Chapter 1671: Full force of Darkness (7)
It wasn't an illusion.
Those large corruption energy monsters that the member of the Four Omens had summoned had collapsed with just a single hit.
Though to be fair, it was a blow that contained my full power.
So in the first place, it wasn't as if this was a weak blow.
It was just that this was far more powerful than I had expected.
It really didn't feel like this was my power with the way that the large corruption energy monsters had fallen in one blow. This was far beyond anything that I would have been capable of in the past.
But still, this meant that I was far stronger than in the past.
When I snapped out of my daze, I immediately focused on that member of the Four Omens that was standing there in a daze as well. I knew that this was the perfect chance for this, so I tapped Joan on the back.
Joan understood what I wanted, so she dove down at that member of the Four Omens.
It took a while, but that member of the Four Omens reacted to what was happening and realized that it couldn't just stand there. It raised the mace out of the ground and pointed it at me.
The moment that it did this, the corruption energy monsters seemed to react as they all charged at me as well.
Only they didn't stand a chance against Joan's flames.
She had been gathering those flames since she started diving down and she released it the moment that the corruption energy monsters came at her.
But when she unleashed these flames, even Joan couldn't help being caught off guard by the power contained in these flames. After all, these flames were far more powerful than any that she had released before.
From our connection, I could tell that she was asking me just what had happened.
Only I didn't explain since I was focused on where that member of the Four Omens had been standing.
When the flames cleared, its appearance was revealed.
Only it seemed like that member of the Four Omens was much weaker than before.
Most of the corruption energy that had surrounded it seemed to have been stripped away by the flames that landed on it. At the same time, it was currently on one knee as if it was exhausted.
Even the array that was in the ground seemed like it was more faint compared to before.
That was because this member of the Four Omens had just drawn on the power of that array to block this flame breath from Joan.
If it had used its power alone, then it wouldn't have been able to block that flame breath.
After panting for a bit, that member of the Four Omens said, "Stop him no matter what! Sacrifice yourself to the glory of our lord!"
As soon as it said this, the Apostles of Destruction that had been scattered around suddenly appeared like they had come out of the woodwork. They had been hiding themselves among the corruption energy monsters and had chosen this moment to attack.
But even when I saw them, I didn't panic as I knew that there would be someone that would deal with them.
Just like how these Apostles of Destruction had been waiting for a chance to strike, the same could be said about the forces of the racial alliance.
They had pulled back when they received that order from me, but they saw their chance and they didn't miss it.
So that was why the moment that they saw the Apostles of Destruction attacking, they went forward to meet them.
The ones with relics were the ones that left the charge against these Apostles of Destruction.
Since they were attacking the Apostles of Destruction when they were attacking me, they were able to catch them off guard quite easily. But at the same time, it didn't seem like the Apostles of Destruction cared that they were being attacked by the members of the racial alliance.
It seemed like the only thing that they cared about was taking me down, stopping me from reaching that one member of the Four Omens.
But in the end, they weren't able to do that.
The members of the racial alliance could see what the Apostles of Destruction were planning, so they made their own moves around me. They made sure that they surrounded me so that the Apostles of Destruction couldn't reach me.
They used their full strength to block the Apostles of Destruction.
It was clear that they didn't plan on saving anything else.
After all, this could be considered the final blow against the forces of Destruction.
If that one member of the Four Omens was taken care of, there would be no one else left to face us.
I knew that was well, so I had been gathering my power while Joan cleared the way.
Once I was close enough, I raised the Staff of Earth in my hand and created tendrils of earth that came out of the ground. All of them reached out towards that one member of the Four Omens in an attempt to grab it.
The member of the Four Omens knew what was happening, so it grabbed the mace once more and summoned more corruption energy from the array.
But this time, it was the corruption energy that was slapped away by the earth tendrils.
This time, I didn't hold back at all as I was planning on finishing this member of the Four Omens off with one single blow.
The member of the Four Omens seemed desperate when it saw that nothing that it was doing was working, so it just gripped the mace in front of it as if it was praying.
"It seems that you've gotten stronger."
This voice rang out as a single tendril of corruption energy suddenly reached out of the array on the ground.
I couldn't help deeply knitting my brows when I heard this voice.
