Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Despair and Fortune
****
Before you go ahead and read the chapter, there are a couple of things I want to point out
1- I'm only writing this because I want to practice my writing so this may be garbage
2- The chapters may have some information or details missing from the original story, this is because I do not want to go back to previous chapters
3- There will probably not be a fixed schedule of chapters because I obviously have my own life and this is a fanfic
***********
Enormous…. Those were the only words that could be used to describe such things.
These mountains that were veiled with an eternal mist seemed as if they could pierce the heavens itself.
Of course they were the Hollow Mountains.
A Death Zone region that even the Sovereigns avoided.
Only a madman or a fool would willingly go to such a place… and yet such a fool there was
Amongst the mist, A shadow like figure could be seen traversing the fearsome nature. The figure was male with pale skin yet surprisingly the figure seemed rid of impurities making his skin look tight and clear.
His eyes seemed to be two whirlpools of darkness mixed with an unreadable amount of emotions
Small parts of his luscious hair fell down onto his face soaked in blood, in which he paid no attention to. The rest of his hair which reached down past his shoulders was messily tied up in a ponytail with a small piece of ragged cloth.
The figures body on the other hand was covered by a beautiful dark onyx armour, the armour was flexible and durable, underneath that armour though was a lean body and although he was short, he seemed like a porcelain doll.
However the figure was jagged
Tattered and full of injuries.
His pale face was filled with blood, His left arm was gone which looked as if it was brutally and aggressively torn by a terrifying calamity, his left leg limping however none of those injuries could compare to the one in his chest.
There was not even a single drop of blood flowing from his chest, all there was…. was nothingness. There was a gap directly in the middle left of his chest directly where his heart was positioned.
Surprisingly enough though, the figure even though heartless continued to move forward almost as if it had to… or it was forced to.
'Damnation'
Sunny gritted his teeth as he thought to himself as he was traversing the mist of the Hollow Mountains
He currently had no heart and was on the verge of death and even though Sunny was strong, infact really strong, after all he was a Saints and it would be safe to say that excluding the Sovereigns he was definitely one of the top three strongest humans but even then he would have definitely have died if it wasn't for Blood Weave, Saints after all still had to rely on their heart to live.
But even though Blood Weave for now was doing its job, after a while it would eventually stop being effective, once that happened….. the hands of death will take Sunny and he will be at the mercy of Shadow.
Sunny also had barely any essence left and it was not regenerating at a pace that Sunny would like it too.
Sunnys hands or left hand rose up to his eyes as he stopped walking.
"I'm such a fool"
Sunnys eyes squinted a little before growing a little bit weary
First I broke my fate and felt despair when everyone forgot me and now I made the mistake of bumping into a sacred demon
Sunny's eyes filled with a slight spark slowly grew more and more hollow.
Perhaps I should die here, after all I came here fully expecting death, yeah that would be nice wouldn't it, after all I've been through enough haven't
Sunny sighed before looking down towards the ground.
There he could see his 6 shadows, gloomy, happy, creepy, haughty, naughty, crazy all growing extremely worried about him.
I'm so pathetic.
Thinking about dying instead of surviving
It's unlike me but… what can I even do, I've always prided myself on being a noble cockroach filled with a desire to survive but this time I feel tired…. I'm really tired of everything.
Sunless face which was covered with shadows making the only visible outline to be seen was his eyes
His gaze slowly went towards his empty heart before looking straight.
A slight spark lighting up in the endless void of his eyes.
But… no, I refuse to accept this and even though I have nothing to live for….
I want to live, even if it may be out of pure spite…
'I still want to live on!'
Sunny gritted his teeth before growing more calmer and colder.
Sunny slowly inhaled and exhaled a couple of times trying to get back his composure before summoning a memory using a portion of his puny essence that he currently has.
Sunny knew that he had to be quick, after all he had no heart.
'That damn thing'
Sunnys eyes squinted slightly full of spite, if he ever survived here he would make sure that thing would die, he knew very well how strong it was, in fact Sunny was lucky to even escape, he thought that it would be able to use an authority to prevent his escapade but it seemed that because it had very little intelligence it was unable to do so.
Either way it was a boon of luck to escape a Sacred Demon
Sparks slowly began to appear on Sunnys face before completely revealing the summoned memory.
A mask of black lacquered wood carved to resemble the face of a ferocious demon. Its teeth bared with four fangs protruding from its mouth. There were three twisted horns rising from it like a crown. Inside the black chasm of its eyes was nothing but pure darkness.
The memory of course was Weavers mask
Sunny sighed before slowly pouring his essence into the memory activating the third enchantment [Where Is My Eye], it was an enchantment that had save Sunnys life countless times and something he was grateful for, this was the only reason why he believed he had a chance to survive, of course Sunny was strong alongside his shadows, Saint, Fiend and Serpent but traversing the mists of Hollow Mountains Sunny needed a trump card and his belief in Weavers mask was exactly that.
Slowly the enchantment had successfully activated scooping up Sunnys minuscule amounts of essence he currently had only leaving behind a couple of drops making it seem like it was too worthless to devour.
Sunny slowly coughed up blood that poured out behind the wooden mask as an excruciating pain appeared within Sunny.
Every bone in his body, every atom in his body felt like it was burning alive, it was as if there was a dozen of molten pipes digging into every part of his body slowly melting every atom and bone in his body.
The pain was unbearable and yet Sunny beared it.
And slowly the pain faded away but the scars in Sunnys mind did not.
Gritting his teeth as he tried his best to ignore the agony that had just happened.
Sunny could see everything.
Time had felt as if it had slowed down.
The tapestry of fate could be seen very clearly too.
Sunnys eyes which were covered by the endless darkness in the chasm of his mask peered into the depths of fate.
Endless amounts of strings of light were all flowing around each other not a single one touching each other
Here Sunny could see clearly the past, the future and the present.
Ignoring all of the unescessary strings of fate which took an immeasurable toll on Sunnys mind he tried his best to look for a string of fate similar to when he had his [Fated] attribute.
But…. Sunny was filled with despair.
He couldn't find it.
There was not a single string of fate that could help him.
Sunnys lungs tried to pump blood faster with the help of blood weave as Sunny dropped to his knees.
The endless black pools of darkness in his eyes seemingly which could swallow you whole had an emotion of agony.
He didn't want to accept it but… there was no way out.
His death was inevitable.
Sunny mind was in total agony from all of his sudden experiences
Sunny being erased from existence, the shock from the mist of the Hollow Mountains, the excruciating pain of [Where is My Eye]
But something unexplainable happened.
The time that had been slowed or had the illusion of being slowed started to flow back into the past, the tapestry strings of fate slowly folded onto each other until they were ripped apart as a man shaped hole could been seen amongst the falling strings.
Inside that man shaped whole, a figure whose body was covered in shadows had the outline of a slightly taller than most human with 7 arms positioned all around his body, it looked like the body originally had 8 but that was not its most distinguishing feature
It's face was covered by a mask of black lacquered wood carved to resemble the face of a ferocious demon. Its teeth bared with four fangs protruding from its mouth. There were three twisted horns rising from it like a crown. Inside the black chasm of its eyes was nothing but pure darkness.
Sunless eyes widened as he instantly recognised that figure
It was Weaver
But even though Sunless had just seen Weaver his thoughts were in too much agony to even be able to function currently and so Sunny watched hollowly behind the mask as the strings of fate slowly recombined itself back to its original tapestry as the man shaped hole slowly started to reform back together.
But this time it was different, even though slightly, the strings of fate was different, Sunnys eyes grew blurry and
after a couple of seconds he had fallen unconcious
The blood inside of Sunny alongside his bones, his soul and his fearsome mask all shun brightly and ferociously.
Space itself began to become more and more distorted before the shining lights from Sunnys memorys and attributes slowly and forcefully caused the distorted space to become much more calm.
And when it had reached total calmness….
The world shattered and time began to resume once again.
****
Amongst the midst of the world shrouded in complete darkness and near a city filled to the brim with monsters, a cathedral that seemed to be completely empty and totally dark had a porcelain and pale young man who was quite short laying in his bed in which he looked humorously small in.The man after all was quite short and the bed was much larger than any normal bed would be.
The pale young man's eyes slowly opened as two whirlpools of darkness could be seen.
Sunny had returned to the Forgotten Shore
