Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The World I Am In Right Now
It's been five months since I was reincarnated. It looks like my name now is Zeyu Lefon in this world. The man with black hair, who looks so much like me, is my father, Zemo Lefon. And the beautiful woman with white hair? That's my mother, Yui Lefon.
I started walking just two months after my birth. I could understand the language of this world too. My parents were both surprised and overjoyed by this, but you know what's even more surprising? This world... it has magic.
I've seen my mom make objects float in the air. The maid at our house, Veori Kaito, uses fire and water magic to handle chores. By the way, Veori has purple hair and violet eyes—she looks really cool, and she's only 17 years old. Despite her beauty, she works as a maid due to her family's financial struggles. It's clear she's a hard worker, doing everything she can to help her family. What a remarkable person.
As I'm lost in thought, my mom's voice calls me back to reality.
"Zeyu, Zeyu!" I turn around and see her. She beckons me to come to her. I toddle over, and she lifts me up into her arms.
"Look at my baby boy! He's so grown up!" she says.
From behind, my dad chuckles and says, "He's just five months old, honey. What do you mean by grown up?"
Mom replies, "Shut up, darling! He started walking at just one month. He's sooooo strong!" she laughs, squeezing me with affection.
Dad laughs heartily, "Yeah, he's my son after all, muahahahaha!"
Mom rolls her eyes but smiles, "He's going to be so handsome when he grows up, just like me! Mwa mwa!" She starts kissing me on the cheeks.
After a moment, she calls out to Veori, handing me over to her. "Look after Zeyu, okay? We'll be out for work."
Veori nods, "Of course, ma'am. Stay safe and have a good time."
Mom smiles brightly. "Sure. Don't forget to rest as well. Bye!" With that, she heads out, closing the door behind her.
Veori sets me in a chair and gets back to her work around the house. I just watch her as she moves about. Well, what else can I do? I'm still a child, after all.
While watching her, Veori raises her hand, and a glow surrounds it. Suddenly, the table in front of her starts to float in mid-air. She moves it around effortlessly, and I'm in awe. This magic is incredible.
She notices my wide-eyed reaction and places the table back down gently. She walks over to me, smiling. "Do you like magic, young master?"
I nod enthusiastically, my eyes sparkling with excitement. She smiles again.
"I see," she says, before raising her hand again, this time aiming it at me. I feel a strange warmth, and then—I start to float.
It's so cool! I'm floating in the air, and I can't help but grin. I wiggle my arms and legs, moving around in mid-air. I feel free. Veori seems to enjoy watching my reactions as I float around.
After a while, she lowers me gently back down to the ground. I'm still grinning, feeling so happy and excited.
Then, suddenly, I notice that my hand is glowing. I'm confused at first, but then the table in front of me starts to rise off the ground. I stare, shocked, as I instinctively move my hand to guide it.
The table floats along with my hand. I wave my hand around in excitement, and the table crashes into a shelf with a loud boom.
Veori rushes into the room, looking panicked. "Young master, are you okay?" She picks me up and holds me close. I'm still silent, completely stunned that I somehow did that magic.
I glance at the table, relieved that nothing broke or was damaged. I look at my hand, still small, still childlike, and yet... I've just performed magic. This world, my new life—it's far more extraordinary than I could have ever imagined.
