Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 996: 993: A Shell World [Bonus]

As everybody was stunned by the beauty of Corey's true appearance, Corey himself had an indifferent expression despite hearing the murmurs and words that were spoken by everybody.

"He's really the one. The mortal that's considered abnormal even by the Empire's standard."

Klaus muttered underneath his breath as he looked at Corey with a strange flicker in his eyes.

"Corey it seems there has been some misunderstanding."

Corey shifted his gaze to Klaus after hearing those words, and then he raised a brow.

"What sort of misunderstanding?"

Klaus smiled. "Well, I believe that we got off on the wrong foot. If you had not hidden your true identity, I would have treated you with more respect."

Corey tilted his head slightly with his eyes narrowing. "You, a prince of the Supreme God Empire, would treat a mortal of no background with... more respect?"

"Of course. The ignorant might not understand, but only those who know of your feats in the Underworld would truly understand just how valuable you are, and why you need to be treated with respect."

"Hmm." Corey hummed, and then he placed his hands in his pocket.

"I'm going to give you the same offer I gave the others. Join my faction in the empire, and I'll give you resources you cannot even fathom. You'll also be brought before the Emperor so that he can give you far more benefits than what I can give you. I'm sure father would appreciate true talent when he sees one."

'Like your brother, Eryndor.'

Although Corey had the urge to say these words out loud, he decided not to. Antagonizing or mocking a prince of the Supreme God Empire was not beneficial to him in any way, so he chose to keep his thoughts to himself.

He shifted his gaze to Pope Arzhel who had the same light smile on his face from the very beginning.

"If you can give me the head of the Pope, and also destroy the Temple of Flames for me, I'll join the Supreme God Empire with all my heart."

Klaus blinked in surprise, and he was not the only one that had a surprised expression. Even Pamela, Kiefer, and Willow had surprised expressions.

"You have enmity with the Pope and the Temple of Flames?" Klaus asked with a solemn expression.

"I do." Corey nodded.

"Don't tell me it's because he exposed your identity? If it is, then that would be rather... disappointing."

"It's not."

"Hmm. So it's true. You're the boy." Pope Arzhel chuckled softly the moment he heard Corey's words, and Klaus looked at him.

"He's saying the truth? The two of you are enemies?"

Pope Arzhel chuckled. "He's the one that hates me, not me. It's basically a one sided relationship since he's not worthy to feel my hatred."

Klaus frowned deeply, and then he glanced at Corey before looking back at the pope.

"Is there any way for this enmity between the two of you to be resolved?" He asked.

Pope Arzhel chuckled with a smile of amusement. "I doubt. I did murder his parents and kidnap his sister after all."

Klaus' expression froze, and so did the expressions of many others who had not expected such words.

'The tone he used is definitely not going to make things better. Sigh. What a mess. The Temple of Flames just had to make enemies with a talent like him.'

"It seems like the situation is more severe than I thought." Klaus shook his head with a frustrated expression, and then he looked at Corey with a light smile. "Unless, you can find it in your heart to let bygones be bygones."

Corey looked at him with a completely emotionless expression.

"He dies here today."

Klaus' lips twitched, and although Corey's words had not been directed at him, he still felt a chill crawl across his spine.

For some strange reason which he could not comprehend, he felt a threat from Corey, and he also had a feeling that his words were like a divine law. And since he said Pope Arzhel would die here today, he would die here today.

'Absurd. Completely absurd. How could I have such thoughts?'

'Although he's extremely talented and has even caught the attention of some high ranking officials of the empire, the Pope is not too underestimated.'

'For some reason, even my father does not take the Pope lightly.'

Sigh

Klaus released a deep sigh of frustration, and then he looked at Corey once again.

"I'll give all of you one last chance. As you can see, we have more numbers, and to be honest, the chances of any of you surviving is lower than zero."

"So, if you want to save yourselves, accept my offer. Join my faction, abandon the Silver Elves who have no business with you and your planet."

"You have no obligation to save them or help them, but you have an obligation to save yourselves."

"Make the wise decision all of you."

Klaus stretched out his hand, and shifted his gaze from Corey to Pamela, then to Jeremy, and then to the others.

When he saw that none of them came forward, he shook his head.

"A pity. Truly a pity."

He placed his hand, in his breast pocket, and before he could bring out whatever it was that he wanted to bring out, Queen Nerith spoke.

"I don't like the fact that you keep on talking like I'm nonexistent and powerless before you. You're nothing but bugs before me."

Klaus looked at Queen Nerith, and then he scoffed in disdain and mockery.

"But you haven't attacked us yet because you're afraid of the retaliation of our organizations. With how weakened you and your people are. You must surely know only extinction and despair awaits you and your people."

Queen Nerith frowned deeply, and then Klaus shook his head.

"I would have made a deal with you, but your... counterparts offered a deal I simply could not help but accept." Klaus smile became devious, and then he finally brought out what was in his pocket, and the moment Corey saw it, his eyes widened.

'A shell world!'
