed areas.
"Ugh."
Longbei couldn't help but let out a cry of pain, as the previously healed burn areas felt like a layer of skin was being scraped off with a small knife, exposing raw flesh.
Then, Meizike controlled the red particles, making them flow into Longbei's wounds.
In fact, Longbei's injuries had already begun healing due to his strong physique, but the healing was slow, and the skin could not perfectly regenerate, leaving unsightly scars and possibly impairing skin function.
As the red particles flowed in, the potion he had just drunk was also activated within his body.
The skin on the wound began to regenerate, with some flesh strands growing out and intertwining.
Longbei now felt his whole body was itching, yet he couldn't scratch it with his hands and could only endure it silently.
At this moment, Kane had already brought Kreya over, standing aside without disturbing Meizike's treatment.
When the red particles were nearly used up, Longbei's skin had completely regrown, though its color was slightly different from the surrounding skin.
Now, everyone's injuries had mostly been healed.
Kane looked at his squad, now all safe, and felt a weight lifted from his heart.
The leader's strength this time clearly didn't match this dungeon, from the moment the angel appeared, she kept gazing at Kane.
She kept calling Kane 'Warrior', making it hard not to associate it with his Mist Badge. However, this angel, whether regular or corrupted, spoke ambiguously, leaving only vague information.
"It's good to be alive."
Kreya looked around and suddenly sighed.
Although her injuries had healed, the feeling of being hurt felt like a dream.
But her clear memory did not forget the angel's sword strike; she still remembered it vividly.
Looking at the Centaur beside him, Kane opened his mouth to say something but was immediately stopped by her.
"No need to say anything. If you got hurt, it would truly be my shame; I promised to stand in front of you."
She said this before removing her hand from Kane's mouth.
"When I get back, I must learn a few tricks from my brother. I couldn't control the leader, though I assured myself I could during recruitment. How embarrassing."
Even the usually lively Longbei now seemed a bit downcast.
Meizike remained silent, but his fist clenched tightly around the potion in his hand.
As the team's healer, he couldn't even heal his teammates' injuries, leaving them lingering at death's door.
Ultimately, it was still the enemy's potion that pulled her back.
This angel was not something a Copper-level team could handle; even a Silver-level team might struggle.
Seeing everyone's spirits a bit low, Kane stepped forward and said, "Brothers, one failure like this is enough. Believe me, there won't be a next time."
This was said for their sake, and for his own as well.
After speaking, he directly led everyone to the treasure chest in the center.
Longbei and the others tidied their emotions and followed; now was not the time to be glum.
No wonder it's the final chest; the entire chest is nearly as big as Kane. However, there was no pile of gold coins around this time.
It might be because those noisy spectators had all turned into weapons earlier.
Looking at the massive gold treasure chest in front of him, adorned with ornate patterns and large gemstones, it was extremely luxurious.
Kane placed his hand on the lid, suddenly turning to the others behind him, saying, "Won't you come help me open it?"
Kreya and the others behind him all smiled.
[Bond with Kreya Sublimation]
[Bond with Longbei Link]
[Bond with Meizike Link]
Ignoring the system notifications, five pairs of hands placed on the lid together, they all applied force to pry it open.
The chest transformed into an energy mass, not dissipating, but dividing into four parts that integrated into each of their bodies.
Kane clearly felt his physical fitness and internal magic power both enhanced.
This is the enhancement of physical fitness after conquering a dungeon of equivalent strength.
As the chest disappeared, twelve beams of light shot out from inside.
These were the magic items from the chest.
Kane looked at everyone and said, "Let's collect them first; we'll identify them when we get back."
Everyone nodded in agreement; besides Kreya, they were all feeling quite exhausted.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes."
After hearing the response, Kane chose to return.
Back on the teleportation platform, they headed straight to the Big Gold Tooth Tavern.
They now just wanted a good meal and a good sleep.
The high-intensity battle and injuries had left them physically exhausted and powerless.
It was only the afternoon when they entered the tavern, and they saw Burton sitting in the tavern's hall.
The table before him was filled with a variety of exquisite dishes.
When he saw Kane and the others return, a smile appeared on his face.
"Hahaha, I guessed you'd be back around this time. Come and eat."
He waved to them, signaling them over.
Now, Kane and the others were starving, so without any formality, they sat down and started eating.
In fact, when Kane and the others left not long after, Burton had already prepared the food, waiting by the table for their return.
Though he knew their strength, he had seen many strong teams and talented young people fall in dungeons.
This included some Warriors of the Mist.
When he saw Kane and the others actually return, he finally felt at ease.
Even though Kane's group seemed fine, he could see at a glance that this team had taken quite a beating.
But that's what relieved him; as long as they weren't dead, as long as they still had life, all hardships and setbacks would become stepping stones for their progress.
Even if they were missing limbs, he could ensure these young people could recover perfectly.
Once everyone finished eating.
Kane said, "Let's disband and rest first. Tomorrow morning, recover your state and remember to gather at the tavern."
After speaking, the group dispersed to their rooms to rest.
Burton grabbed Longbei, who was about to leave.
"Tell me about it, since you look so glum."
Longbei helplessly followed Burton to sit by the bar.
He then recounted his team's experiences in the dungeon.
When he heard the dungeon's leader was an angel, his brow furrowed.
He then took out a booklet from his own space equipment and threw it to Longbei.
"These are my combat insights, all my life's learning and techniques, take it and study well, you fool."
With that, he no longer paid attention to his brother and left the tavern.
