Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 987: 984: Questions and Thoughts

There were many times where Corey could recollect being shocked and stunned by a discovery, knowledge, or action.

And there were far fewer times where Corey had truly been shocked and stunned to the point where even his unique mind failed to process anything for some time.

This... Learning about Jeremy's unique ability was one that truly shocked him.

The first shocking thing was that they had relived this day a total of two hundred and eighty two times.

A whole two hundred and eighty two times!

Corey could not believe it at all. In fact, it was incomprehensible to him how he had relieved today that many times and he was just realizing it.

No.

Not realizing it.

He was just waking up from it.

He clearly recalled that in some of his records, he had noticed that something was wrong, but he could never put his hands on what was truly wrong.

And there lied another problem. The number of records he had was nowhere close to the number of times Jeremy had relived today.

The difference was enormous, and Corey had no idea why it was.

For it to have taken him nearly three hundred todays to realize that he was stuck in a time loop.

He had a Void Phoenix Heart, and he believed that if he was stuck in a time loop, he should have noticed it much earlier.

But he didn't, and he guessed that it was either Jeremy's Hero ability was a lot more powerful than he thought, and despite him being a Paragon, he could not resist the power as easily as he expected.

Or... something else was interfering with his Void Phoenix senses.

Another question that was troubling to him, was why he only had over a dozen records in his Perceptual Nexus of Repository.

By all means, he should have a lot more, but he only had over a dozen, and he wondered why.

'Maybe it's because of the injuries to my Sea of Consciousness? Or maybe it's because it took a long time for me and the Stars of Consciousness to notice the time loop.'

Although he wished to know the answer to this question, he knew that he had more pressing questions he needed to ask Jeremy.

"You said, this is your unique ability, right?"

Jeremy nodded. "Yeah."

"So, how many times have you died and gone back in time?"

Jeremy gave a wry smile. "I knew this was going to be your next question." He paused and released a soft sigh after. "I stopped counting after five hundred thousand."

Corey's eyes widened slightly as he looked at Jeremy in disbelief. Although he had somewhat expected such a ridiculous number, and even expected numbers that were in the millions, it was still absurd when he thought about.

What sort of broken ability gave somebody to relive another day over five hundred thousand times?

Jeremy was basically immortal and he had an advantage that could make him to be strongest being not only in New Earth, but in the entire universe.

'No wonder he's the Hero. He's not talented, but he's a training freak. And with his unique ability, he can learn skills to extremely high levels.'

'If he cannot learn them in one day, what about a hundred days? What about a whole year of continuous repetition?'

'I might be wrong, but I'm sure he has been practicing my breathing technique and maybe some other skills in these two hundred and eighty two times he died.'

'If he wanted to master a skill, he can just die repeatedly on the same day. And to others, it would like he mastered that skill on that day, but he has been practicing for maybe dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of days.'

The way Corey looked at Jeremy changed as he stared into the eyes of the King of Miracles.

'No wonder Pamela said his eyes seem ancient. He has experienced far more than his age, and it can be seen in his eyes.'

'But I can also see a hidden problem...' Corey furrowed his brows slightly. 'He has no fear of death. Unlike most people that would despair at reliving the same day over and over, he uses that curse as an opportunity to train and get better.'

'I can imagine instances where he most likely died facing an enemy stronger than him, and he had to relive that day over and over again.'

'Many would have gone mad from being subjected to such a thing, but he used that to get stronger to this point.'

'It's admirable, but I feel like this could lead to his downfall at some point in the future.'

'Aside from that, this ability should have a limit right?'

'What is the maximum number of times he can go back in time?'

'What is this ability using to go back in time? His lifespan? No. That's wrong. His soul span? No to that also... I can perceive his soul, and I know that it's not weak and it even seems to be stronger than normal.'

'So what is his ability using to send him back in time?'

'Also, what effect does the ability have on New Earth? I know that it's the entire planet that's being sent back in time, and to do that, it would require a tremendous amount of energy.'

'There should be so many consequences and side effects to this ability on New Earth, but I haven't sensed one at all.'

Corey sighed, and then he sat on the chair with furrowed brows of concern.

Only three seconds had gone by as Corey had these thoughts and several other thoughts, so it only looked like Corey had been stunned by Jeremy's revelation of his ability.

"I'm going to leave out several other questions I have in me, and I'm just going to ask the questions that matter at the moment."

Jeremy nodded, and then he sat on the second chair in the room.

"Tell me everything you can tell me about our current situation."
