Chapter 997: 994: Crushed
A shell world.
Corey had read that in the realm and scope of Immortals, several methods were created to allow Immortals to be able to battle with their full powers and abilities.
The reason for this was because if a Tier 7 decided to unleash his or her power without restraint, the chances of a world remaining in one piece was close to nil.
Even if a world survived the powers of a Tier 7, the damage done to the world would be downright irreparable.
The increase in power from Tier 7 to Tier 8 was so massive that many Tier 7s said that a Tier 6 had a higher chance of killing a Tier 7 than a Tier 7 being able to kill a Tier 8.
For a Tier 6 to be able to kill a Tier 7, it was considered nigh impossible. But many said that the chances of such a thing happening was higher than a Tier 7 killing a Tier 8.
And this belief was also the same for a Tier 8 killing a Tier 9.
The chasm between the higher Tiers became so deep and unfathomable to the point that one could only wonder if they would even be able to cross it in a million lifetimes.
Immortals had the ability to cause destructions that could lead to an unfathomable loss of lives, so to prevent that, multiple methods were created so that Immortals could battle to their heart's extent.
A shell world was one of them, and just like the name, it was an artificial world that was like a shell created to protect.
However, when Corey saw the shell world, he knew that he had to act quickly because if Klaus was allowed to unleash the shell world, their already unfavorable situation would become a lot worse.
Unlike Queen Nerith who believed that she was enough to dispel whatever threat their enemies posed, Corey did not have such confidence in her.
In fact, he felt like his life was hanging by a thread because there was no way so many people would come together to confidently act against three Immortals without having something that gave them full assurance they would win.
He did not know what this was, and the fact that he could not use his ocular abilities limited him in ways he did not like to admit at all.
Clap!
Corey clapped, his hands emitting a light grey glow, stunning everybody including Klaus who was about to crush the shell world in his hands which looked like a tiny marble.
Many thought Corey had clapped to draw everybody's attention to himself, and in part that was true. But his main goal was revealed to everybody when they saw Kiefer, Selene, Willow, and to everybody's surprise, Ecles... disappear.
Void Force engulfed all of them, and they were nowhere to be seen.
Queen Nerith's pupils constricted into pinholes when she saw her daughter vanish right out of her grasp. She did not expect it, and when she noticed it, she could not stop it which was shocking to her.
What she did not know was that Corey had improved his proficiency and efficiency of void force after she shockingly took Ecles from him the first time.
She had no idea that such a feat was something that shook Corey, and he had assigned one of his Stars of Consciousness to find out how such a thing was possible and how he could prevent it in the future.
She looked at Corey, but she didn't act out in rage since she believed that Corey had sent Ecles along with his friends somewhere safe.
Before Corey clapped, she was about to attack Klaus and stop him from using the shell world marble in his hands because she knew just how it would make it more disadvantageous for her, her children, and her surprising allies.
However, it seemed Corey already knew about how disadvantageous the shell world was.
And she was right.
What both her and Corey knew was that if Klaus was allowed to unleash the shell world, they would not be able to receive help from other Silver Elves.
Clap!
Another clap resounded in the room, but this time around, it was not the clap of somebody's hands.
No.
It was the clap of thunder. An extremely loud thunderclap.
Black lightning exploded from Corey's feet as he instantly appeared in front of Klaus.
Klaus' pupils constricted into pinholes as shock and disbelief slammed into his heart.
Corey's extremely cold and indifferent eyes gazed into Klaus' shaken eyes, and he did not slow down for even a single second.
Klaus heart skipped a beat.
His movement was extremely fluid as he swung his arm at Klaus.
Bang!
Boom!
He punched Klaus, or at least, he thought he did until he saw a barrier emitting a red aura emerge in front of Klaus.
'What the?'
Corey frowned deeply, and then his gaze instantly landed on an unassuming individual holding a mirror with red runic engravings on its sides.
Corey's pupils instantly constricted when he saw the mirror and instantly recognized the aura that was being emitted from the mirror.
'An Immortal Artifact.'
"Move!"
Queen Nerith's voice boomed in his ears, and he instantly vanished as he teleported away.
Bang!
A thick bolt of emerald lightning slammed into the barrier, and the shockwave unleashed from the attack blasted Corey, Pamela, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Caesar, Rorik, and Mathias away.
When they recovered, they expected to see a shattered barrier along with the charred corpses of many of their enemies, but when they saw that the barrier was still in one piece, their eyes widened in disbelief.
"Did you really believe that we did not plan for this?" Klaus scoffed, but he could not stop himself from glancing again Corey.
His heart was still shaken by the power of Corey's punch. He felt that if Corey's punch had hit his bare body, he would have suffered severe injuries.
'A monster.'
Without waiting anymore time, he crushed the shell world marble in his hand.
Crack!
