Yuta woke up during noon time the next day from the exhaustion of his previous training.
He recalls how the elderly man trained him with his quirk.
He stood from the bed and washed his body firstly and went to the living room to get his lunch. Yuta ate his fill and turned on the tv to see what's happening. He saw the news broadcasting how the heroes were successfully taking villains into custody. "Cut the crap." He muttered as he turned off the tv.
Yuta went back to his room as he laid down to rest his muscles since they're still sour from his recent training.
…[Next day]
Yuta woke up energized and motivated to start his day for another training session. Yuta did his morning routine and climbed up the woods to his training ground.
"You'll be focusing on defense and I will be on offense, so give it your all." The old man instructed Yuta who was prepared to go all out on defense. The old man jumped backwards to keep his distance the same as Yuta.
The old man charged as Yuta pulled up a sand wall blocking the attack of the old man as the sand wall shattered since it wasn't strong enough. The old man attacked simultaneously without sparing Yuta a moment to think of his next attack.
Yuta fired a bullet shaped sand towards the old man at decent speed as the old man barely dodged since he didn't expect Yuta to do that. 'Great, now I can think of something fast in a minute before the next attack.' He managed to get the old man on defense for a few seconds, buying him time for him to come up with a plan.
"Sand prison!!"
Yuta yelled as the old man looked at him impassively, he was interested in what his pupil had ready to defeat him. Sand emerged from the ground, locking the old man's limbs firmly planted to the ground. Yuta covered his hands with sand armament, dashed behind the old man, and dealt a powerful strike to his back.
"ARGHH."
His sensei yelled as the blow dealt a heavy damage on his back as he fell down to the floor. After eight months of instruction, he visualizes exactly how his student came up with a successful strategy to attack him.
"Nicely done, kid." He praised his student's passion for that effort as he raised himself from the floor preparing for a flashy attack which he thought would get Yuta off guard.
Yuta was a few seconds ahead of him in the current situation as he created a clone which was perfect unlike 4 years ago and the sand clone charged towards the old man as it flared up blinding the sight of the man and Yuta charged towards him and slammed his coated fist into the stomach which caused the old man to spurt out blood from his mouth.
'That's it, Yuta.' He encourages himself, seeing the hope he has to counter his master's attack finally starts to work.
"Now you've done it again, brat." The old man cleaned the blood from his mouth and looked at Yuta, who smirked at him as he saw the old man on the ground underneath him.
"I guess you should learn from me since your defense is so poor." Yuta smirked as he taunted the old man who stood up laughing like a mad man. "What's so funny, old man?" Yuta braced himself expecting a surprise attack from the old man but yet there wasn't.
The old man took his combat stance keeping his composure while Yuta watched the old man like a lost rat looking for his mummy. Yuta covered his inner body under his training gears with sand armor to reduce any damage from the attack that's about to come.
With his own stance, he locked eyes with the old man. Taking a deep breath, the old man lunged forward at full speed, making it impossible for Yuta to follow him. He struck Yuta's chest with such force that Yuta flew from the top of the woods down to the bottom.
Due to the massive blow that deflated his armour beneath his clothing, Yuta coughed up a lot of blood. He was able to get his feet up and run at a decent pace to the top of the woodlands.
The old man's eyes widened in shock, not believing his student could have endured such a powerful strike, but he might have suffered numerous fractures from the hit if it weren't for the armour he clad in.
"What's the meaning of this?" The old man couldn't believe his eyes.
"Did you think I wasn't prepared for this kind of attack? I immediately covered my body with sand armour, something I learnt how to do when I was younger, knowing that you would be launching a powerful assault from your posture.." Yuta explained, dusting off the dirt from his clothes.
"If you don't take risks, you can't create a future. I was curious if you could pull a surprise on me but yet, you did something above my expectations." The old man was now able to see how fast the boy grew.
"I told you earlier. Don't underestimate me." When he stated those remarks, Yuta emitted a frigid aura since he despised those traits the most when someone looked down on him as well.
"Oh, scary." The old man chuckled at what he had said, launched another assault, and was taken aback when Yuta shifted from defence to offense.
Yuta grinned as the old man's fists met with his. 'He's up to something', the old man realised when sandy spikes sprung from Yuta's hand and struck him, causing his blood to spill all over the ground.
"Sneaky brat." The old man growled and launched another assault, hitting Yuta, who was still in awe of his strategy, and knocking him to the ground.
"That hurts, old man." Yuta spoke as he rolled in pain.
"Young one, you've done a great job exceeding my expectations. You clung to hope and tried your hardest to not just hit me once but also to counter me in a lot of ways I didn't think you were capable of." The old man was satisfied by the action and the will his young student poured out into striking him.
"As long as I live, there are infinite chances to beat you!" Yuta laughed as he made his statement to his sensei which made him burst into laughter as well.
"You've made me proud, so allow this old man to treat you to your favorite dinner tonight." The old man carried Yuta as they began walking down the woods to the house.
They got home late in the evening after many hours of training as Yuta crawled back to his bedroom to have his bath.
He cleaned up his body and lazily fell down to the bed smiling as he remembered how he countered his sensei and delivered his own blow. He made sure to update Isshin on his success today, but he chose to give him a call after eating lunch while obtaining his strength restored.
"Yuta!" The old man yelled his name as he staggered to the living room where his sensei was. "So what would you love to eat for dinner?" The old man asked, keeping his promise to his student who did so well at the training today.
"I'll have ramen." He was excited to eat his favorite ramen which he enjoyed when his mom made it.
"Okay, give me some minutes." The old man told Yuta as he made his way to the kitchen and began cooking.
The old man dished the ramen and served Yuta who was amazed by his cooking skills and said a quick 'Itadakimastsu' and began eating.
Yuta finished eating his dinner and made his way back to his bedroom and laid his back on the wall sitting on top of his bed. When he dialled Isshin's number, it instantly connected to him.
"Hello." Yuta greeted.
"If it isn't my beloved student. How are you doing lately?" Isshin asked.
"I'm doing great, my training with the old man has been progressing all over the months and behold, I landed a blow against him today and countered several of his surprise attacks." Yuta started explaining every detail of the fight to Isshin.
"Hahahah. I wished I could have seen the look on his face when you countered his attack." Isshin laughed at his old man as he heard what Yuta told him.
"So how are the kids in the dojo?"
"They're probably doing well and some asked about you also."
"Eh…I'm glad to hear that. Anyways, I'll talk to you later."
"Sure."
Yuta disconnected the call from the other end and laid on his bed to rest for his trip back home…
