Chapter 31: Lilith's Fright
Just as Nora thought, Aske has been having an extremely tough time lately.
For instance, he can't sleep well every day, is stuck in the cabin lacking exercise, and is occasionally bullied by Mia and Miel working together, leading to him looking somewhat exhausted lately.
Seeing his health deteriorating daily, little Lilith was also worried, so she subtly reminded her father not to be too submissive. If the two aunts were bullying him, he could fight back—mommy and the other aunts would soon be here!
Aske gave a slightly awkward and embarrassed smile, patted his obedient daughter's head, and said it was fine, her father knew his limits.
Seeing her persuasion was ineffective, little Lilith chose to make a night raid to find out what exactly her two aunts were up to.
However, whether sneaking in beforehand, stealing the keys, or hanging upside down from the ship's porthole, she would always be discovered by the pink-haired half-elf aunt, then sent away by Aunt Mia.
This made little Lilith feel a frequent sense of frustration and anger, so she used her age advantage and cute appearance to get acquainted with other sailors on the ship.
However, no matter which pirate sailor she subtly questioned about "what father and the two aunts were up to," everyone invariably gave a knowing smile and told her it was an "adult battle."
Damn adult battles!
So, little Lilith fully realized that looking for these people was completely useless. Clearly, the two aunts had informed them in advance, and they would not leak even a sliver of information to her.
Additionally, through charming demon's innate talents, she also keenly sensed that Mia was the nominal leader of this fleet, but based on everyday conversations and a series of information, the one truly in charge should actually be Aunt Miel.
Combining this with prior experiences, little Lilith could confirm that Aunt Miel was not someone she could deal with right now, and the sailors she controlled weren't easy targets to breach either.
Instead, Aunt Mia, because of her role as the apparent team leader and her not-so-bright intellect, was very suitable as a breakthrough point.
Since she wanted to marry dad, little Lilith could use her identity as a daughter to extract necessary information from her… but only when Aunt Miel and father were absent, otherwise her little tricks would soon be easily seen through.
So, after a long period of observation, little Lilith finally confirmed that Aunt Miel would return to her cabin to write in her diary around 4 p.m. every day and wouldn't come out during that period. As for her father, he would always stay in the captain's cabin reading, rarely coming out as well.
Therefore, that day at 4 p.m., after confirming Miel returned to her room, little Lilith began running around searching for Mia's whereabouts.
Mia's movements were unpredictable; sometimes she was on the deck strolling, sometimes at the top of the mast in the lookout to enjoy the view, and sometimes she wasn't even on the ship. Being a demigod of the Black Hole Law, long-distance teleportation was as easy for her as going out on a trip.
Little Lilith could only rely on luck to see if she could find her at this time point. If not, she'd wait for the next day afternoon, for she'd eventually have a chance.
A few minutes later, when she rounded to the back of the deck, she saw Mia landing right there.
"Aunt Mia!" little Lilith immediately called sweetly, spreading her arms and running towards her. Mia lifted her head, a cold killing intent flashing in her eyes.
Little Lilith immediately stopped her pace. Although the opponent concealed it well, she still sensed something was wrong.
Aunt Mia… just wanted to kill me?!
"Aske?" Mia showed a strange expression, lowering her head to sniff her neck, "It's his scent, alright."
Her voice low and eerie, giving an impression of coldness and ruthlessness, however, when mentioning "Aske," that initial killing intent disappeared.
Little Lilith felt as if she received a great pardon, promptly and subtly reminding:
"Ah, you mean father? Father is currently resting in the cabin."
She deliberately emphasized "father", hinting that she was Aske's daughter. As expected, the other party showed an understanding smile, patted her head, and her tone became kind and gentle:
"Hmm, I have something to discuss with him, can you take me to meet him?"
Take you to meet him? Can't you just teleport over with the Ripple Sword?
Little Lilith felt very odd. However, despite the opponent dispelling her hostility, she didn't let her guard down immediately, and while agreeing, she thought of escaping later to quickly find Aunt Miel and tell her about this strange incident.
Yes, although Aunt Miel always opposed her, in such critical times, the first one little Lilith thought of was still Miel.
To soothe the mood of this strange Mia, little Lilith could only lead her, bouncing along, down the deck.
There were many sailors coming and going along the way, some were working, most were just chatting. Little Lilith felt an urge to ask them for help, but quickly suppressed it with sanity.
She shouldn't risk whether these sailors could take on this "Mia," because if not, her situation could turn dire. Comparatively, the father, already at the demigod rank, had trustworthy strength to tackle threats… This was a rational judgment, not to fool daddy.
Mia followed behind her, calmly glancing around, seemingly memorizing things inadvertently. Meanwhile, her demeanor and expression gradually shifted from initially cold to lively and enthusiastic—almost indistinguishable from the real Mia, making little Lilith, sneakily observing with her peripheral vision, dumbfounded.
She couldn't even confirm if someone was impersonating Mia or if Mia herself was slowly escaping her original odd state.
No! If this continues, father will also get deceived by her! I need to find a way to inform father!
Arriving at the captain's cabin door, little Lilith swiftly pushed the door open, calling:
"Dad…"
Before her words could finish, Mia had already slipped past her, simultaneously pushing her lightly back.
"Stupid squad leader!" she mimicked, in a tone unique to Mia's silliness, and then the cabin door was shut.
Little Lilith: ???
She immediately rushed to push the cabin door, but it didn't move, clearly already locked from inside.
Stupid dad! This person locked the door right after entering, even locking your precious daughter outside, didn't you notice anything wrong?!
The almost-exploding little Lilith then realized: apparently, when real Aunt Mia and Aunt Miel were inside, they too locked the cabin door, leaving her outside…
So, how could father detect anything unusual!
Therefore, little Lilith quickly turned around, rushing to Aunt Miel's adjacent cabin.
Then she was stunned to find the door unlocked, and inside, it was empty.
Oh no, now… it's all over.
