Chapter 151: HATCHING A PAYBACK PLAN
Miao Miao's face turned white as sheet as she saw Anthony leaving.
"Tong Tong, where are you going? You won't leave me behind, right?" She shouted the moment Tong Tong's hand tightened on the reins.
Tong Tong sighed in exasperation and her shoulders dropped helplessly.
"What do you want me to do? Acting like this won't help us. Look, young master is already moving."
She jumped down from her horse and motioned towards it with her jaw while looking at Miao Miao.
"Get on. Baobao will carry you while I ride Xinglan Jie's horse."
Miao Miao, who was still panicking, shook her head.
"What if it goes out of control and hurts me? I don't want to."
Tong Tong was very angry at this point.
"What harm can it possibly do to you when we're here? The worst that can happen is you falling off the saddle."
"But… but… that's it. If I fall off, I might break a bone or at least scrape myself. I…"
"Getting hurt by falling down, and getting killed by a group of bandits, or worse a monster, which one is better? This place isn't safe, we can't camp here. I don't know if you're trying to get us killed. You have been causing problems all along the journey. Miao Miao, if you won't ride any of the horses, I'm leaving you behind. Baobao is my horse, I will talk to it so it won't hurt you."
But Miao Miao kept quiet, not making a move to climb the horse as she fiddled with her gown.
"Why are you still delaying? Now we can no longer see the young master's silhouette, he has gone far. If anything attacks us because of your silly attitude, what are we going to do?"
Just then, a wolf howled in the distance and Miao Miao yelped. She quickly ran to the horse. But just as fast, she turned back.
"I can't get on, help me."
Tong Tong sighed and placed both hands on top of her head, silently mourning her fate at being entangled with such a selfish cousin who is terrified of pain and only cared about herself. She had been showing little signs at home, but it was nothing outrageous like this period, probably because she was trying to gain approval from the villagers and maintain her reputation. But with no one watching now and no leadership position to vie for, she has gone unhinged, doing as she pleased.
"Miao Miao, I'm not feeling healthy, I can't carry you up."
Miao Miao looked at her foot, then at her.
"I only need a little boost to add to my weight. You can give me a hand so that I will be able to reach it."
"You want to use my back as a stepping stool?" Tong Tong asked, her heart running cold.
"Sister, if there was another option, I won't ask for help."
Tong Tong clenched her fists and knelt beside the horse, bowing down till her back became horizontal like a stool. Miao Miao stepped on her back and got on the horse. She made sure to stomp on her numerous times, scraping her with her shoe while pretending she was losing her footing and was only stomping all over her to regain balance.
Anthony who was ahead of them froze. He had seen what happened through the mirror formation on Tong Tong's hairpin.
Miao Miao smiled in satisfaction and grabbed the reins.
"You can go now, let's hurry." She said in an ingratiating tone. The horse who saw what she did to his master reared a bit making her scream in horror as her heart skipped multiple beats.
The horse was neighing angrily and shaking its body.
Tong Tong stood up and patted its back.
"Baobao, be good now. Carry her gently, let's hurry to join our young master."
The horse quieted down and she went to Xinglan's. The horse looked at her and knelt, allowing her to get on without problem. He was surprisingly meek with her, nothing like the stubborn spirited horse everyone knew about.
Tong Tong's back was bleeding, Miao Miao reopened the knife wounds when she climbed on her back earlier, making the gauze Anthony wrapped around her wet with blood, which in turn soaked her clothes.
Two drops of tears fell from her eyes onto the horse's back and she quickly blinked the rest back. Miao Miao slapped the horse carrying her to urge it forward, but it won't move.
"Baobao, let's go." The moment Tong Tong finished speaking, the horse raced forward. Miao Miao felt angry about being ignored by the horse, but the horse was not hers. It made perfect sense that it wouldn't listen to her till Tong Tong asked it to.
Miao Miao kept urging the horse forward till it raced off, leaving Tong Tong far behind. Tong Tong immediately followed. Xinglan's horse was a strong one, it soon closed up the distance as they rushed to meet up with him.
Anthony clenched his fists tightly as he watched what happened.
"That bitch. I should kill her before I continue my journey. Otherwise, she will continue to make their lives miserable. How can someone who claims to be innocent and loving do this to people she calls her beloved sisters? With a friend like that, there would be no need for enemies. She would be enough to bring down pains and calamities into their lives." He blurted out, his fingers instinctively clenching around Xinglan's waist.
He was only tolerating Miao Miao because the other two had done him no wrong, and they will never agree to leave the entitled princess behind.
"I need to think of a solution fast. I can't leave knowing they have this slave mindset."
He brought the horse to a stop till they caught up with him. Tong Tong's eyes were a little bit teary, but it was not that visible because of the darkness. He looked at Miao Miao who had a pretty and innocent smile on her face. She was looking quite fulfilled. It didn't take a sage to know that she was finally feeling better after venting her anger on Tong Tong by reminding her of her place as a servant beneath her, only worthy of being a stepping stool beneath her shoes.
'Bitch! I will wipe off that smirk on your face soon enough. Pretentious bastard!'
One thing was certain, before the night was over, he would teach her a horrifying lesson she would never forget.
