Shadow Slave FanFic [Missing Piece]

"He what? How? Why is that important?"

Was the question everyone asked at the same time in one form or the other. They almost thought he was just making a joke to waste their time or to simply throw them off but as the Room fell silent once again the Sin of Solace sat up to explain why such a small detail was so important.

"What is so hard to understand? Did I stutter? Or are you that dumb to not understand such simple terms? I had hopes for some of you but this is disappointing."

Again he sounded so calm and collected as he mocked them. Making them feel like they have truly missed something, but in reality only Nephis could have figured out what he meant and after some time she actually had a moment of enlightenment.

"He stumbled just in time so the Attack of the Cursed Terror didn't fully get him."

She said under her breath but still loud enough for everyone to hear.

"OH look, the autistic Bitch has some Brains after all. Do you want a treat for that?"

Nephis shot him a stare that could very well kill someone but the Sin of Solace laughed it off as he found Joy in how easy it was to get her blood to boil.

"To be fair you are actually correct, after Consuming another part of Weavers Lineage he fell into another seizure and let the Staff That guided him to the Heart of the Estuary drop to his Feet and it rolled right behind him. Moments later when the Nightmare was already falling apart the Vile Thieving Bird attacked him and in an effort to not Die from the Encounter with a Cursed Terror as a Master no less, he tried to flee but stumbled over the Staff. The Talons that should have sunken right into his Chest just ripped it open instead and damaged his Fate instead of removing it completely. God's I wish I could have seen it from another Perspective. Seeing him scream with Horror and Pain would have been a nice ending for it all."

Nephis hand twitched at his last comment. She was at her last reserves of patience and about to lash out at him but knew that there was nothing she could do.

'I should ask Sunny to give this piece of shit a Body so I can burn him to a crisp right after. Could sunny even do that? Surely, it's Sunny after all.'

"And what did that Change? Why do you even know what would have happened? It's not like you can see alternative timelines…can you?"

The man with Sunny's body broke Out into Laughter once again. He had no such ability but the thought was hilarious for reasons that were as Vile as the rest of his existence.

"No I sadly don't. But now that you mentioned it Glutton, I would love to be able to. At least that would give me an infinite amount of timelines to see you all suffer over and over."

He was left in his thoughts for a moment as the images of several different ways they could have all died, in all the situations Sunny had lived through with them, flashed through his mind. He was quickly pulled out of his crazy thoughts when someone clears their throat to catch his attention.

"What is it then? Now is the time to brag about your Greatness. I'm sure you enjoy this very much."

Bloodwave commented while rolling with his eyes. He had not expected to be having such a tiring conversation when coming here but would do it again if it meant that he could repay his Depths by the man who saved his life when he was just a mere Master.

'Arguably the most Powerful Master no doubt but still just a Master which made the Situation no less impressive and embarrassing on my end of course.'

He thought while waiting for the Sin of Solace to pull his thoughts together once more.

"I think it's time to bother the CRIPPLE again. You still have that Echo of yours, don't you?"

Cassie had meanwhile pulled herself together but feared what the Sin of Solace would try to hurt her with next. This time though she didn't know where he was going with this so she summoned the only thing that came to her mind.

A whirlwind of white Sparks Manifested behind her into a young Lady with a Red dress. Dark tentacles spread from her body making her figure weird in shape. They couldn't see her face which was for the Better when Cassie explained what that Echo is.

"That's… my Corrupted version I received as an Echo after I killed her in our 3rd Nightmare. Her face is covered because it's dangerous to look into her eyes. Did she tell you all the things that would have happened to Sunny if he fully lost his Fate?"

The Sin of Solace looked at her Echo for a while without saying a single word. He and Torment had spent countless Nights and Days talking about all the things she got from her Visions that forced them to forget a Bond one could even describe as affectionate.

"Yes, yes she did. We have spent a lot of time talking about what she got from her Ability. That included the things that would have happened to that Love of hers if he truly Lost his Fate."

In the beginning his Focus was on Torment with a Genuine smile painted across his face but when he continued he decided to look back down to Cassie who he knew was already on the verge of breaking down. Now he had dropped another bomb that he was sure would not get brushed off so easily like the last.

Everyone's eyes once again focused on Cassie as she tried to stay as calm as she could be. Once again the Sin of Solace managed to break her mask of Indifference as she didn't notice that her lips had started trembling.

"You…YOU…I WILL TEAR YOU APART I WILL FIND A WAY TO DO SO. I SWEAR TO THE DEAD GOD'S I WILL…"

"Love?"

Nephis interrupted Cassie's rampage With a single word asked as a question that he was sure would start a fire in here and was his plan all along.

"OH yeah, she loved him so much that when she got Corrupted that love turned into burning fury for him when she realized that he will only ever have eyes for you. What do you think drove him to live all those years and endure for so long? He did it for you. To be with you. And that obsession of his disgusted Torment to a point where she found Joy in finding out how much he would suffer after losing his Fate. It was wonderful seeing all those Visions of him suffering just because he couldn't live without you."

Before the Sin of Solace Could continue Cassie could feel the stare of disbelief coming from Nephis staring a hole into her Blindfold. And that in a way that was not metaphorical when seconds later Cassie's Blindfold burst into white flames and the 2 now separate sides fell off her head completely.

"I want you to look me in the eyes when you answer me this. Since when and why did you never tell me?"

'Now we are getting into the good stuff, i just love them breaking down piece by piece.'

He chuckled but didn't say anything and just watched the scene unfold like everyone else. Only That everyone else was on edge while he was having a Blast.

"I…I didn't know how to tell you. And I thought it wasn't…"

"Since when?"

Nephis Interrupted her again with a shiver In her Voice that left no room for interpretation. She was confused but also hurt that something so important was kept from her from her best friend.

Cassie wanted nothing more than to deny it all and tell her that the Spiteful wraith was wrong but Kai was here and after what she had admitted to earlier she wasn't sure if he would have her back and Lie for her to Nephis and the others. So she felt like going with the Truth was all she could do so that's what she did.

"Since…Since the Forgotten Shore. But can you blame me?"

She added Hurried after her Confession to make the situation better somehow. Nephis reaction was bound to be filled With Dynamite and she knew it from taking over her senses as she watched the image of her becoming more and more Blurry.

"No Cassie, I don't blame you. How could I? After all the same happened to me. What I'm blaming you for is keeping it from me for All those years. Why didn't you…tell me?"

Nephis was on the verge of Tears as she realized how many things she has been kept in the Dark about by her best friend. She could tolerate and even understand the Visions but this was something Cassie had no reason to keep from her and she was eager to find out why.

"Guys, I think we should get Back to the Subject this is getting out of…"

"NO! I NEED TO KNOW THIS. NOW!"

She shouted at Kai, she felt bad for doing so but she didn't Care right now. She was hurt and Sunny wasn't here to help her through It.

The image Cassie could see through Nephis eyes glimmered and Blurred as the Tears fell from her eyes while evaporating before reaching the Table.

She was hurt and angry and had every reason To be. As she Waited for Cassie to answer the heat gradually increased the longer Cassie needed for her Answer. When some of the Awakened like Sunny's Cohort from Antarctica had trouble breathing Cassie finally stated her Answer.

"Because what Would it have changed? WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE IF I TOLD YOU? DISTANCE HIM FROM ME? Like you would have to do something like that. Sunny hated me for years because I didn't trust him with protecting you when shit hit the Fan. I did enough to keep him away from me."

"ARE YOU MAD? Like I would have done anything like that. I would have tried to help you find someone else instead. You can't control how you feel and neither can I!"

Cassie was shocked by Nephis but she was tired of always putting her first so now she showed her real emotions for the first time in years.

"Tell me Neph, do you know another Man like Sunny? Someone who is as smart, charming and Strong as he is? I Think we both know that there is Noone out there who is like him. So don't Pretend you actually had a solution for the Problem."

After hearing Cassies answer Nephis snapped. She stood up and was on her way to drag Cassie into another Room to talk this out, and If it was really necessary, fight her until they both reached a limit neither of them was willing to break.

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Both Cassie and Nephis froze after Jet screamed At them.

"You 2 are acting like Teenage Girls fighting over senseless shit that we don't have time for. If you both Love Sunny like you say you do you will get your Ass back on your Chairs before I lose my shit. We are here to help him and don't entertain that Asshole who's having A blast on our expanse. Look at him barely keeping in his excitement. It's making me sick to my stomach."

Both Nephis And Cassie did as they were told. Not just Because they Knew Jet Was right but they were both not in the mood to face the Fury of the Woman who is known as The Soulreaper for A reason.

"It was just Getting interesting. You are such a Killjoy, Soulreaper."

The Sin of Solace sighed while feeling like his future attempts to interrupt the Conversation By drowning Them in hatred for each other would not work any longer.

"So I've been told, but I'm not here to have fun but to help a dear Friend of Mine. Not that you would know anything about that, you Lonely wretch."

She spat angrily at the Sin of Solace who In return just shrugged and got back to the Subject at hand. Because if there's one thing he loved more than To Torment others it was to see the Mad Prince die and for that he still needed them.

"Alright then let's continue, where did we leave off…Oh, right. After the Nightmare ended the Bastard lost 2 things. For one his True name and second, his Connection to the Vile Bitch who Enslaved him. But one important thing he kept, and that was the Crown of Twilight."

The name of that Memory was nothing new to Nephis of course. She knew how powerful it was but had never seen Sunny use it since he came back from their Nightmare. She thought it had been destroyed for some reason so she didn't give it much of a thought.

"Why is that Memory Important? Don't keep us waiting and make us guess, you know why it's important."

Jet was done letting the Sin of Solace keep control of the Conversation so she didn't give him the chance to do so any longer.

"Alright I see that I have taken this a little too far. I will tell you why it's important. It was the last way for the Mad Prince to come back to life. Sadly for him it has not worked as Intended. Or rather not as well as he would have liked."

Jet urged him to continue so he did.

'Is she on her Period or something? She is no fun at all.'

"So… after the freshly Ascended Sunless found himself lacking some essence he summoned the Crown of Twilight to replenish his Essence faster. Only problem is that with the Destruction of the Estuary Key the Memory has been altered. The same thing that kept me from sharing the Knowledge of Corruption with anyone was also responsible for keeping the Runes carved on the side hidden. Those Runes were equally dangerous as my knowledge and with me out of the way the last thing that could Achieve what the Mad Prince had planned all along. To be reborn again by Corrupting Sunless with those Runes or rather the Knowledge that was contained in them."

Not everyone in the Room knew that such knowledge even exists and that it was so dangerous that it could even Cause Corruption in someone's Soul. From those that didn't know that the Jaw dropped a little.

Even Saint Tyris Indifference cracked as she too found herself lacking in keeping her facial Features in Check. Not even her Flaw could contain her Disbelief.

Jet once again urged the Sin of Solace to continue. So he did after Rolling his eyes at her.

"So when he summoned the Crown of Twilight one of his Shadows got a Glimpse at the Runes and in an Instant the Corresponding Core got Corrupted. It seemed like everything about the Mad Prince plan had worked perfectly and he would fully take over the Body of that dumbass. But there was one thing he didn't account for. And this time I'm gonna let you guess because it's just too exciting and Painful at the same Time."

They looked at him indifferently. By now everyone had realized that feeding his excitement and allowing the Sin of Solace to do as it pleases was not an option, so Noone was interested In playing his games any longer.

"You are all lame. I hope you will die when Facing him. Someone else will take care of him eventually."

He laughed again as Sunny's Memories about his actions to stop the Corruption from Spreading flashed Through his mind and filled his nonexistent heart with Joy.

"Fine, I'll tell you what he did. He ripped out the Corrupted core like that piece of Shit Mordret did."
