Chapter 32: Home Invasion
On the East Mediterranean Sea.
A huge shockwave split the sea, obliterating the figures within it to dust.
Sigrdrifa stood on the sea surface, where the ocean for hundreds of miles around had solidified into a massive sheet of ice. She took a deep breath and swung a terrifying shockwave towards Miel in the distance once more.
Miel only calmly reached out, pulling a figure from the void to block the shockwave, which was enough to split the heavens and the sea.
Demigod of the Madness Law, Robert.
"How does it feel to face your father again?" Miel asked with a smile, while the expressionless Robert coldly waved his hand, causing all the ice blocks around to shatter, forming a dense array suspended in the air.
The shattered ice accelerated and shot forward, and Sigrdrifa silently swung her Battle Axe quickly, with the North Wind Axe tracing a giant arc to freeze all the speeding ice blocks.
Suddenly, Mia appeared behind Sigrdrifa, her dagger rapidly stabbing towards her back.
Sigrdrifa swung her axe in a backwards motion, and thunder erupted around her, but Mia had already reappeared above her head.
Black Particles!
This twisted space had no physical form, thus it passed directly through the cold air and thunder around her, piercing Sigrdrifa through the ice surface and plunging her into the deep sea below.
Within seconds, a giant whale broke through the ice surface and leaped out again. Sigrdrifa fixed herself onto its spine with one hand, which was covered with frost.
"Mia!" she roared as she threw the North Wind Axe.
The North Wind Axe traced a trajectory through the air, going straight for Mia in mid-air. The latter swiftly flickered several times, quickly flashing thousands of meters away before suddenly coming to a stop.
Mind Line! It was Medea's Mind Line!
A blinding radiance flashed by, and Eleanor had already stopped in front of her, with golden-red Judgement Flames thundering down, igniting the entire sea area, forcing Medea, who was hiding, to escape into the Subconscious Ocean.
The pursuing North Wind Axe was blocked by Eleanor with the Unyielding Holy Sword, flying back towards Sigrdrifa, while that Eleanor had already scattered and disappeared.
Even though Eleanor was summoned from a parallel world, she still relied on her firm will to resist the erosion of the Eden Fruit, autonomously canceling the summoning state and returning.
Miel, who had saved Mia, exhaled slightly, as the battles with Sigrdrifa and others had too many variables, scattering future lines into countless branches, making it impossible for her to quickly account for all of them. She could only swiftly choose a relatively safer route.
Before she could use her ability again, countless seaweeds suddenly surged rapidly from below the sea surface, entangling her ankles, then quickly swelling and completely wrapping her up in an instant.
Then they collapsed down.
Trapped by the seaweed, Miel was transferred away once again by Mia using the Ripple Sword, the two of them retreating several kilometers away, only to see Sigrdrifa had already summoned a Thunderbird, riding it in relentless pursuit towards them.
"Such a hassle!" Mia spat to the side, "Sigrdrifa keeps spreading her domain, I can't teleport her away! Nora and Medea have no idea where they've hidden... Miel, can you locate them? I want to throw them to the Abyss Lower Level!"
Miel shook her head slightly, once again pulling a slender figure from the void.
This time, the one who appeared was the Storm Empress Theodora. Her figure swayed up, lifting her left hand towards the sky, causing the sky to immediately fill with clouds, while her right hand holding the golden orb cross pointed towards Sigrdrifa.
A huge tornado suddenly arose from the sea surface, sweeping towards the Thunderbird. On its back, Sigrdrifa swung her axe heavily, a strike of [Termination], instantly freezing and dissipating the violently spinning hurricane.
Then she was smashed down into the sea surface by a meteor descending from the sky.
"Thira, fuck your mother!" Echoed her final scream, resounding in this deserted sea area.
"Miel, why don't we use the ultimate escape strategy?" Seeing Sigrdrifa being smashed into the seabed, Mia didn't relax her vigilance on the surroundings, quickly asking.
The so-called ultimate escape strategy referred to Mia teleporting the entire ship, while Miel continuously pulled out future states to cover her, thereby restoring her Spirituality.
Doing so would allow them to reach the Suez River in advance, though at the cost of depleting almost all of their Spirituality because of teleporting with the ship, making entry into the heart of the South Continent rather dangerous afterward.
Of course, considering they were currently unable to rid themselves of Medea, Sigrdrifa, and Nora's relentless pursuit, they might as well use their Spirituality on the escape strategy... It was more worthwhile than wasting it blocking their pursuers.
Miel pondered slightly, only to see the whale breaking through the sea surface and leaping again, with Sigrdrifa on its back, not a trace of injury on her body.
"That fish again!" Mia complained irritably.
This whale was obviously Nora's handiwork, she had strengthened it with the Evolution Law, granting it vitality and speed almost akin to a Leviathan. Although Mia could teleport anywhere using the Ripple Sword and freely attack the enemy's vital points, she was helpless against such a super tough beast.
"Nora is probably inside that fish's belly," Miel suddenly said, "And... this whale seems to have the ability to heal through contact."
"Is that so?" Mia thought, no wonder Sigrdrifa wasn't hurt at all despite not activating Body Conceptualization throughout the fight. It seemed the opposing side was also attempting to conserve Spirituality.
"Then should I teleport inside the whale and take down Nora?" She quickly made a throat-slitting gesture.
"No." Miel shook her head, and Theodora in the air reacted as well.
In the massive storm, a gigantic column of light suddenly broke through the clouds, striking the leaping whale. Sigrdrifa quickly leaped back to evade, the spot where she had stood burned with a massive hole by the light column.
Amidst the miserable wails, the severely injured whale plunged back into the sea, instantly staining the surrounding waters red.
"Great job!" Mia excitedly pumped her fists, "Now even Nora won't be able to command that whale again, right?"
Miel, however, did not show any ease, frowning and pondering for a moment, then suddenly asked:
"Wait, where's Medea?"
"Medea?" Mia puzzled, "She tried to control me with the Mind Line just now, then probably gave up, I haven't seen her make a move since."
"No!" Miel finally realized, feigning terror, "She's on our ship!"
Mia's expression changed slightly, promptly teleporting back to the ship with Miel.
On the deck, fully armed and ready-for-battle sailors had surrounded Medea.
Medea was holding little Lilith, her face frosty, unwilling to speak.
Seeing Miel and Mia return, little Lilith in her arms began to cry loudly, tears streaming down:
"Aunt Miel! Aunt Mia! Daddy was captured by the bad guys!"
