Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son

Chapter 443: [Dystopian Elven War] [19] [Betrayal]

"...."

Oliver stood quietly in front of a man who looked like he was in his mid-fifties.

Despite his old age, Edel had a refined appearance that made him look wise.

He had black hair with little white in it along with his bearded face.

Yet….

Oliver didn't like one bit what he was seeing.

Edel didn't rush after taking in a place with no one around.

Instead, he kept on drinking his wine, like he had all the time in the world.

"…If you have nothing to say—."

"What are you doing, you foolish boy?"

Edel said, stopping Oliver as he began to walk away.

He tilted his head, feigning ignorance. "Pardon?"

"Why did you join the vampires?" he asked, his voice a low growl. "What are you planning?"

Oliver didn't respond for a while, his mind was already somewhere else.

'Can I kill him, right now?'

Oliver seriously thought if he could pull this out or not.

Truth be told, even though Oliver had been keeping an eye on Edel's every move, he had yet to see him fight.

He was completely blank on his fighting style and powers.

'No, no. I shouldn't rush things.'

He drew in a deep breath as he found annoyance on Edel's face.

[«Take it easy, Oliver.»]

Lilith's voice echoed in his mind as she noticed the smile slowly blooming on his face.

"Are you going to answer it?" Edel asked again, looking at him.

"How is your grandson?" Oliver replied with his own question.

That made…Edel stop in his tracks.

It had been months since his grandson Vald and son Albus died, yet he hadn't forgotten about them.

And when Oliver mentioned them, rage quickly took over him.

"What did you say?" he asked, voice brimming with anger.

[«Stop provoking him.»]

Oliver ignored her advice as his smile grew even bigger.

"I heard they died a gruesome death." he continued, his voice growing deeper. "With his legs, arms, and body twisted like an experimental rat."

There was a faint shift in mana because of the demigod's anger.

Oliver noticed it, yet didn't stop.

"In fact," he said, stepping closer, "I wonder if Vald screamed before he died. Or if he just…"

Oliver tapped the side of his temple, "…shut down from the pain."

It was only a blink before Oliver found himself slammed against the wall with a hand choking him.

"Do you really think I won't kill you right now?" Edel growled, staring dead into his eyes.

Oliver smiled softly. "Try it."

Despite the provocation, Oliver and Lilith both were ready.

"Put down your foolish ambitions to rest." Edel said, glaring at him. "Otherwise—."

BOOOOM!!?

His words were cut short with the sudden explosion.

"Tch."

Edel clicked his tongue before he vanished, leaving Oliver alone.

The young man rubbed his neck, feeling the aftertaste of defeat.

'I can't wait for too long now.'

Even though he knew the risk of what he was about to do….

'There is no faster way.'

He had tried on his own and failed time and time again.

Even though Oliver wanted his two identities separate….he knew now wasn't the time.

"Lilith."

[«Yes?»]

Despite the risk of losing himself….

"How do I unlock Adam's Kingdom?"

---

Mariam's blank eyes turned furious as she saw Himmel vanish within the crack.

She quickly turned back. "Kryllios!!!"

The King of Demiurges smiled as he floated away from her.

"It would be wise if we don't fight, Lady Mariam." he said, "You don't want to destroy your precious home, right?"

Rage burned in Mariam's eyes as she glared at him.

"I will ask this once." Mariam said, glaring at him. "Bring. Himmel. Out."

"I can't do that." Kryllios said, shaking his head. "The future of my race is on the line."

Mariam drew in a deep breath as the air around her rippled.

Hundreds, thousands of enormous branches floated all around her.

"Perhaps killing you would be for the best."

Kryllios stopped smiling.

For the first time, the playful gleam in his eyes dimmed.

"Are you breaking the pact by involving demigods in a war?" he asked, tilting his head. "Can you bear the consequences?"

Mariam didn't flinch.

The branches behind her swayed like blades caught in a storm, humming with barely contained wrath.

"I don't care about the pact," she said coldly. "You sent my son into a trap. Do you think that won't have consequences?"

"Calm down, Mariam."

A voice interrupted their conversation.

They looked to the side where Edwin arrived between them.

Edel was also there, but he stood on the side without interrupting.

Edwin slowly stood beside Kryllios, looking at her. "I know you are angry, but he is doing us a favor." he said. "You don't want another Ragnar, do you—?"

"He isn't like Ragnar!!?" Mariam snapped. "Do not compare them."

"Give up, Lady Mariam." Kryllios said with a smile. "With him dead, everyone could take a breather."

The branches behind her twisted together, forming a massive spear.

She was ready to fight even though there were two demigods against her.

But before she could, another demigod appeared beside Kryllios.

Renwick looked at Kryllios coldly. "What's the meaning of this?"

He was busy making sure Nariya was safe from the explosion.

Kryllios obediently bowed toward him.

"I am just making sure Sir Vadanis is safe." he replied. "My men already have him secured."

"Hmm—."

Renwick's head snapped toward Mariam, who appeared beside the faint marking of the kingdom where Himmel was.

The kingdom was an inner world cut off from the main world, but it still had connection to the place it was opened in.

It didn't take her long to find the connection.

Kryllios' expression turned colder. "Mariam!!"

She began tearing open the kingdom with her bare hands.

---

Hmm?

But a sudden disturbance made us all look up.

In the sky…

Mariam was trying to rip open the kingdom forcefully.

She extended her hand toward me. "Come out, Himmel—!"

She couldn't complete her words as someone pushed her back.

But the tear in the kingdom was still there.

I bent down and coated my mana blade with golden lightning.

"Stop him!"

Soren's voice echoed within the kingdom, and the rest burst forward.

BOOOOM!!!

The asteroid I stood on exploded beneath my feet as I launched myself upward.

They all came at me at once.

Phenex's daggers flew through the air, spinning like a hurricane.

Imri popped out from behind a rock, ready for another shockwave.

Dagan tried to intercept from the right with a newly formed axe, and Valerius was barreling forward, like a wall of flesh.

But this time, I wasn't trying to fight them.

I just needed to get out.

I zipped past Dagan, grazing his shoulder and tearing through it with my blade.

He let out a grunt and stumbled, but didn't fall.

Phenex's daggers sliced through the air again, all six at once.

'Huff…'

I burst forward without stopping. I deflected two of the daggers, dodged two.

Dispersing my mana blade, I grabbed one and deflected the last blade.

"AHHHH!!!"

With a battle cry, Phenex jumped at me with another dagger.

I twisted mid-air just in time.

Phenex's dagger missed my throat by inches, grazing my collarbone.

Pain lanced through me, but I clenched my teeth and grabbed his wrist.

"You're in my way."

With a surge of mana, I electrocuted her entire body.

It should have killed her, but she was changed with an asteroid at the last moment.

Imri tried to use the same trick as before, but I was ready this time.

I zapped closer to his direction before I whispered. "Garden of Vanity."

In an instant, his mind turned blank as I reached closer to him.

With him being completely defenseless, I swept my blade to cut off his head.

CRACK!

But once again, he was changed into an asteroid, saving his life.

'Tch!'

I glared at Soren, who stood close to the tear waiting for it to heal.

An enormous shadow loomed over me, forcing me to turn back.

"Stay here!!!"

Valerius shouted, slamming both his hands like a hammer.

BOOM!!!

The air cracked as Valerius's fists smashed down.

I rolled aside just in time, but the shockwave from the impact sent me flying.

My ears rang as I hit the side of a floating rock, flipping over it before finding my footing.

Using the asteroid as a platform, I launched myself toward Valerius once again.

BOOMM!!!

I was at him in a split second, and he also raised his hand to attack.

At the last moment, I whispered. "Rejection Of Time."

The world slowed down around me, and so did Valerius.

I didn't waste my time as I cut off his head and hands in one swift moment and used him to jump toward the tear.

Soren stood in front of the tear alone, ready to kill me in one strike.

I smiled as I said. "Simple Kingdom."

Half his kingdom turned into a pure white cluster as I made it my own.

Before he could even understand, a punch on his face threw him out of his own kingdom.

I followed behind him, arriving back to the main Household.

Mariam was in a standoff against both Kryllios and Edwin.

But my gaze was on the third demigod.

"Renwick!!!" I yelled, bringing out Vadanis. "Stop all this instant!"

Renwick's eyes widened in horror as I placed a blade on Vadanis' throat.

Mariam's eyes widened in surprise. "Himmel!?"

Kryllios' smile vanished as he looked at me.

I kept my attention on Soren as well, who slowly stood back up.

The rest of his team was still in his kingdom.

Renwick slowly turned and walked toward Kryllios. "You said your men took care of him."

"They would certainly have—."

Slap!!!!

Kryllios' words couldn't even finish before Renwick slapped him hard.

"Who asked you to do this anyway?" Renwick barked, glaring at him. "What type of dog bites without his master's permission!!?"

"...."

Kryllios didn't reply as he looked at Renwick without any emotions.

The demigod of House Atretic didn't like it.

Slap!!!

"What are you looking at?"

Slap!!

"Have you forgotten your place?"

Slap!! Slap!!

"Do I need to remind you of your worthless place?"

Renwick kept on slapping Kryllios until blood dripped down his face and his back hunched down.

Kryllios didn't resist.

He stood still, face turned, blood sliding down from his lip and the corner of his eye.

Renwick's hand dropped after the last slap.

Breathing heavily, he turned away from Kryllios.

"You've forgotten who commands this race," he muttered. "Next time, I won't use my hand."

I could see rage in Soren's eyes as well, but he kept quiet.

Renwick now faced me directly. "Your terms will be the same, and I will accept them all."

"I almost lost my life." I replied, still placing my blade on his throat.

"It was his and only his idea." Renwick said, kicking Kryllios. "It has nothing to do with us."

"Himmel." Mariam whispered softly. "We should end this now."

"...."

I stood there for a while before I let out a sigh.

She is right, I should end this now.

Kryllios and others…I can deal with them later on.

"Fine." I said, looking at Renwick. "The same condition as before."

I lowered my blade and extended the unconscious Vadanis. "Take him."

Renwick was about to come, but Kryllios stopped him.

He bowed deeply in front of the demigod.

"I made a mistake." he said, his voice soft. "Let me be useful to you once more."

Renwick looked unimpressed as he grunted. "Now what do you want to do?"

"Let me do the honour of bringing Young Master back." he replied, "I would apologize to him the moment he wakes up."

Renwick seemed pleased by his behavior as he nodded. "Go, bring him."

Kryllios straightened his back as he walked toward me.

I didn't bother with him as I pushed Vadanis at him when he moved closer.

Kryllios grabbed him with utmost care, like he was his own child.

Looking at me, he smiled softly. "You are much more dangerous than I thought, Heir Himmel."

"...."

I didn't reply as he began to walk toward Renwick.

But….

At the last moment, he stopped in the middle.

Renwick frowned, and so did I. "Kryllios?"

Kryllios smiled as he looked at Renwick. "You shouldn't have done that."

Before anyone could comprehend the situation…

Kryllios waved his hand and….

….Beheaded Vadanis in front of everyone.
