Chapter 84: Grief, Despair, Dawn (Please Follow)
"You mangy beast!"
Longbei climbed out of the pit, surrounded by black flames, displaying pain as he furiously swung his long halberd towards the angel.
Unfortunately, the angel now had eyes only for Kreya, and did not relent in her attacks.
Kreya's one hand was wrapped in chains, the other had lost sensation, and she was powerless to fend off this attack.
The blade struck her fiercely, blood splattering, yet her right hand still gripped the chains tightly.
Longbei descended from the sky, his long halberd crashing against the shield, emitting visible sound waves.
The dwarf's resentful strike finally shattered the angel's shield.
On the brink of being consumed by fury, Kane fiercely pulled the trigger in his hand.
Then he charged forth.
The massive crossbow arrow instantly pierced through the angel's back, pinning her to the ground.
Yet she did not die, struggling to rise.
"Longbei! Throw me into the sky!"
Kane charged forward, shouting at Longbei, as Cotton Candy flew out of his pocket and attached to him.
Hearing the words, Longbei crouched down, muscles swelling as Kane stood on his hand, hurling him into the sky with force.
With Cotton Candy's [Cloud Attachment] lightening Kane's weight, Longbei's strength propelled him straight into the high air.
Before ascending, Kane had already linked himself to the angel with spider silk.
He raised his long spear along the spider silk, pulling himself towards the angel on the ground, as the arrow holding her was about to dissipate.
At this moment, Cotton Candy floated out of Kane's body once more.
[Traitor]'s mark had long been set on the angel.
Currently, the Shielding the Sky's damage to her was [Moderate Anti-Magic-Divine]
"Die for me!"
Kane's mind was already filled with rage, now frantically unleashed into this attack.
"Boom!"
Kane thrust his long spear at the angel's position, piercing through her skull the moment the arrow dissipated, spraying liquid mixed with fragments.
The impact brought a fierce sound, with dust covering the surroundings.
Longbei, who had tossed Kane into the sky, could no longer maintain his form, gradually shrinking back to his original shape.
The flames attached to him flickered in the wind, gradually extinguishing, revealing his body covered in burn marks.
Looking at the disappearing flames, Longbei showed a joyful smile.
A potion bottle fell through the smoke onto Longbei, the cap opened, and red particles surged into his body.
Kane rushed out from the smoke, arriving at the place where Kreya had fallen.
Upon Kane's arrival, Meizike and Yoyo were already tending to Kreya.
Longbei also dashed through the smoke from the other side.
Everyone gathered around Kreya.
An anatomical diagram of a centaur appeared before Meizike, projected by Yoyo.
It clearly marked Kreya's injuries and the severity of her wounds.
One could clearly see Kreya's left arm and the front two legs had severe fractures, with the bones completely misaligned.
But the truly fatal injury was a massive wound extending from her abdomen to the foreleg of her horse body, deep enough to reveal bone and even the pulsation of internal organs.
Meizike controlled the red particles to enter Kreya's body, precisely repairing the massive wound.
He was completely focused, with sweat dripping furiously from his face.
Kreya was lying horizontally on the ground, her crown having fallen off, and her red hair covering her face.
Beneath her was a large pool of blood, with traces still oozing from her wound, though it was decreasing alongside the treatment.
Kane wanted to bandage her, but without Meizike's command, no one dared to intervene recklessly.
He could only remain kneeling beside Kreya's body, staring at her waxy pale face, brushing her red hair aside.
Looking at her right hand holding the chains, Kane wanted to remove them but found them immovable—Kreya was still gripping them tightly.
Reaching out to hold her right hand, Kreya seemed to sense it and loosened her grip on the chains.
[Resentful]
[Chains]
[Color: Silver]
[Attributes: Moderately Strong]
[Skills: Enmity] (Wrap the chains around the enemy, causing them to harbor enmity towards you. This skill has very high priority.)
[Description: Harbor enmity towards me, then engage in battle.]
No wonder the angel, who had been targeting Kane, suddenly turned towards Kreya.
The angel's death dispelled Kane's rage, but remorse and guilt surged like a tide into his heart.
Now, he could only watch, unable to do anything.
"Let me try."
A gentle and ethereal voice suddenly sounded.
Upon hearing the voice behind them, Kane and Longbei instantly turned, weapons raised towards the direction of the sound.
They had just heard this voice.
A breeze blew past, scattering the dust, revealing the origin of the voice.
It was the angel who had plunged Kane and his companions into a tough battle.
Yet he had just slain her; her fractured corpse, like the previous monsters, turned into blue particles—there was a treasure chest erected in the middle of the arena now.
Kane had no time to think, instantly activating his launcher—annihilation mode.
"Don't panic; I harbor no malice."
With ease, she caught Kane's attack, holding the translucent crossbow arrow in her hand.
It appeared incredibly casual and relaxed.
Kane tightened his grip on his weapon, despair enveloping his heart, suffocating him.
With the angel's current display, annihilating the already wounded group seemed effortless.
Seeing Kane's reaction, the angel revealed an enchanting smile.
Then she waved her hands, sending two items flying towards Kane.
"Follow the guidance, warrior, and I shall personally crown you."
After saying this, a white mist emerged from the void, enveloping her.
As the mist retreated, she was no longer there.
Kane quickly began assessing the items in his hands, starting with a potion.
[Dream of Purity]
[Consumable]
[Color: Silver]
[Attributes: Transfer negatives into dreams]
[Description: A product of dreams, able to shift injuries and negative states encountered in reality into the dream.]
Kane did not care for the other item but immediately went to Kreya's side.
Opening the potion, he poured it directly into her mouth.
Witnessing Kane's actions, Meizike did not cease his efforts, not even the angel's resurrection could stop him.
Albeit the angel had vanished, Longbei remained vigilant of the surroundings.
All visible injuries on Kreya's exterior were enveloped in white bubbles, then disappeared.
Once all the injuries vanished, she opened her eyes.
Yoyo was also scanning beside her.
Seeing Kreya open her eyes, Kane quickly asked, "How do you feel? Is there still any discomfort?"
Kreya extended her hand, anxiously touching where her abdominal wound had been.
Feeling smooth skin, she breathed a sigh of relief, then stood shakily.
"I feel like I was just dreaming, severely hurt in that dream, but when I woke, the wounds were gone."
Yoyo ran over and projected Kreya's current physical condition into the air.
The images showed that the centaur was now completely healthy.
