After they had eaten and became comfortable, Silk expressed his gratitude for the food.

The so-called soup actually had a lot of meat and vegetables added. So, it was a complete meal.

Before, they had suspected that Commander Qui was doing something wrong, but they had not expected him to be capturing superpower users for human experiments.

In fact, since they had also voluntarily undergone the experiments, it wasn't something they were too much against as long as it was done with the consent of the test subject like themselves.

Moreover, their experiments had been conducted to empower them and make them stronger so that they could protect their country.

However, the fact that the commander was capturing innocent citizens was unacceptable. And although they had tried to bury the truth, their squad was called elite because it was the best.

Even if Vortex and Silk were soldiers who were trained to follow orders, they refused to be used as knives to butcher ordinary citizens.

Therefore, their decision came easily after finding out about the people who had escaped from the lab.

"Yes, we have made a decision. We will join you. However, we hope that your motive is different from that of the people in power.

All they want is to amass more power. We want to serve the people." Silk was a very straightforward man, and Leng Pan liked that about him.

At least, he didn't start making excuses and stuff for his choice. He stated what he wanted and what his expectations were.

"Don't worry about that. The reason we need people who have taken an oath to protect the country like you guys is because our goal is to protect the interests of the common people.

We are aware that organizations like the military, government, and other tycoons have already raided most places that held a lot of supplies and transferred everything without caring about what the common citizens would do once they are forced to fend for themselves.

We are also aware that those higher-ups will probably use those supplies to entice the people who are dying of hunger and thirst to work for them or sacrifice themselves for their loved ones.

Let's just say, we have figured out more than you could imagine.

We also know that you guys underwent experiments in the past to change your physique and gained abilities." Leng Pan was quite detailed, scaring the two men into astonishment.

They had thought that since many products now had superpowers, even if they exposed themselves, nothing would happen and no one would suspect anything.

"Don't be surprised that we know about your matter. We came across your data in an abandoned laboratory in a ghost town a long distance from the city.

What you don't know is that your experiment was a cover for something more evil." Lu Zhen said, but since he didn't like to talk too much to other people, he stopped there.

Seeing how her husband had kept quiet as if that was enough information for the two, Leng Pan sighed and decided to take over.

She smiled at the two puzzled soldiers and continued where her husband stopped.

That laboratory was built to research something that is now destroying the world. Yours was meant to cover what else was going on in that lab. That was why even though the researchers succeeded in creating powerful soldiers like you guys, they didn't make much even when they already had the data.

They were the ones who created zombies and when the meteorites fell, the gas they produced catalyzed and spread the virus together with whatever else they were carrying to the entire world.

The results are the devastation you see today.

Unfortunately, those people have not stopped with the experiments. Now that there are things like some special meteorites that carry a kind of catalyst that could enhance power and strength, Commander Qui wants it to make his army of zombies stronger.

You tell me, the current zombies have already overwhelmed humans to the point of almost extinction. If more powerful ones emerge, what do you think will happen?" Leng Pan was also straightforward.

She didn't want to keep beating around the bush and waste both their time. It was not worth it.
