Chapter 157: Chapter 99.3: The Giants Attack! My Konoha Village!
A sudden chill enveloped Margery. An indescribable fear spread through his heart, making him shudder.
"Let me go!"
Margery struggled violently, shaking the space and ground around them as he attempted to break free.
Chu Yang layered every enhancement he could—Lightning Release Armor, Origin Breathing, Armament Haki, and more—everything but Sage Mode. Finally, he summoned two wooden blades into his hands: one radiated blinding sunlight, while the other glowed with the soft luminescence of the moon.
"Not my full strength, but about 60-70% should be enough to show you some respect," Chu Yang remarked with a faint smile before leaping forward, transforming into a dazzling streak of light that shot toward Margery.
The resplendent beam pierced through Margery's heart, blowing a massive hole through his chest as though struck by artillery.
Blood poured out like a torrential flood.
Margery let out a few desperate cries before his voice weakened. The wooden giant grabbed him and flung him aside like discarded trash.
Chu Yang returned to sit on the wooden figure's shoulder. The LED screen froze on his impassive face—a face that left an indelible impression on the people of D City.

Meanwhile, in A City, Foster watched the news and became further convinced of Chu Yang's limitless potential. Unable to contain his excitement, he rushed to his superior.
"Trust me, he'll definitely become an S-Class hero. Granting him special privileges in advance is absolutely justified."
"Foster, that giant wasn't as formidable as you think. Based on investigations, he was merely a human mutated by drugs."
"But... Chu Yang demonstrated overwhelming strength. This is the second Demon-level monster he's defeated, and he's only recently awakened his abilities!"
The superior fell into a thoughtful silence, frowning for a moment before finally speaking. "Alright, Foster, I'll trust you this time. From today on, you're officially his liaison, responsible for all communication between him and headquarters."
Overjoyed, Foster leaped up. Becoming Chu Yang's liaison meant his own standing within the Hero Association would rise alongside Chu Yang's growth. And Foster had absolute confidence in Chu Yang's future.
---
Following the battle with the giant, Chu Yang's name spread like wildfire in D City. However, this newfound fame brought endless trouble. His address was leaked by former coworkers, leading to reporters camping outside his house daily for exclusive interviews.
Becoming a household hero had rendered Chu Yang effectively homeless.
"Sigh... these people are so annoyingly persistent," Chu Yang muttered from the shadows of an alley, glancing at the throng outside his home with a helpless shake of his head.
"Get used to it; this will happen more often from now on. But this time, I suggest you move," Foster said, appearing silently behind him.
Startled, Chu Yang turned to see Foster holding a briefcase.
"I've brought you a new contract, Mr. Chu Yang," Foster said with a broad grin.
"I'm not interested in being a bodyguard," Chu Yang replied lazily, stretching.
"Of course not," Foster replied awkwardly before continuing, "Headquarters has approved your request. From today, you're officially part of the Hero Association."
Foster handed over a freshly printed contract. "Take your time to review the terms. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me."
Chu Yang accepted the contract with a nod.
That night, the reporters finally dispersed, and Chu Yang returned home, only to hear a knock at his door.
Opening it with a dark expression, he found a trench-coated man around forty with a mustache and glasses standing outside.
"Good evening, Mr. Chu Yang. I'm Rhodes, head of the Major Disaster Response Division of D City's police department," the man said with a sharp gaze.
"Police department?" Chu Yang blinked, momentarily forgetting their existence in an era dominated by the Hero Association.
Rhodes chuckled self-deprecatingly, "These days, the word 'police' has become almost obsolete, hasn't it?"
With sincerity, he added, "I want you to join our department as a security advisor."
After a long conversation about the Association's unchecked power and its implications, Chu Yang declined, unwilling to get involved in political power struggles.
The next day.
Foster happily arrived at Chu Yang's home to finalize the contract, officially making Chu Yang an A-rank hero, temporarily ranked 10th.
A City, Downtown Commercial Street – A Café
"How can some no-name guy take my spot?"
"Just because he was on TV?"
"Those drug-induced mutants are all bark and no bite. Even I could beat him easily!"
The one complaining angrily to his companion was Venom Stinger, who had just been pushed down from the 10th spot in the A-rank hero rankings by Chu Yang. Sitting beside him was Golden Ball, another A-rank hero, currently ranked 26th. Because of Chu Yang's sudden rise, Golden Ball was now 27th.
"It's really odd," Golden Ball said. "It's not even recruitment season, yet this random hero suddenly appears and goes straight to 10th."
Golden Ball, dressed like a rapper with a small goatee, frowned deeply as he spoke, his expression one of perpetual gloom.
"Do you think that guy got in through connections? That kind of thing happens a lot, doesn't it? The association is full of people like that," said another man in a brown snakeskin suit with a red tie. His thin frame and dejected demeanor made him look even more unimpressive.
This was Snake, the lowest-ranked A-rank hero.
Venom Stinger immediately agreed with Snake's speculation.
"That guy must have gotten in through the backdoor!" Venom Stinger declared indignantly. "I'm going to D City to challenge him publicly and take back my 10th spot!"
Golden Ball frowned. "That's not a good idea. Unnecessary conflict between heroes might lead to punishment from the association."
But Venom Stinger's resolve was firm. "I will challenge him!"
Snake encouraged him. "Don't worry about it. As long as you don't take it too far, the association won't care. At most, they'll just give you a warning."
Snake secretly hoped Venom Stinger would challenge Chu Yang. After all, this newcomer had pushed his already precarious rank even lower.
Venom Stinger, being the impulsive type, immediately got up and left the café after making his decision.
Watching him leave, Golden Ball sighed. "This is going to cause trouble."
---
Venom Stinger took a train to D City, arriving the next day.
Coincidentally, Chu Yang was near the train station dealing with a tiger-class monster. Without using any special abilities or even activating his aura, he crushed the monster with pure physical strength. His massive fists pummeled the creature into a paste, as if tenderizing meat for cooking.
Venom Stinger exited the station just in time to witness this brutal display. His eyelid twitched violently, and he licked his dry lips.
What a beastly newcomer. His specialty must be raw power.
No matter!
I can counter him with skill!
Encouraging himself internally, Venom Stinger strode toward Chu Yang with great determination.
Chu Yang noticed the ostentatiously styled man, whose hair made him look like a long-time internet café regular. The bizarre spear in his hand didn't help; its shape was oddly suggestive.
"So, you're the newcomer who jumped straight to 10th in the A-rank rankings? Chu Yang, right? What an awkward name," Venom Stinger said, his tone hostile and provocative.
"Do you need something?" Chu Yang replied indifferently, clapping his hands to clean off the monster's remains.
Venom Stinger sneered. "Thanks to you, I went from 10th to 11th."
Chu Yang found this puzzling and raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you reflect on yourself instead? If you were 9th, you wouldn't have been pushed down."
For a moment, Venom Stinger thought Chu Yang's logic made sense.
The standoff between them soon attracted a crowd of onlookers, some already taking out their phones to record the scene.
"In any case, I'm challenging you to prove that I'm still the 10th-ranked hero!" Venom Stinger said, thrusting his spear, Bamboo Shoot, forward, its tip pointed directly at Chu Yang in a blatant provocation.
"Why not challenge the 9th-ranked hero instead? Is it because you can't beat them? Or do you just really like the number 10?" Chu Yang asked sincerely.
Venom Stinger felt a flash of embarrassment and anger. Chu Yang's words implied he was picking on someone weaker, and objectively, it did seem that way.
Venom Stinger froze awkwardly, suddenly unsure whether to fight or retreat. The onlookers began to laugh.
"I was just joking. Feel free to attack—I'd like to prove I'm worthy of being ranked 10th," Chu Yang said, flashing a friendly smile that sent shivers down Venom Stinger's spine.
With no way out, Venom Stinger gritted his teeth and charged at Chu Yang, spear in hand.
"Special Move: Giant Spiral Venom Strike!"
The spearhead began spinning at high speed, creating an ear-splitting noise. This was Venom Stinger's ultimate move, capable of instantly killing tiger-class monsters and even injuring demon-class monsters.
The spear shot toward Chu Yang's face like lightning.
Chu Yang calmly coated his body with Armament Haki, raised a hand, and blocked the spear. Sparks flew as the spear's sharp tip met Chu Yang's palm.
Venom Stinger's eyes widened in disbelief.
Someone had just blocked his Giant Spiral Venom Strike bare-handed—and wasn't even injured!
Is this guy a monster?!
The onlookers collectively gasped in shock, silenced by the overwhelming display of strength.
Chu Yang grabbed the spearhead firmly, scattering sparks like falling cherry blossoms. No matter how hard Venom Stinger struggled, the spear wouldn't budge.
Grinning, Chu Yang said, "You must be tired after rushing all the way here without resting."
Venom Stinger looked up at him in confusion.
"Have a good sleep!" Chu Yang declared, stepping forward and delivering a powerful kick to Venom Stinger's midsection. The blow sent Venom Stinger's internal organs churning, and he collapsed unconscious.
The flash of cameras lit up the scene as onlookers eagerly recorded the humiliating moment. Chu Yang shook his head. By tomorrow morning, Venom Stinger would be all over the news.
Amid the crowd, a pair of eyes remained fixed on Chu Yang.
As the number of onlookers grew, Chu Yang quietly slipped away, leaving Venom Stinger to sleep on the ground.
He had initially planned to take Venom Stinger to a clinic or hospital…
"Such a hassle. I hope people get the message and stop picking fights. If you want a higher rank, defeating monsters is the only proper way!"
On his way home, Chu Yang was muttering complaints when someone blocked his path.
"Again? Can't this nonsense stop already?" Chu Yang scratched his head, looking impatient.
The person suddenly asked, "You're a ninja, right? Which ninja village are you from?"
Chu Yang froze and instinctively replied, "The Leaf Village."
The person looked puzzled. "Where's that?"
