Chapter 52: Good News To Celebrate.
That same day, doctor Leonardo slowly opened his eyes, blinking away the remnants of a restful sleep. He stretched his arms above his head, feeling the softness of his bed and the warmth of the sunlight streaming through the window.
As he sat up, he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked around his cozy bedroom. Everything was just as he had left it that night before, but something felt different today.
He threw off the covers and got out of bed, padding over to the window to pull back the curtains. The sunlight flooded in, illuminating the room and casting a warm glow over everything.
Doctor Leonardo smiled to himself as he looked out the window. It was a beautiful day today.
And then, his eyes landed on the calendar on his wall.
His heart skipped a beat as he saw the date staring back at him.
It was Krista's birthday.
As soon as doctor Leonardo saw Krista's birthday on the calendar, he felt a surge of excitement and nostalgia.
He quickly got dressed and headed out to shop for Krista's birthday.
He drove to the nearby mall, his mind racing with thoughts of Krista and the happy time they had shared together. He parked his car and rushed into the mall, eager to find the perfect birthday gift for Krista.
First, he went to the bakery to order Krista's favorite cake. A chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. The baker, Natali, was delighted to see doctor Leonardo and asked about Krista. Doctor Leonardo smiled and told her that Krista was at home doing well and today was her first birthday, so he had come to buy her a birthday cake.
Next, doctor Leonardo, went to the store to buy Krista a doll. He also picked up some colorful balloons, streamers, and a big" Happy birthday" banner to decorate the house.
As doctor Leonardo walked through the front door, laden with shopping bags and a big smile on his face, he was greeted by the most incredible sight. Krista, his little bundle of joy, was standing up, holding onto the couch for support.
And then, in a moment that doctor Leonardo would never forget, Krista took her first step. She let go of the couch and took atentative step forward, her little legs wobbly but determined. Doctor Leonardo's eyes widened in surprise as he dropped the shopping bags and rushed over to Krista." Oh, Krista! You are walking! You are walking on your birthday!" he exclaimed, scooping her up in his arms and twirling her around the room.
Krista giggled and squealed with delight, clearly thrilled to be walking and to have her father's undivided attention. Doctor Leonardo couldn't believe his eyes. His little girl was growing up, and she was taking her first step on her very first birthday.
As he held Krista close, doctor Leonardo felt a surge of pride and happiness. This was the best birthday present he could have asked for. Seeing his daughter take her first steps and knowing that she was healthy and happy.
The two of them spent the rest of the morning playing and laughing together, with doctor Leonardo cheering Krista on as she took step after step. They had a special birthday lunch together, with cake and ice cream, and doctor Leonardo couldn't help but feel grateful for this little miracle in his life.
As the day drew to a close, Leonardo looked at Krista with tears in his eyes. "Happy birthday, my little girl," he whispered, hugging her tightly. " I am so proud of you. You are growing up to be an amazing person, and I feel so lucky to be your father."
The day of Rita's final appointment with the doctor finally arrived. She had been waiting for this moment for weeks, and she was eager to hear the doctor's verdict. Would she be given the all clear to resume her normal life, or would she need to continue with treatment?
As she sat in the hospital waiting room, flipping through a magazine, Rita couldn't help but feel a sense of nervous anticipation. She had come so far since her diagnosis with pueperial psychosis, and she was eager to put the experience behind her.
Finally, the nurse called her name, and Rita stood up, smoothing out her clothes as she followed the nurse to the examination room.
The doctor, a kind-faced woman with a warm smile, greeted Rita and began to review her chart. After a few minutes of discussion, the doctor looked up and smiled.
"Rita, I am happy to tell you that you are now fully recovered from pueperial psychosis," she said. You have made excellent progress, and I think it's time for you to start resuming your normal activities, including work."
Rita's face lit up with excitement as she heard the news. She had been waiting for this moment for so long, and it felt amazing to finally have the doctor's approval to start rebuilding her life.
She thanked the doctor and left the hospital, feeling like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. As she walked home, she couldn't wait to share the news with ger parents.
When she arrived home, Rita's parents were in the living room watching television. Rita burst out with a huge smile on her face.
"Mum, Dad, I have some amazing news!" She exclaimed." The doctor says I am fully recovered and can go back to work!"
Her parents looked up, surprised and delighted by the news. They exchanged a happy glance, and then her mother jumped up to hug Rita.
Oh sweetie, we are so proud of you!" her mother exclaimed. " You have worked so hard to get to this point. We know it has not been easy, but you are strong and capable, and we know you will do great things.
Rita's father also came over to hug her, beaming with pride. We are going to celebrate tonight, okay?" he said. Dinner at your favorite restaurant, and maybe even some cake."
