Shadow deprived of life ( broken trust , a twisted smile )

Chapter 28: 2nd mystery boy

He was... Daniel. After eavesdropping, I know many things. 1-Daniel and Tristan were both close, like brothers. 2-Daniel told this to no one except Aurora. 3-He knows Tristan very well. 4-Aurora has Tristan's main phone. And she may know who the murderer is. Which is Edgar. And if she does know, then she is aware that I work for him. Plus, she told Daniel what I said to her in the elevator. And now, I think Daniel suspects me of something. I am walking on thin ice.

Before I could stop thinking about all these thoughts, Daniel got up and left. The cafeteria went silent, but that silence was short-lived. It was shattered by Aurora shouting, "Stop!" to Daniel, who obviously heard it but acted like he didn't. I called Aiden, who picked up almost immediately. "Found him," I said. "Bring him back," Aiden ordered. I ran after Daniel, but unfortunately, I lost him. So I went towards the bike I came on, and what I see is Aurora on my right, at a small distance, seconds away from getting hit by a car. Subconsciously, I ran to save her life, and I did. It was a golden chance; I took Tristan's phone from her pocket. I wasn't wearing any mask. There is a chance that she remembers my voice, but I took the chance.

"Open your eyes," I said. She opened her eyes. Her face was close to mine. I took a step back and smirked. "Thank—" she began to say before realization hit her. She recognized me. She took a deep breath and started to speak; the words came out quick. "Thank you, from one puppet to the other. Give the queen my greetings." The wind was quiet, but the street was filled with the sounds of horns. After listening to her sentence, I only laughed. Maybe my advice sounded cruel and wicked to her.

"The Queen has a little time left," I said as I drifted off. "Wait!" She called from behind. And I ignored it. Both the queens have a little time left. The wannabe queen is going to die soon. She has about three hours to save herself. Ava? I don't know; that was kind of a guess. George wouldn't just die. He is going to mention someone. And I think it's going to be Ava. Hence, the guess.

I went back into the station; Daniel, upon seeing me, asked, "WHERE. WERE. YOU". 'He knows', I thought. 'He is going to blame me for everything', I was sure. But I will change that by putting Tristan's phone back into his apartment and revealing the murderer, without actually doing it. Before I could answer, a constable walked in. "George committed suicide," the news was big for everyone. And I, also, acted surprised. I feel sad for him. He deserved better.

We went to see his body. From his body, they found my knife. 'I didn't see that coming. I'm so dead. This pawn's duty has come to an end.' But no, not so soon. I will do something. They also found a letter. 'I hope it says something about Ava', I wished. And it came true, because the letter ended with, "You may find the person holding the gun." This sentence was deep. That gun, the murder weapon, belonged to Ava. Edgar gave it to her as a gift.

Back in George's house, during the party held by Edgar, Ava checked George's pocket. She brought out the gun from his pocket, the gun she possessed just a minute ago. 'Clever', I thought at that moment, leaning against the wall, wearing a green hoodie.

Now, let's wait for Ava to come back and be arrested. But will Edgar let his beloved be caught? And punished for his sins? I don't think so.
