Rise of The Abandoned Husband

Chapter 973 A Twisted Sacred Ceremony

Alberto Sean let out a soft sigh. "The way your bloodlines merged together... it's really something I never imagined possible."

I shot Alberto Sean a cold stare. "What's that supposed to mean?"

Alberto Sean glanced at Zora Solomon standing next to him. "Mind stepping aside?"

"Move your own damn self and screw off!" Zora Solomon spat back.

Their relationship had started off decent enough, but as time went on, Zora Solomon had grown to dislike Alberto Sean more and more, so he wasn't about to show him any respect.

Alberto Sean's brow creased slightly. He was clearly annoyed but didn't bother getting into an argument.

He just stayed put and gave a thin smile. "You know something? Usually, it's pretty damn hard for different people's bloodlines to mix together. Anyone who can get Mabel Sean's bloodline is basically heaven's chosen."

"But your bloodline and Mabel's? They combined in no time flat and showed off even stronger power!"

"It's like... one plus one equals way more than two. You getting what I'm saying?" Alberto Sean said with a heavy sigh.

The irritation on my face was getting harder to hide.

"I've gotten all the best parts of both your bloodline and Mabel's. Which means my bloodline is now the strongest one out there." There was clear pride in Alberto Sean's voice as he said this.

"So that makes you a mutt, right?" Zora Solomon snorted at that moment.

When he heard that, Alberto Sean's face twisted up with rage!

I couldn't help but flash Zora Solomon a big thumbs up.

I hadn't expected the usually quiet Zora Solomon to have such a sharp tongue.

"Zora Solomon, do you have any idea what you just said?" Alberto Sean shot back icily.

Zora Solomon let out a harsh laugh. "You mixed two different bloodlines together, what else would that make you besides a mutt?"

Alberto Sean's eyes narrowed into slits. "Zora Solomon, I've been putting up with your crap for way too long. Don't push your luck."

"I'm not scared of you!" Zora Solomon jumped up from his seat.

"You want a fight? I'm in!"

Right then, Bella Tad came running over.

I slowly got to my feet and said with contempt, "Alberto Sean, you and I have been heading for this fight for a while now. How about we finish it today?"

Alberto Sean looked at the group of us standing there, raised an eyebrow and said, "So you're all planning to jump me?"

"Don't need to, I can handle you one-on-one!" Zora Solomon shouted.

"I'm sick of always being second best!"

Alberto Sean squinted and sneered. "Don't be in such a hurry, I'll give you your shot."

"Get lost!" Bella Tad cursed.

Alberto Sean gave a cold snort, then walked away without another word.

"Damn, I can't stand looking at that guy." Zora Solomon couldn't stop himself from cursing.

"I used to think he was some kind of gentleman, but turns out he's fake and rotten all the way through."

I nodded. "Exactly, he acts all polite and classy, but he's a total piece of shit underneath."

Even as I said this, I could sense that Alberto Sean right now was incredibly powerful.

That kind of power - I'd never felt anything like it from someone at the same level.

"He and I are going to have a brutal fight eventually." The thought crossed my mind.

After that, everyone took their seats and waited for the meeting to begin.

Soon enough, a face I recognized showed up.

It was Leticia, who'd been missing for several days.

He walked over and sat down close to me.

"Leticia, so you made it too," I said to him.

Leticia's voice was cold. "Since this is the Capital City Martial Arts Association's event, of course I wouldn't miss it."

Ever since Ms. Zackary died, Leticia hated the Capital City Martial Arts Association just as much as I did.

"Your power... it feels like it's gotten stronger?" Sensing the energy coming off Leticia, I couldn't help being surprised.

Leticia nodded. "Yeah, I've had some breakthroughs during this time of training."

I had to admit Leticia really had talent.

"By the way, I'll introduce you to a friend when I get the chance." Right then I thought about the Crane.

If I could get Leticia to the Crane's demon city, it would probably help him grow a lot stronger.

Time kept ticking by. Before long, the man with the mustache also slipped into the scene.

Of course, he didn't come say hi to me, just found a corner to hide in.

In what felt like no time, it was already noon.

As the sun reached its peak, Iris Darren and Garcia Coleman showed up too.

"What exactly are you planning to do?" Garcia Coleman couldn't help asking.

Iris Darren put his hands behind his back. "I'm going to put on a grand and sacred ceremony."

"Ceremony? What kind of ceremony?" Garcia Coleman asked, confused.

Iris Darren ignored his question. Instead, he looked out at the crowd.

Using his inner strength, he spoke slowly. "Today, I'm going to put on a show for all of you, an incredible show!"

"A show?"

All at once, the crowd started getting restless.

Everyone was talking and full of questions.

"I've spent a whole month getting ready for this performance. You should all feel lucky to see it." Iris Darren went on.

With that, Iris waved his hand, and dozens of white bones suddenly appeared all around the Martial Arts Hall.

The crushing pressure made it hard to breathe.

Seeing all those white bones, everyone got a bad feeling.

"What the hell is he up to? Is he trying to trap us?" Bella Tad frowned.

Some other people sensed the danger and tried to leave.

But when they got to the exit, one of the white bones waved its hand and crushed their heads.

"Why is everyone in such a rush to leave before the show even starts?" Iris Darren said, shaking his head a little.

Everyone's faces went pale on the spot.

The whole atmosphere got stranger and stranger.

"Ladies and gentlemen, what you're about to see is a technique from ten thousand years ago, a sacred and powerful technique!"

Iris Darren raised both hands and started chanting.

Suddenly, several pillars of light shot up from all around in the distance!

One, two, three... Eight pillars total!

These eight light pillars stretched up to the sky, spreading a weird aura quickly around them!

"What... What is that?"

"What are those eight light pillars that just appeared?"

I felt uneasy too.

Those eight light columns, with their incredibly strange aura, made everyone's skin crawl.

"The Sect-raising technique of the Immortal Slaying Sect?" Right then, Saron's voice echoed in my mind.

"Sect-raising technique? What's that?" I asked urgently.

Saron's tone was pretty serious. "According to what's recorded, the Immortal Slaying Sect was able to build a really powerful sect using this Sect-raising technique!"

"This technique is seriously twisted - it pulls divine consciousness from people on a massive scale and uses it for itself!"
