Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Different Than Others
Five years have passed since my reincarnation.
I sit in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. My dark hair is just like my dad's, and my red eyes, too, are from him. However, there's a slight streak of white in my front hair—something I got from my mom. It looks pretty cool, honestly.
Leaning back in the chair, I mutter to myself, "She was right about my looks. I do look kinda cool."
But as I say that, my mind flashes back to my past life. A time when I couldn't even afford proper clothes. My body was covered in injuries, my soul weighed down by hopelessness.
I glance at my reflection again and smile faintly.
"Well, things are different now," I say to myself.
I stand and head downstairs. As I walk into the kitchen, I see Veori cooking. She's still working for us after all these years. She's 22 now.
In my old world, parents would have likely forced someone like her to marry a wealthy man by now, even if she didn't love him. But here, she's still free to live her own life.
Thinking of her age reminds me of my sister. She would be turning 13 this year... too bad I can't be there to celebrate her birthday.
My thoughts are interrupted as I turn and see my mom sitting on the couch, holding her belly.
She's pregnant.
Yep, I'm going to have a younger sibling.
I can't help but chuckle to myself. Dad must've been working overtime for this one.
Wait... Bruh, what am I even talking about?
I shake my head, trying to clear my mind, and make my way down to the basement.
Once inside, I close my eyes and stand still. Slowly, my body begins to glow. The air around me feels lighter, and everything in the room—chairs, plates, papers—starts to float.
I raise my hand, and with a small gesture, I gather everything into one spot, then gently set it all down.
This is my telekinesis.
According to my mom and the books I've read, no one can lift objects heavier than themselves. And you're supposed to see the object to float it. But somehow, I can bypass those limitations.
I believe it's because of my dad's genetics. His red eyes are special, passed down through generations. They allow the user to sense everything within a certain range. According to him, the limit is 20 meters.
But me? I can sense up to 20 kilometers.
It's insane. I know every spot within that range like the back of my hand. With this ability, I'll never get lost. I can sense things, even if I can't see them, and move them with my mind.
Of course, I keep this a secret. Who knows how people would react? They might think I'm cursed or something.
As for how I'm able to use telekinesis in the first place...
I have a theory, but it's still just a guess.
For now, though, I'll keep living as a normal kid. No need to overcomplicate things.
