RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 35: LORD FROST

Kaiser appeared before the manor where Brent and his siblings lived. Because they had more grown adults with two married members in their family, they had even more buildings attached to their manor, more than Kaiser's branch, the patriarch's family. The rest only wanted the house because of its historical significance. In terms of size and beauty, it wasn't necessarily the best. After all, Kaiser and his father never bothered to build more houses in their own manor, leaving it just the way it was.

Dust and debris scattered the moment Kaiser landed with Rona in his arms. The slight quake on the ground quickly drew people to the spot. In reality, Kaiser didn't need to make so much noise while appearing before the gate, but he decided to create a grand commotion to attract lots of people. The guards quickly ran out to defend against the invader. Brent and his family's manor had thrice as many guards as that of the patriarch's. But Kaiser never bothered about numbers. The skills of the guards were all that mattered, not their numbers.

"How dare you disturb the young masters and old Lord's rest? Do you have a death wish?" A guard asked, rushing into the dusty fog to find the culprit. Kaiser immediately delivered a little palm strike to his chest, which sent him flying through the air, colliding into his teammates and causing them to lose balance, and finally hitting the gates himself. He fell to the floor twitching and lost consciousness.

"Who is it?" One of the captains barked, making his way forward cautiously.

Kaiser stepped out of the fog with a cold smirk lingering around the corners of his lips.

"Why don't you open your eyes wide and see who I am?" He asked coldly, making the guards startled.

"L.. Lord Kaiser!"

"Second young master!" They stuttered, as cold sweat covered their backs and foreheads.

Kaiser ignored them and stood a few meters away from the gate, with Rona standing beside him, her sword and other weapons strapped to her body. In the dragon clan, guns and explosives were forbidden, especially among the members. You can only fight with your real strength and cultivation weapons if you must.

"Leo Meyer, get down here now!" Kaiser shouted in a loud voice, making sure his voice could be heard from miles away.

"Ah? What's going on? Why is he calling Leo out in such a manner?"

"I heard his little sister had a falling out with Leo; they quarreled. And she was even made to kneel outside all night, so it must be something serious."

"Leo, I know you're inside, get your black ass out immediately. I'm giving you five minutes, if you don't come out on your own, I will go in myself." Kaiser shouted again, his voice cold and aggressive.

Soon, the fog he created cleared, letting the spectators see everything clearly.

"Do you think Leo will come?"

"He has to come. Kaiser is a mad maniac. He will really enter the house if it comes down to it. The only option is to come out and settle it." One of their cousins watching from the side whispered, watching the exchange.

"But coming out is equal to a death sentence, he's no match for Kaiser. The only chance of survival is if the third young master is at home, then they can come out together. I don't believe that if Brent joins the attack, that Kaiser will still have the upper hand."

"That's right, the only way to settle this is if Brent steps in." Someone added, quickly agreeing with the third speaker.

"Not necessarily. The best thing right now is for Brent to hide inside and let Leo go on his own. That's the only way out." A young woman with a purple lightning whip said, stepping out to the front of the crowd. That's right, the woman was Amber, the very same audacious young mistress whom Kaiser used her own weapon to teach a lesson.

"Mmm? How could that be? It's equivalent to a death sentence if Brent doesn't step in."

"No, Brent should stay back for everyone's safety." A young man in ancient cultivator robes said with a smile, stepping into the crowd. He had a smile on his face and was holding an icy sword. His hair was blue, just like his eyes. He was the ice dragon prince, the reclusive fourth young master who never stepped out on a normal day. He inherited his ice attributes from his mysterious mother, making him incredibly powerful. Although he doesn't compete often, people believe he's stronger than Brent, and might even be as strong as Kaiser. Just that he couldn't be bothered about worldly affairs, concentrating on cultivation and research. His face was very handsome, and he looked almost as beautiful as Kaiser, ranking him among the top three handsome faces in the clan.

"Lord Frost!" Amber and the rest quickly greeted. Even Kaiser and Brent don't command such respect. But of course, they rarely saw the enigmatic fourth young master, once in a blue moon, so it was always a feast for their eyes, making them incredibly appreciative of his presence. He was the ice dragon that only showed up once every winter. Meeting such an enigmatic young master always had a different feeling, especially with the cold aura that always surrounded him.

Whereas Lord Kaiser commanded profound fear in the hearts of everyone, Lord Frost was like a heavenly saint worthy of respect and countless adorations.

"Lord Frost, why did you say it's better for Brent to stay back?" One of the younger cousins around fourteen asked, standing before him. He smiled and caressed the boy's head.

"It's because Lord Kaiser is a proud man. He will never hurt Leo personally or beat him up too badly. His pride won't let him. Everyone knows that the power disparity between the both of them is like a deep and uncrossable chasm. Recklessly beating Leo to a pulp will be equal to bullying a child half his size, his little sister's age mate. For someone as arrogant, proud and righteous like Kaiser, such a degradation is a spit on his honor as a respectable warrior. And as for Kaiser, he will rather die than be dishonored. Such a proud person, do you think he will choose to do such a despicable thing in the full glare of everyone?" Frost asked with a smile on his face. Amber found herself smiling too as she watched him.

Lord Frost stood with the others, letting the younger ones hold him and ask questions. This was the difference between him and the others. Whereas the rest form factions, and Kaiser is hot headed, he was different, making him everyone's favorite big brother. No one dares to act out of place or disrespect him, because of his seemingly benevolent nature. Others will come to defend him, without needing him to move a muscle. While Kaiser's smile always seemed to hide a dangerous thought, his smile seemed pure and innocent, just like the whitest of snow.

Kaiser looked back at that moment and his eyes met Lord Frost who was watching him absent minded. He smiled at him, and Lord Frost bowed his head slightly in acknowledgement, returning the smile. It seemed that even the prickly Lord Kaiser had a soft spot for the Frost young master. They used to be friends after all, till each began to focus more on their branch of the family.

"Leo, are you coming or should I come pick you up? Five minutes is up!" Kaiser announced coldly, making lots of people check their watches.

"It seems like the show is about to begin." An eager person whispered, speaking the thoughts on the minds of everyone.
