Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son

Chapter 476: [Dystopian Elven War] [52] [A World Unknown]

[A Few Days Earlier.]

[Yennefer's office, Akasha.]

Yennefer drew in a deep breath as she placed her hands on her waist.

A small smile lingered on her face as she looked down on the ground.

"Finally…."

She whispered, her eyes soft as she stared at the diagram.

It was an obsoric design with thousands of small runic symbols interconnected to each other.

Those runic symbols were from the smallest of wind to the highest of time.

Anyone who had even a tiniest of knowledge about runes would marvel at the sight.

Yennefer's smile slowly died down as she kept on staring at the diagram.

"Will this really work?"

She mumbled to herself as her eyes dimmed down a little.

"Have some faith in yourself." A voice echoed from behind her. "It will work."

Yennefer recognized the voice as her smile slowly returned.

She didn't question how the feminine voice came so close to her.

Instead she asked. "….I still have my doubts." She rubbed her eyes. "After all it's a ritual to separate body and soul."

The voice didn't speak as Yennefer slowly turned back.

A figure sat on a chair hiding in the dark with her body relaxed completely.

Yennefer moved past the diagram of the ritual circle, she leaned on the table.

"It has a use of a lot more runic symbols…Highest I have ever worked with." She mumbled, folding her hands.

"One wrong outcome and I would be dead."

The voice didn't respond as her relaxed body remained still.

Yennefer changed the question.

"How do you even know this many runic symbols?" She narrowed her eyes. "I thought only Himmel was aware of these runes."

The figure leaned forward, "is this what you should be asking?" She said calmly. "I am helping you free your daughter here."

"Tsk."

Yennefer clicked her tongue as she looked away.

Still Yennefer didn't ask about where she got her vast knowledge from.

"So, let's revise our plan." She said, looking at the figure.

"With the ritual circle engraved on my body, I could theoretically separate my soul from my body—."

"It's not a theory." She cut Yennefer off. "I have tried it and the ritual works."

Yennefer nodded as she could clearly feel annoyance in her voice.

Well, she also understood her annoyance, anyone would be if you call their masterpiece a theory.

Yennefer drew in a deep breath as she looked at her again.

"With my soul separated from my body…." She clenched her fist tightly. "….I can transfer the curse from Zenith to myself."

The figure gave her a thoughtful 'hum.'

"After that all you need to do is to die only for a split second." She said softly. "The curse will be gone forever after that."

"I can bring myself back from death." Yennefer said quietly. "That's the easiest part."

She slowly bit her lips. "…But what if they noticed—."

"They won't." The figure cut her off. "As long as you 'die' fighting for their cause….they won't try to harm Zenith."

Yennefer lowered her gaze to the circle again.

Each sigil had been carved, erased, and drawn again until the pattern felt alive beneath the parchment.

She lowered herself, touching the outer layer of the ring. "I only fear variables now…."

"As long as you can convey your plan to Himmel…" she said softly. "There shouldn't be any more problems."

Yennefer though, doubtful, still nodded her head in response.

A bright smile bloomed on her face as she held back her tears.

"My daughter will be free…" she whispered softly. "After all this time. Finally…."

She got a hold of her emotions as she looked back at the figure. "…Thanks for helping me."

The figure responded with another question. "What will you do after you are free."

Yennefer replied with a nod. "Go far away from all this." She gave a hopeful smile.

"To a place where I can live with my daughter peacefully."

The figure just gave her a small nod before she stood up and walked towards the door.

Yennefer stared as she opened the door but stopped at the last second.

"I hope you get your daughter back." She said without looking back. "…And a happy life."

Yennefer smiled, her emotions clear on her face.

The figure walked away without any other words.

Yennefer remained still in her place as her eyes moved back to the circle.

Though she couldn't help but question herself. "What was that faint mark on her hand?"

---

[Current Time]

She didn't listen as she grabbed her broken staff.

Himmel drew in a deep breath as he raised his blade.

He didn't want to kill her but he wasn't going to hesitate to take away a hand or leg.

Yennefer used the staff as a support as she moved her body up.

Her eyes remained on Himmel who stared back at her.

The rain poured down heavily on them but they didn't care.

Yennefer drew in a deep breath as she mumbled.

"Ritual in me."

Himmel tilted his head as he couldn't understand.

Yennefer took advantage of the split second of confusion as she formed a rune.

BOOM!

A sonic sound burst, the shockwave ripped through the broken palace like a giant bell.

Himmel slid back across the fractured floor coming to a halt.

Through the swirling grit he caught a glimpse of Yennefer.

She had steadied herself with the broken half of her staff.

Though for only a second, he began to doubt his judgment.

'…Is there something that I am missing?'

He couldn't help but think as Yennefer began to move again.

"Rejection of Time."

The world around him turned grey as he slowed down the time, droplets of water frozen in air.

He then began to analyze the situation as his gaze remained on Yennefer.

The woman was still forming her spell albeit slowly.

Taking in a deep breath, he closed his eyes and let mana take control.

His consciousness turned enormous as he used 'mana sense.'

With it, he scanned Yennefer thoroughly and sure enough he found it.

Within her body, especially on the front of her body.

…There was an engraved ritual circle.

It was so hidden that Himmel was sure even a demigod couldn't find it.

Himmel took only a few seconds to analyze the complete circle.

'…It's related to soul.'

He concluded as he opened his eyes.

And when he looked at her spell he noticed something else.

Using the keystones as a way, Yennefer wrote a message in the spell itself.

He wouldn't have been able to see it if he hadn't slowed time.

'…Did she foresee that I will slow time?'

Finally one more thing clicked in Himmel's mind.

Why was she able to move through before when he slowed time.

'….Is she using a time rune?'

But using a time rune is far more difficult..One can't use it all the time.

Himmel quickly got a hold of himself as he pushed those questions for later.

He read her message. '…Give me deadly blow, I have a plan.'

Himmel drew in a deep breath as he debated if he should trust her or not.

'…Fuck.'

He made up his mind as he exhaled softly.

The time remained slow as he moved towards her forming a blade in his hand.

Just to be sure he formed six runic symbols of death around the woman.

Himmel's breath left a white trail as he stepped forward, blade low and steady.

"Damn it, Yennefer," he muttered under his breath.

He reached out and set six black runic symbols of death in a ring around her.

'Trust her', he told himself.

Time snapped forward with a soundless crack.

The rain resumed its fall in a sudden hiss, and Yennefer's eyes widened just enough to show she had sensed his choice.

The blade sliced through the damp air and stopped a breath from her chest…before he twisted his wrist and drove it in with controlled force.

It plunged through her body, destroying her spells midway.

Her body began to lose its strength as she began to lose consciousness.

Himmel moved forward as he let her lean on him as he slowly lowered her body.

He sat down and gently placed her head on his lap.

For a long while there was nothing but silence, only destroyed by the heavy rain.

Himmel kept Yennefer close to him while using the death rune to slow down her death.

His eyes moved up to look at Kryllios who coldly stared back.

Yet the cautious man refused to move from his place.

Just as Himmel was about to say something, a sudden footsteps stopped him.

"…Himmel?"

He looked to his side and found Zenith standing there, completely frozen.

Siersha stood just a step away from them, her face blank.

The girl's gaze slowly moved towards Yennefer's body. "…Mother?"

Himmel didn't say anything as he looked at Yennefer in his hand.

At that moment, the ritual circle on her chest flared up.

In an instant the time slowed for everyone.

A translucent form slowly moved out of Yennefer's body, with the same features as her.

Her soul floated towards Zenith with a small smile on her face.

Yennefer stretched her hand hugging her daughter.

Zenith remained too frozen to do anything as her mother's translucent body vanished in her body.

The downpour softened to a mist as if the whole world paused to watch.

Himmel felt Yennefer's body lighten in his arms.

Zenith blinked, unable to move.

"Mother…?" her voice cracked, no louder than the rain.

No voice came back to console the lost child.

Then….

….It all happened in a split second.

The variable they all feared.

Zenith let out a voiceless scream.

Her perfectly fine body began to crack as white light poured out of it.

Faster than the instinct of Himmel….The white light exploded, breaking Zenith's body into thousand pieces in the process.

When the light settled down….

….No one was left in the place.

Zenith, Himmel, Yennefer and Siersha.

They all vanished from the face of Lumina.

[Unknown.]

[Unknown.]

[Himmel's POV.]

Darkness settled in front of my eyes before light began to guide me.

For a long while I couldn't feel my body but after a while I was in control.

I blinked my eyes as I tried to remember what happened.

'….Zenith.'

As my eyes settled I found myself staring at a dim sun.

"What are you doing, Az?"

A sudden voice made me flinch on my face.

I know that voice.

….I remember that voice…I have been dying to hear that voice.

I slowly lowered my head to find a girl standing in front of me.

Her long blue hair was loosely tied up behind her back.

Those shiny blue eyes looked at me with nothing but adoration.

"…..Christina?"

I choked her name out as I felt my emotions out of control.

The girl blinked but then smiled. "Aw, did you miss me that much?"

"What are you talking about?"

Another voice cut her off, making me flinch once again.

I slowly moved my head to look at another girl walking towards us.

She had long obsidian hair and eyes of the same colour.

She pouted. "He would miss me more than you."

I barely believed my eyes as I mumbled unconsciously. "Senara?"

The girl looked at me and smiled. "Missed me?"

I felt my knees giving up as I looked at both of them.

My eyes slowly began to notice the other small things.

The school uniform they were wearing.

The tall buildings around us.

The cars that moved on the streets.

It was a familiar yet an unfamiliar place.

'….Where the hell am I?'
