Siblings with No Life Get Summoned to Another World as Detectives

Chapter 47: Bunny outfit

Brother and sister were walking through the city when, suddenly, they came across a chapel. It was mostly made of stained glass that shimmered in the sun. The choice of colors and materials set it apart from the other buildings.

"I'll go first!" Kai shouted decisively as he approached the wooden door. He put his hand on the handle and gently opened it. There was no one at the entrance, just a corridor.

The corridor stretched forward, lined with narrow stained-glass windows that let in fractured streams of colored light.

The brother and sister walked down the corridor and entered another room. It was a vast chamber with a ceiling at least seven meters high. Benches were arranged on the left and right in two rows, all facing the altar at the far end.

Men, women, and even children sat on the benches, all with different ears. Some had rabbit ears, some cat ears, some wolf ears. Their movements were minimal, their gazes lowered, hands folded neatly in their laps. The only sound was the faint creak of the benches as they shifted slightly, but no one spoke.

At the very front sat a man in a long white suit, perfectly still. His presence dominated the room more than the height of the ceiling or the grandeur of the windows. The fabric of his suit seemed to catch the colored light in an unnatural way, glowing faintly.

The walls bore frescoes set with stones of a vivid deep blue. The gemstones caught the glow of the candles and shimmered faintly, giving the holy images an otherworldly presence.

In the front rows, elderly women sat and sang in a choir. Their voices were soft, yet layered with an eerie harmony.

The brother and sister watched the scene; everyone was either silent or singing and looking at the man at the head of the room — nobody paid them any attention. They slowly approached the back row and sat in the empty seats.

"Let us all pray for our exalted goddess!" the man in the white uniform's voice echoed, sharp and commanding. Everyone stood in unison, heads bowed, eyes fixed on the floor, and a suffocating silence fell over the hall.

Kai and Mei, who remained seated, watched the scene in astonishment.

"This is a church…" Kai mumbled quietly into his sister's ear, his voice barely more than a breath.

Mei's eyes darted nervously around the room, catching the glint of gold on the man's uniform and the way his gaze swept over the congregation with sharp precision. "Let's go outside…" she whispered back, her voice tight, almost trembling.

Kai and Mei stood and started toward the corridor. But when they tried to leave, a man in the same white uniform, with sharp, wolf-like ears perched atop his head, was already waiting by the door. His posture was rigid, unnervingly still, and his dark eyes seemed to measure them, weighing their intent.

"Lady Miyuki awaits you," he said, his voice calm. Without another word, he turned and walked toward a set of doors that jutted off the side of the corridor.

Kai and Mei exchanged a glance, the silent question in their eyes met with a shared resolve. Slowly, they nodded, following him.

The doors opened into a small chamber, dimly lit, its walls lined with dark wood and shelves holding objects they couldn't quite identify. A single table stood in the center, polished to a near-reflective sheen, with a solitary swivel chair.

The wolf-eared man stepped out and closed the door behind him, the click of the lock echoing ominously in the small chamber, leaving Mei and Kai alone.

Above the solitary chair, two snow-white rabbit ears protruded, stark against the dim lighting. For a moment, they froze, uncertain if their eyes were playing tricks on them. Then, with a soft whir, the chair began to rotate.

Seated gracefully, with an aura that seemed to command the very air around her, was the Prime Minister of the Neko kind — Miyuki.

She was a middle-aged woman, yet her beauty was impossible to ignore. She perched on the edge of the chair like she, one long leg crossed over the other, the fishnet stockings stretching tight over every curve, drawing the eye along the smooth line from her thigh to the elegant arch of her ankle.

The glossy black material hugged her torso, pressing snugly against her chest and lifting her full breasts just enough to catch the light in a teasing, hypnotic gleam. Her hips tilted slightly as she shifted, accentuating the sensual S-curve of her body with every subtle motion.

Her silvery-white hair spilled over her shoulders and down her back, shimmering with a metallic sheen that made her delicate ears stand out. Every glance she threw, with her ocean blue eyes, seemed calculated, teasing, and commanding attention without a single word.

She leaned back slightly, one arm draped over the chair's backrest, the other hand tracing idle patterns along her thigh, fingers brushing the fishnets in a slow, languid caress. The subtle shift of her weight made the chair creak under her, but she seemed entirely unbothered, lost in the deliberate rhythm of her posture.

Her lips curved into a faint, knowing smile. The way she crossed and uncrossed her legs, the teasing tilt of her hips, the shimmer of the fishnets, the tight, glossy outfit — it all combined into a tableau of poised, controlled seduction, impossible to ignore. Even the air around her seemed charged, humming with the tension she radiated effortlessly.

She was dressed in what Kai and Mei would call—

"Bunny outfit…" Kai mumbled, his jaw half-drooped, eyes flicking nervously toward the stark white ears that peeked from Miyuki's head.

Mei quickly raised her hand and pressed it over his mouth. "You're drooling…" she whispered, a mix of exasperation and quiet amusement in her voice.

"I- I'm sorry…" he muttered softly, cheeks burning, his gaze glued to the Prime Minister.

Miyuki's sharp, calculating eyes swept over them. Her posture was regal, yet deceptively relaxed, radiating authority that needed no words. "Sit," she said in an almost commanding tone.

Without any comment, Kai and Mei took seats.

Miyuki's lips curved into a slow, deliberate smile, one that didn't quite reach her piercing eyes. She leaned further back into her elegant chair, the snow-white ears atop her head twitching ever so slightly.

"I'm pleased to meet you…" she said, her voice smooth and controlled, each word measured with the weight of authority. Then, almost casually, she extended her hand toward them. The white gloves she wore matched the pale sheen of her hair and ears, giving her an air of almost ethereal perfection.

Kai immediately lunged forward and grabbed her hand, shaking it with far too much enthusiasm. He clasped it with both hands, his grip almost desperate, not letting go as if he feared she might vanish at any moment. His eyes were wide, sparkling with excitement.

Mei, exasperated, shot him a sharp look and lightly kicked him in the shin. Kai yelped, flinched, and immediately released Miyuki's hand, stumbling slightly back into his seat.

Miyuki's eyes narrowed for a heartbeat, observing him with a mixture of amusement and thinly veiled warning. Then, almost imperceptibly, the corners of her lips curved upward.

Mei leaned forward gracefully and extended her hand. Miyuki regarded it for a moment before taking it, the contact brief but firm.

"First, I would like to congratulate you, again, on becoming presidents…" Miyuki said, her fingers tugging lightly at the pristine white gloves.

"Thank you!" Kai said, voice a little too bright, betraying the nervous energy coiled inside him.

Miyuki's gaze sharpened, and the room seemed to grow colder. "Now to a more serious matter… Why didn't you stop Vorenhart from summoning the Calamities…?"

"Well… We wanted to, but Elm—" Kai began, his voice faltering under the weight of her gaze.

"I do not want to hear excuses…" Miyuki interrupted, leaving no room for argument. Kai only sighed.

Miyuki rose from her chair, took a few steps, and stood beside the brother and sister, revealing the rest of her legs. Her eyes, sharp and unyielding, locked onto theirs. "How do you plan to kill them?" she asked finally, her voice calm.

"Who said we want to kill them…?" Mei asked, her voice steady, almost playful, as she turned her face to the Prime Minister with a small, confident smile tugging at her lips. The glimmer in her eyes was deliberate — a provocation.

Miyuki froze for only a fraction of a second, her sharp gaze narrowing as if she were dissecting Mei's very soul. Then, with a soft exhale, she turned away. The click of her heels echoed as she crossed the chamber with slow, deliberate steps and lowered herself gracefully back into her chair.

"So the rumors are true…" she said, her voice smooth but laced with venom, each syllable carrying the weight of accusation. Her snow-white ears twitched faintly as her eyes gleamed with cold certainty. "You are DEMONS from the Empire…"

Kai and Mei looked at her in surprise. "W-what?"

"Before I called you, people told me you were complete and utter demons among humans…" Miyuki explained. "Not that it bothers me, I'm just saying…"

"Yo… We have a reputation!" Kai exclaimed.

"Here's how it'll go… You will work under me, obeying every—" Miyuki began, but Kai cut her off, leaning across the table and placing his finger on her lips.

"No, no, no. You see, it'll be the exact opposite. You'll work for us!" Kai said with a smile.

"Or you'll see what happens next…" Mei said, with an even bigger smile.

Miyuki swallowed hard, and her smile crooked slightly with fear, but she tried to hide it. "I see… Then it will be like that, but if you mess up even one thing, I will do everything to take your place!"

"Fine by me!" Kai shouted, and then they shook hands.
