Chapter 969 A God Named Saron
After I put on the silver hoop charm, I settled down beside it.
"Since we've got a deal now, we should be straight with each other, right?" I said.
"Hmm," he answered reluctantly.
I grinned and said, "Then let me ask you—what's your name, what was your old cultivation level, and who stuck you in here?"
The string of questions clearly ticked him off.
But after a few seconds, he finally spoke up, "I can't remember my name. All I know is I once had a title—'First God of Slaughter.' Back then, I..."
"So you don't have a name?" I cut him off.
"Since you're nameless, I'll give you one. Let's see... Starting today, you're called... Saron," I mumbled.
"Damn you! I'm..."
"Saron, what's your cultivation level?" I interrupted again.
He snapped angrily, "Don't call me Saron! Call me God of Slaughter!"
"Sure thing, Saron," I said, nodding thoughtfully.
"If I'm right, you should be... Peak Form Martial Saint? Or Mighty Realm?" I guessed.
Saron huffed and said, "I told you, Martial Saints mean nothing to me! Back then, I was just a hair away from breaking through to Mighty Realm and reaching Reversion Void Stage! Too bad I got sealed before that happened."
"Reversion Void?" I was a bit shocked.
So far, I'd never run into a Reversion Void Stage expert!
A Martial Saint sits at Nascent Soul Stage, and above nascent soul comes Mighty Realm, also called Divine Annihilator.
Once you break through Divine Annihilator, you hit Reversion Void!
Reversion Void has another name too—Saint, or Ancient Saint!
They say people at Reversion Void Stage wield incredible powers and can wreck the world with just a wave of their hand!
That kind of strength is seriously insane!
"Even a master about to enter Reversion Void Stage got crushed, so whoever crushed you must be something else," I muttered.
Saron snorted, "Obviously! Though if I'd made it to Reversion Void Stage, who knows who would've won."
I didn't worry about that stuff. I waved my hand and said, "Tell me, after I give you a thousand spiritual stones, what level can you hit?"
"A measly thousand spiritual stones are worthless. At best, they'd only get me back to Martial Saint Realm," he grumbled.
I frowned.
Martial Saint Realm? That's way worse than I hoped.
"Of course, if you've got five thousand, I might be able to touch Mighty Realm," Saron said, switching topics.
"Five thousand... That's pretty steep," I scratched my head.
Right now, all the spiritual stones I had probably added up to around five thousand total.
Handing them all over to him would really sting.
"You won't give up a mere five thousand spiritual stones? When I'm back in action, I'll help you make them back," Saron complained.
"Really?" I asked.
"Absolutely!" Saron said with confidence.
I thought it over and then waved, "Alright, let me think about it."
After that, I walked straight out of the Spatial Magic Artifact.
Once I was back in my body, I pulled out the spiritual stones from another Spatial Magic Artifact.
At first glance, there were roughly five thousand total.
These spiritual stones packed unbelievable power, and it hurt to think about giving them up.
But I really needed a strong ally right now.
"They say the Second Secret Realm has Heavenly Vanilla. If Saron can get me to the Second Secret Realm to grab some Heavenly Vanilla, then these five thousand spiritual stones would be worth it," I thought.
Without Heavenly Vanilla, I couldn't possibly reach Martial Saint Realm, and my golden core would take even more damage.
Thinking about this, I clenched my teeth and said, "Five thousand it is. You can't catch a wolf without giving up a sheep!"
So I stuffed all these spiritual stones into the Spatial Magic Artifact.
The moment I put them in, my divine sense followed them inside.
Inside the Spatial Magic Artifact, spiritual stones were dropping into the abyss one after another.
I stood next to Saron, quietly watching him soak up the spiritual stones.
One by one, the spiritual stones vanished into the light, like they meant nothing to him.
The second they made contact, they melted like snow hitting fire, gone without a trace.
The whole thing went fast. In just thirty minutes, five thousand spiritual stones were history.
"That quick?" I couldn't help being shocked.
That flicker of light went quiet, like it had crashed into deep sleep.
"Saron?" I called out carefully.
Right then, the light started swaying.
He pulled together at crazy speed and shifted into human shape almost instantly!
This guy was only about 4.7 feet tall and looked pretty ugly.
But unlike the mustache guy, this person's face was packed with vicious, murderous energy, and his eyes were terrifying!
Even I got caught off guard by how he looked.
"Saron?" I called out carefully again.
"Say that again, I'm not called Saron!" He roared furiously.
I smiled and said, "Saron, you talked big about how strong you are, but why do you look like this?"
Saron squinted slightly, and with a smirk, he said, "You know why I killed someone for the first time?"
I shook my head, "No clue."
"It was because someone called me ugly," Saron said coldly.
"From that day on, anyone who called me ugly got killed!"
"All together, I've murdered at least hundreds of thousands of people! How's that? Scared yet?"
I was really surprised and said, "Hundreds of thousands of people called you ugly? Your feelings must be really crushed."
"Be honest with me, have you ever cried secretly under your blanket?" I said with a grin.
