Chapter 156: Chapter 99.2: The Giants Attack! My Konoha Village!

"Hello, Mr. Chu Yang. My name is Foster. I'm from the Hero Association."

The man introduced himself politely while discreetly sizing up Chu Yang.

Chu Yang's appearance was far more ordinary than Foster had imagined, like an unassuming young man just starting out in society.

"You guys are fast," Chu Yang remarked.

"Of course. Eliminating a demon-level monster is no small matter."

"But it's just demon-level."

"Hahaha, Mr. Chu Yang, you're too modest. I watched your fight—the enemy didn't stand a chance. You defeated it decisively."

Chu Yang chuckled. "Then you must've missed the first half. I got beaten up pretty badly."

Foster replied earnestly, "That only proves your potential. It's rare for someone like you, who just awakened their abilities, to defeat a demon-level monster."

Chu Yang nodded noncommittally and invited Foster inside. They sat on the couch and chatted briefly.

Foster soon revealed his purpose: to invite Chu Yang to join the Hero Association.

"If I join, do I start as a Class-C hero?" Chu Yang asked.

"Of course not, Mr. Chu Yang. You single-handedly defeated a demon-level monster. The association plans to rank you as Class-A, though you'd start near the bottom of the list."

Chu Yang considered this for a moment and decided to agree, but with one condition: "In the short term, I don't want to leave City D. If you assign me missions, they must be near the city. Otherwise, I won't be able to take them."

One day in the future, the giant brothers would pass through this area and destroy the city. If Chu Yang couldn't prevent that, everything he did now would be meaningless.

Additionally, Z City—home to Saitama—was right next to City D. Chu Yang planned to meet him eventually.

What drew Chu Yang to this world more than anything was discovering how to break his own limiter.

Foster scratched his head awkwardly, clearly troubled.

By regulation, all heroes below Class-S were required to follow the association's assignments unconditionally. As a low-ranked Class-A, Chu Yang's request was difficult to grant.

However, Foster was reluctant to lose someone with such exceptional potential.

"Please wait, Mr. Chu Yang. I need to consult headquarters."

Foster stepped onto the balcony with his phone. Chu Yang nodded, indicating he didn't mind.

A while later, Foster returned, looking regretful. "I'm sorry, Mr. Chu Yang. Headquarters didn't approve your request.

"In fact, we originally wanted you stationed at our headquarters. There are many VIPs in need of personal protection, and the pay is very generous..."

Chu Yang waved a hand, cutting him off. "That's enough, Mr. Foster. I'm sorry as well."

Foster hesitated, then sighed and left reluctantly.

He genuinely felt it was a shame.

The young man exuded a sense of unshakable safety, even stronger than that of many Class-S heroes Foster had encountered.

But Chu Yang wasn't disappointed. His primary reason for joining the Hero Association was to get closer to Saitama. Money and fame held no appeal for him. Breaking his limiter was his sole goal.

---

That night, the city grew unusually quiet, like a slumbering giant.

Chu Yang's figure appeared on the outskirts of City D as he set up a barrier to envelop the entire area.

The barrier would activate upon a catastrophic event, minimizing damage to the city.

This preparation aimed to reduce the collateral destruction from his future battle with the "giant" Margery.

---

Two weeks later, the "giant" Margery appeared in City D.

His towering form pierced the clouds, his chest hidden in mist.

Each step unleashed terrifying shockwaves, and the Hero Association foolishly rated him as a demon-level monster. His true power exceeded that by far, but Saitama's overwhelming strength had made him seem like a pushover.

As Margery approached, panic spread again through City D. Many froze in terror at the sight of his massive form.

One sweep of his hand obliterated a nearby forest, a scene broadcast live on TV.

"How can we possibly escape something like that?"

Despair gripped the citizens.

"Where are the heroes?"

"Please, save us! I'll never speak ill of you again!"

Anger, pleas, despair, and hysteria erupted among the fleeing masses.

On a rooftop, Chu Yang watched it all silently.

Margery's target wasn't City D—he was merely passing through. But the city stood in his way.

Margery raised his hand high, like a god of judgment ready to deliver his verdict.

As he swung his arm, the wind pressure distorted the surrounding space.

But the destruction he envisioned didn't happen.

Purple barriers flared to life around City D, forming an impenetrable fortress: the Four Violet Flames Formation.

Citizens stared in confusion at the walls of purple fire encircling them.

On Margery's shoulder, his brother and creator, the scientist Fock Gao, adjusted his glasses.

"Brother, purple walls!" Margery exclaimed.

"Whatever they are, destroy them all if they block our path!"

"Got it, brother."

Margery stomped toward the city, his massive steps shaking the earth.

Citizens trembled in terror, while Fock Gao surveyed the scene with a smug grin, feeling like the master of the world.

A small black dot approached from the distance.

Fock Gao frowned. "Another so-called hero, here to die like an insect. Margery, kill him."

"Understood, brother."

Margery swung a massive fist, creating a storm that shredded the air.

Chu Yang swayed in the gale, aware that continuing the fight near the barrier would inevitably destroy it.

He quickly formed hand seals.

A colossal wooden figure erupted from the ground, growing to match Margery's size. A wooden dragon coiled around its waist, its eyes locked on the giant.

Chu Yang stood on the wooden figure's shoulder, meeting Fock Gao's gaze.

"What a flashy toy," Fock Gao sneered. "Margery, crush it!"

Margery roared and charged like a beast.

The wooden figure intercepted him, grabbing his jaw and silencing his roar. It then delivered an uppercut that sent Margery staggering back.

Fock Gao wasn't as lucky—he fell from Margery's shoulder, screaming as he plummeted.

"Brother!!!"

Margery caught Fock Gao instinctively, but the impact turned his brother into a bloody mess.

Chu Yang sighed. "History really does repeat itself."

Margery froze for a moment, then let out a long, mournful roar to the heavens, crying out in agony, "Brother!!!"

The brother-obsessed giant was consumed by an extreme rage!

The wooden figure before him was seen as the culprit of his brother's demise. His bloodshot eyes locked onto it with murderous intent.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Margery charged forward like a storm, each step causing the ground to quake violently.

Seeing this, Chu Yang controlled the wooden figure to squat down, assuming a sumo stance to meet the incoming savage charge head-on.

Boom!

The two colossal figures collided fiercely, generating a shockwave that sent nearby broadcasting helicopters tumbling from the sky.

Of the five helicopters covering the event in real-time, only one managed to remain airborne.

The LED screens in the center of D City broadcasted the scene live, captivating countless citizens who watched with bated breath.

The Four Purple Flame Formation once again absorbed the impact of the storm, but the barrier had dimmed significantly, showing it could no longer withstand another blow.

"I need to get this guy farther away..."

Chu Yang muttered, as the wooden figure beneath him responded by erupting with raw power, pushing forward against Margery's relentless charge.

The ground beneath their feet cracked open into chasm-like fissures.

"You bastard!!!"

Margery gritted his teeth, veins bulging across his body as he mustered every ounce of strength just to stabilize himself. He prepared to counterattack.

But before he could act, the wooden figure struck first. By the time Margery realized it, his arms had already been locked in a vice grip.

The small black figure standing on the wooden giant's shoulder emanated a brilliant blue lightning aura.
