Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons

Chapter 124 Hidden Tunnel

In the sky, Kane was watching a large ruin ahead with his eyes wide open.

After traveling for so long, they finally encountered another large ruin. Kane was now using Eagle Eye, carefully observing the situation inside the ruins.

Judging by the magic reactions scattered throughout the ruins, there are no creatures beyond the expected range.

"Cotton Candy, fly down."

Feeling that the reconnaissance was about done, Kane rode Cotton Candy and flew down towards the team below.

Kreya, below, stopped moving forward immediately when she saw Kane coming down, waiting in place for Kane's information.

"How is it, Kane? Is there a ruin ahead?"

Kane jumped off Cotton Candy.

"There's a large ruin ahead. Judging by the magic reactions and their quantity, it's not much different from what we encountered before."

After all, the magic reactions in the ruins ahead were not too intense; they just needed to stay alert and quickly clear them.

After hearing Kane's information, everyone swiftly organized their formation, picked up their weapons, and rushed towards the direction Kane had indicated.

Having become familiar with the monsters in this dungeon, the team didn't bother hiding and charged directly into the ruins.

The team had pretty much understood the characteristics of the monsters in this dungeon.

These monsters had strong exterior defenses but were extremely fragile internally. For good reason; although wrapped in an iron shell, the internal parts were quite delicate. If any part were damaged, it would malfunction clearly, making them sitting ducks.

The team's attacks were either internally destructive or possessed strong piercing power.

Not to mention Kreya, who could transform into a ghost, passing through these monsters to disrupt their entire system.

Longbei transformed into a small giant, then deployed Iron Wall Shield Defense with a loud roar.

Nearly all the mechanical monsters in the ruins were attracted to him.

The appearance of these monsters hadn't changed much; they were either spherical Sentinels flying in the sky or mechanical spiders on the ground with spherical bodies and extended hooked claws.

In Kane's Skill Grid, [Magic Power Reserve] had replaced [Critical Strike] as a resident skill.

Kane's current permanent skills were [Eagle Eye], [Spider Nest Weaver], and [Magic Power Reserve].

[Eagle Eye], due to its scouting effect, remained in the skill grid despite battles, but it would be swapped out depending on the battle's needs.

Fights rarely lasted over an hour, so you only get one chance to change skills. Therefore, it's essential to ensure your constant skills can handle most situations.

Longbei's Iron Wall Shield Defense covered most of the front area, while Kane created Steel Walls on both sides along its edge.

This way, the team was protected from all forward threats.

Kreya, using her ghost-like speed and ability to pass through objects, dashed through the monster groups slaughtering them.

When she passed through objects, mechanical ones were slowed by cold damage; flesh entities would take some Undead System damage.

However, this slowdown was sufficient.

This ensured they couldn't keep up with Kreya and were free targets for her slaughter.

Mechanical monsters reaching the defense wall faced Kane's metal storm.

The bullets, with high piercing power, disabled them upon entering their bodies, hitting some delicate parts, leaving them paralyzed and unable to fight.

The clustered monsters behind intermittently got hit by shiny stars dragging rainbow trails, exploding into confetti.

The flying spherical Sentinels suffered even more, pierced by sudden bullets or struck by bright stars, then fell in ruins.

Lightning occasionally descended from the sky.

When lightning hit a group of monsters, a swath of machinery around them was paralyzed.

No one expected that their output couldn't even compare to a single lightning strike from Cotton Candy.

As Cotton Candy began striking downward.

In less than two to three minutes, all mechanical monsters drawn to them were reduced to scraps.

"Just scrap metal, can't we get some tough ones, a big guy perhaps."

Every battle lasted less than 10 minutes.

This left Longbei extremely dissatisfied, not even warming up, cursing and returning to his original form.

Looking at the ground covered in dust, the team found themselves at a loss.

The process of finding the spoils took longer than defeating the monsters.

Kane didn't want to search for treasure in the dusty mess anymore.

"Lilulu, let's blow these dust away together."

Upon hearing Kane's suggestion, Lilulu flapped her wings and appeared by his side.

"Okay, okay!"

"I'll start, a strong wind."

Lilulu puffed up her cheeks and blew hard towards the deformed Magic Staff.

Seeing Lilulu begin, Kane also brought forth an electric fan nearly two meters wide and started it.

The wind from the two quickly blew the dust far and wide, with rainbows darting through.

The gentle dust wafted around, signifying the monsters' past presence.

Once the dust settled, everyone began bending down to pick up Magic Materials from the ground.

It felt more joyful than picking up money.

It seemed their luck wasn't great; from nearly 60 monsters, they only got 20 Magic Materials.

After gathering the spoils, they carefully explored the ruins.

Typically, such large ruins had an Elite Monster if there were no surprises.

Based on their recent experience.

Kane also used Eagle Eye to sweep around.

But this time there was an unexpected situation; the team searched the ruins for quite some time without seeing anything intact.

"That's odd. Could it be this ruin lacks the mechanical monsters from before?"

As the team was puzzled.

Yuyu slid over from not far away.

"Master, come and look."

Using a hooked claw to tug at Kane's pants, trying to drag him in a direction.

Kane followed Yuyu's lead, walking forward.

The team followed closely behind.

After walking a short distance, Yuyu stopped.

"It's here; it seems hollow below."

Yuyu pointed to a piece of the floor, then projected a three-dimensional map.

The map illustrated a tunnel beneath Kane's feet, leading to a space below. But because the space was exceptionally deep, Yuyu couldn't scan it accurately, given the limited penetration depth of the light.

However, the tunnel indicated a hidden space below.

Many dungeons like these held hidden spaces, as dungeons were fragments from other worlds.

If the original fragment area contained other spaces, they would also be perfectly replicated into the dungeon.

Space concealing high-energy items would naturally be copied into the dungeon as valuable Magic Items.

Though it might turn out to be just a plain hidden space without anything inside, it's all dependent on luck.
