Reincarnated with a lucky draw system

Chapter 112: THE DEEP SLUMBER

Aaron woke up, his eyes fluttering open to the soft light filtering through the room. He found himself lying on a comfortable bed, the sheets rumpled from long disuse, and Alice by his side, her presence a familiar anchor in the haze of confusion.

"You're finally awake," Alice said, her voice soft but filled with unmistakable relief. A warm smile spread across her face, her eyes brightening as the weight of worry lifted from her shoulders. She had been by his side through it all, watching over him like a guardian in this uncertain world.

Aaron's mind cleared slowly, a surge of unfamiliar strength coursing through his veins, making him feel more alive than ever before. "Alice, how long have I been out?" he asked, his voice rough from disuse, sitting up with a fluid motion that surprised even him.

"A year," Alice disclosed, her tone gentle but matter-of-fact. "You slept for that long."

"What?" Aaron asked, his eyes widening in shock. The revelation hit him like a sudden system notification, jarring his sense of time and reality in this reincarnated existence.

"You returned from the abyss, wracked with so much pain that you blacked out, losing consciousness," Alice explained, her hand resting lightly on his arm. "Everything and everyone connected to you felt the pain you experienced, blacking out as well. We all lost consciousness for about a month."

"Everyone?" Aaron echoed, confusion knitting his brows. The word hung in the air, implying a bond deeper than he had realized, tying his fate to those around him in ways that echoed the interconnected mechanics of his lucky draw system.

"You're finally awake," Isobel muttered, her voice carrying a mix of sarcasm and genuine concern as she stood by the door, arms crossed. Behind her were Derrick, Hayley, Flameborn, and Michael, their expressions a blend of relief and curiosity.

"You got us all worried," Isobel added, stepping into the room. Her posture was casual, but her eyes betrayed the tension she had carried during the long wait.

"Seriously, dude, what did you do?" Michael chimed in, entering the room and plopping down on a cushion across from Aaron. "We all felt this insane power the moment you entered the sanctuary, flowing through us from our connection with you. The fastest ones to wake up among us were the weaker vampires, with Flameborn being the longest—waking up six months after."

Aaron's head throbbed with a wave of headache and frustration, the flood of information overwhelming him like a sudden quest update in his reincarnated journey. "What happened while I was gone?" he asked, his voice steady despite the inner turmoil.

"Remember when I said everything connected to you fell asleep?" Alice replied, her tone patient as she filled in the gaps. "The sanctuary too. It was like it went into lockdown. None of us could leave through the rifts. So we've all been stuck within the sanctuary for the entire year."

"Well, at least the sanctuary wasn't so boring," Michael said, leaning back with a wry grin. "We woke up to find it increasing in size. The mana within it also thickened. And unlike the shape of a floating island, it grew into the shape of an actual planet—except it's very small. The boundary increased too. Ten kilometers outside the atmosphere is where the sanctuary's edge is now. Half of the sanctuary, though, is home to a beating heart that can't help but keep producing abyss kin."

"Alright, enough conversation," Isobel interjected, her impatience cutting through the air like a sharp blade. "Seeing is believing, right?" She walked toward Aaron, extending a hand to help him out of the bed, her touch firm and reassuring.

Aaron followed Isobel's lead as she left the castle, the others trailing behind him and Isobel. The group moved through the familiar halls, the air thick with the scent of mana and the faint hum of the sanctuary's evolving energy, a reminder of the changes that had unfolded in his absence.

Getting out of the castle, Aaron finally had a good view of the sanctuary. The landscape stretched before him, transformed and vibrant, the sky above a vast dome of shimmering stars that felt both protective and expansive.

The mana felt purer and more abundant, flowing through the air like a living current, invigorating his senses and stirring his hybrid bloodline with a promise of untapped potential. The sanctuary was larger, as Michael had stated earlier, its horizons expanded in a way that made it feel like a budding world of its own.

Aaron was led to the boundary that separated the Abyssal part of the sanctuary from the other part. The edge was a shimmering veil, pulsing with dark energy that called to something deep within him, a remnant of his time in the abyss.

With curiosity burning in his chest, Aaron entered the Abyssal realm within his sanctuary, surprised by the revelation that the abundant Abyssal energy in the air wasn't repulsive to him anymore. It no longer pushed him away like it had when he first entered the abyss realm; instead, it wrapped around him like a welcoming embrace, familiar and empowering.

"You must have felt it too," Isobel said, noticing the shift in his expression. "So did we. The Abyssal energy—it no longer harbors us, but welcomes us all." Her words carried a note of awe, as if the change had reshaped their very place in this world.

"Also, we now have the power to control Abyssal energy like abyssal kin," Alice added, her voice tinged with excitement. The ability felt like a new skill unlocked in their shared progression, a gift from Aaron's trials.

"All in all, aside from the long siesta, your actions were quite rewarding," Michael added, a smirk playing on his lips. Blood flowed from his fingertip, corroded with Abyssal energy, twisting in the air like a dark serpent under his control.

"Status window," Aaron called out, his voice steady amid the revelations. In the end, there was no better way to know the changes made than from his system, the core of his reincarnated existence, always ready with the cold facts of his growth.

[Aetherion, the Celestial Behemoth]

In the dawn before ages were counted, the Heavenly Dragon God—master of the endless skies—clashed with the Lion God, sovereign of unyielding lands. Their battle raged for centuries, shaking stars from their places and cracking the bones of mountains. When their final clash tore heaven and earth apart, their divine essences bled into one another. From the storm of light and dust, fire and stone, a new being was born—neither dragon nor lion, but something greater, forged from their immortal fury and boundless majesty.

Thus arose Aetherion, the child of heaven and earth, a creature feared even by primordial dragons, for it carried the unyielding strength of land and the limitless freedom of sky.

Aetherion towers like a living storm. Its body is scaled with iridescent plates of silver and obsidian, glowing faintly with celestial runes. From its shoulders rise vast wings of stormlight, feathers crackling with threads of lightning that never fade. Its face bears the noble structure of a dragon, yet crowned with the majestic mane of a lion, flowing like molten gold in battle. Its eyes burn twin suns—one azure like the heavens, the other amber like the heart of the earth.

Its claws are jagged obsidian, tipped with divine lightning, while its tail ends in a lion's tuft of radiant flame. Every step shakes the ground, every beat of its wings splits the sky.
