Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 1047: 1044: Killing An Immortal

PARAGON MARTIAL ARTS: COSMOS CLEAVE!

As Corey unleashed a technique of the Paragon Martial Arts, a thin line appeared from the head of the undead dragon to the tip of its tail.

The ground below the undead dragon split apart as a long, thin, and deep crevice could be seen.

The dragon unleashed a weak roar, and then it crumbled into dust as its life was ended.

In a single strike, Corey had killed a Tier 7 undead dragon, and those who knew the significance of what Corey just did were shocked.

Killing an Immortal was not an easy feat. There were reasons why they were called Immortals.

To kill an Immortal, one had to destroy the Immortal's soul, and very few below Tier 7 could accomplish this.

To be able to kill an Immortal, one needed three things. The first is to be able to perceive the soul. The second is to have the ability to attack the soul. The third is to have immortal mana or an energy equivalent to immortal mana which could damage the soul.

Astral mana or mystic mana could not damage the soul unless an immense amount was used.

And even if a tremendous amount of astral mana or mystic mana was used, take for example, the amount of astral mana Corey had with his three Infinity Crystals.

Such an amount was not enough to destroy an Immortal's soul with astral mana, but with mystic mana?

One would have to use every single bit of it to destroy the soul of a Tier 7. That was how sturdy their souls were, and this was disregarding the defense mechanisms that were placed by the Immortal to protect their soul.

There was also another method by which one could kill an Immortal as a Mystic Being or an Astral Being.

Using soul energy.

This was an extremely rare method one could use to kill Immortals, but it was so dangerous using soul energy because if used carelessly, one could end up killing themselves.

Also, the quality and strength of one's soul energy was dependent on the soul of the individual.

How many mortals (mystic beings and astral beings combined together) could boldly claim to have a higher quality and more powerful soul energy than an Immortal?

Aside from that, controlling soul energy was an extremely difficult feat for mortals. Less than 1 percent of the entire population of mortals in the universe would have the ability to control soul energy.

Corey could control his soul energy because of the numerous Stars of Consciousness he had, but even he did not dare to use soul energy against Immortals for several reasons.

One was that the quantity of soul energy he had was not up to his mana reserves in the slightest even though he had an unawakened Cosmic Soul.

Through Soul Perception, he could see the vast sizes of the souls of Immortals and their natural defenses. Though, he had not seen any Immortal with a soul as large as his and as unique as his Cosmic Soul, he knows that he would have to expend approximately 60% of his soul energy to be able to kill an average Tier 7.

And doing that would make him weaker because he had come for realize a few years ago that soul energy was in a way the foundation of every living thing.

One could have their mana cores filled to the brim with mana, their bodies filled with vitality, and their minds roaring with mental energy... But if their soul had no energy, one would find themselves feeling like they were going to die.

Soul energy is the most crucial energy in any living organism, and using soul energy as a means of attack was extremely dangerous... even for Corey.

Corey had two skills that were necessary in killing an Immortal- Soul Perception and Soul Entropy

Soul Entropy was a skill that many Immortals would fear if they learned of it.

If Corey were an Immortal or he had an energy source aside from soul energy to power Soul Entropy, Immortals would fear him because of the forbidden skill.

And right now?

Corey had an energy source that could make him threaten Immortals.

Divinity

In the previous timeline, he did not bother to use divinity or deeply analyze it because he was consumed by rage, but in this timeline, he was studying the divinity in him after fusing with the world tree.

With the power of divinity, he could destroy the soul of Immortals using his normal attacks, and most especially, Soul Entropy.

----

After killing the undead Immortal dragon in a single strike, Corey swung his Genesis Armament in a semi-circle, releasing an arc of axe intent mixed with Soul Entropy and Dream fire.

The arc moved at an extremely fast speed at the remaining Tier 7 undeads, and they had to either dodge or block the attack.

Corey swung his axe again, releasing another arc of light at the horde.

His attack killed hundreds of undeads, and it would have killed more if not for the interference of the undead Immortal swordsman.

Without waiting for the undeads to attack him or respond to his attacks, he vanished and reappeared some meters in front of the Clown who was hovering in the sky.

The Clown chuckled upon seeing him. "How do you like my new form, Corey? I believe it's a lot better than yours."

Corey looked at the Clown with a slight frown. He didn't bother to reply the Clown. Instead, his attention was trying to find the weak spot in the Clown's body.

He utilized his Eyes of Omniscience and Eyes of Truth and Judgement to show him the weak point of the Clown, and what he saw was something that made his frown deepen.

'The Book of Death is the weak point? No. Behind the Book of Death? That's where something that looks like a mana core is located.'

'If I'm able to destroy that thing, I'll be able to destroy his transformation, but I won't be able to kill him because he's immortal.'

'As for his soul... His soul is also immortal and it cannot be killed.'

As Corey had these thoughts, the Clown suddenly flapped his tattered wings made out of old pages.
