Chapter 994: 991: Invitation
Everybody's expression experienced varying degrees of changes as they looked at the army that was in the corridor outside the throne room.
As far as their eyes could see, all they could see were dozens of Tier 6s that stretched and curved along with the corridor itself.
As everybody gazed at the enemies before them, Corey's gaze was fixated on a group of four people.
These four people wore chains with pendants of crossed black axes around their necks, and the moment Corey saw two familiar faces amongst the group, every bit of emotion that was in his eyes vanished.
His gaze became cold and emotionless.
'The Temple of Flames.'
He could never forget the symbol of the Temple of Flames, and when he saw the smile on the face of the Pope, a dark light flashed in his eyes.
'I'll kill him today and get my sister back no matter what.'
"Pierro, what are you doing here? And where's your leader?"
Queen Nerith asked with a calm expression while staring at one of the men who stood in front of the army.
The man was a Silver Elf with silver skin, but dark bronze hair and also black eyes. This man was the new second vice leader of the Freedom Fighters, and he had an extremely calm but solemn expression as he stared at Queen Nerith.
To Corey's surprise, he was a peak Tier 6, but he could not sense a single bit of fear or anxiousness in the eyes of the Silver Elf.
"Nerith. I think you should be more worried about yourself, your children, and the others in this room. Not my leader. He has... other matters to attend to."
Queen Nerith frowned at the disrespectful manner in which Pierro called her, but her attention was drawn to something else in Pierro's words.
"What is more important to your leader than my death and the death of my children?" She asked with narrowed eyes.
"Freedom." Pierro smiled back, his eyes flashing with a cold and reverent light.
Queen Nerith frowned deeply, and then she shifted her gaze to the remaining enemies in the room and corridor.
"So? Do you seriously believe you can kill me and my children with not a single Immortal?" She asked with raised brows of confusion, and a tad bit of amusement.
Pierro shrugged. "Who knows."
He shifted his gaze to Corey, Pamela, and the others, and then he narrowed his eyes.
"Kill the mortals first, they're weak, and-"
Before Pierro could finish his words, a hand stopped him from speaking. He looked at the hand that had appeared in front of his face, and then he turned to his right.
"Apologies."
Klaus Castiel of the Supreme God Empire gave Pierro a light smile as he stopped the elf from finishing his words.
"Before we kill those mortals, I want to have a brief conversation with them. Hope you don't mind?"
Pierro forced a smile. "I don't."
Klaus nodded slightly, not caring about the fact that he could feel Pierro's anger radiating from his body.
His gaze first landed on Pamela, and then Jeremy, followed by Mathias, Elizabeth, Rorik, and then Caesar. He observed Jeremy and his friends closely, before shifting his gaze to Kiefer, Corey, Selene, and then Willow.
He looked back at Pamela. "I've heard stories and read reports of your... absurd prowess and abilities."
Pamela raised a brow while tilting her head slightly. "And you are?"
"Oh. I'm Klaus Castiel, a prince of the Supreme God Empire. I'm sure you've heard of us in the Underworld." Klaus Castiel placed his hand on his chest, and gave a short gentleman bow.
"Hmm. The Supreme God Empire. I've definitely heard of you guys. What do you want with me?" Pamela folded her arms, and looked at Klaus with an indifferent expression and a raised brow.
"I want to recruit you into my faction in the Empire. I know that you're extremely talented, but one thing you should know is that your world would severely limit you."
"Once you reach a certain stage, there are resources you'll need to maintain the foundation you currently have along with your absurd level of strength."
"Your world cannot give you that, and if you believe you'll be able to find a world that can give you the resources you need, the chances of that happening is slim."
"And even if you do, there's no way you'll be able to gain resources that could be compared to what the empire can give you."
"The depth of the empire's resources and power is unfathomable, and I'm giving you a once in a lifetime opportunity to grab unto it."
Klaus paused, and then he looked at Jeremy, Elizabeth, Mathias, Rorik, and Caesar.
"I'm giving the same opportunity to you guys also. You're all talented, and I believe that your talents would only be put to great use in an organization as powerful as the Supreme God Empire."
To the surprise of many, he also looked at Kiefer, and gave the same offer.
"I'm also giving you the same offer."
Kiefer's eyes widened slightly, and he could not help but point at himself.
"Me?" He blurted out in surprise.
Klaus nodded with a smile. "I'm not only looking for powerful people, I'm looking for people with immense potential, and despite the fact that you're a Tier 2, I can sense immense potential in you. I want you to also join my faction."
Kiefer was taken aback, and he could not help but glance at Corey.
"Uhm?"
He had no idea what to say, and Corey just shook his head and patted his shoulder.
"You don't have to say anything."
Kiefer nodded, and then he kept shut. Despite being in the presence of so many Mystic Beings and Immortals, he did not feel threatened. Instead, he felt safe. And it was all because of his confidence in Corey.
However, Klaus had a slight frown on his face as he looked at Corey. He wondered why the boy who assumed would be the easiest talent to bring to his side, was seemingly asking another mortal with an average talent on what decision he should make.
"Who are you?" He asked coldly.
