Reincarnated as the Death God's Vessel

Chapter 43: Staining Fangs

Lidien woke up with a smile on his face, as his preparations inside the Dreamflow came into fruition.

Not only did he fool himself into thinking he absorbed the Essence from the Relic, but he also succeeded in convincing Lady Rose of it.

However, he didn't expect a new revelation would come to him, another life-threatening one... not just from random enemies... but the whole world hunting him.

Even though Lidien was thankful for Lady Rose offering a secrecy pact, he still didn't trust her fully.

For he also knew that only someone who could control a Blood Essence is the one who could truly revive Lily.

And with the realization that the Blessed of Death are being hunted by the whole world, no one but him could actually use the 'Chest of the Undying Lich.'

Unless... Mother knows someone who is also a Blessed of Death with the Path of Blood.

Lidien sat up, put on his clothes from the closet, and prepared his favorite suit for breakfast.

'I hope everything goes smoothly today...'

Lidien proceeded to the dining hall; as usual, his siblings were early along with Lady Rose.

After greeting all of them, Lidien sat in his place and wondered why Azer was looking at him with his brows slightly meeting.

"Do you know what you've done, Lidien?"

Lidien smiled, as he remembered the chaos inside the Mission Hall he made just from announcing his thoughts... what more if everyone joined the hunt for the beastfolk?

"No... Brother... why, what happened?"

Azer stared at him and smirked; knowing Lidien's cunningness, he concluded that he was acting, playing like a child.

"Stop pretending you don't know, Lidien! You should've been the one maintaining Order, not Chaos! As a Prince!"

Lidien laughed, his blood-like verve oozing from him as his crimson eyes stared at Azer.

"No, brother... I let it pass when they stained my name for linking me with the heart-eating incidents!" Lidien pointed at himself, his spit flying with his scream.

"But I won't let anyone who touched my test subject go scot-free..." he lowered his voice, sinking deeper with everyone listening.

"If those beastfolk are staining my name as a Heart Eater... I'll stain these fangs with their dirty blood."

Aria smiled faintly and proceeded to Lidien, massaging his shoulder to ease his heating nerves.

"I already told you, right, I'll bring you another test subject... why bring chaos to the clan if you could repeat your experiment again... right?"

Yet, instead of calming him, Lidien transformed into his Blood Form... as his claws dug deeper into Aria's hand on his shoulder, cascading blood on his black coat.

"To waste my time?"

Lidien side-eyed Aria, meeting her pained eyes, then laughed hysterically.

"Then I'll waste everyone's time hunting them down, here! Inside the Blood Rose Clan's Territory!"

As a small pained grunt escaped Aria's lips, a golden verve pressed Lidien down to the floor, destroying the chair and table he was sitting on.

Lidien grunted, his mouth bleeding from the overwhelming pressure as he stared directly at Lady Rose smiling at him.

"Good Lidien... good... now calm down, we are not your enemies."

Lady Rose stood and walked slowly... deliberately towards him.

Everyone was silent, and only the hissing sound of Lidien fighting the echoes of Lady Rose's heels could be heard.

As Lady Rose stood in front of Lidien, she immediately touched Aria's still bleeding hand... healing it with just a gesture.

Then she touched her face affectionately, brushing her hair.

"Are you alright, my daughter?"

Aria nodded and smiled as if nothing had happened.

"Take a seat, Aria, we know Lidien couldn't control himself when he's angry..."

Lidien continued hissing at Lady Rose before she gently kneeled in front of him.

And embraced Lidien without a second thought.

"It's okay now... my son, Mother is here..."

Lidien's heated gaze slowly calmed down, as the gold-like verve flooded his very being... canceling his Blood Form and turning him back to his gentle appearance.

"I-I'm sorry, Mother... I-I didn't mean to..."

A tear dropped from his eyes, as Lady Rose gently patted his head, comforting him from his sudden outburst.

"Hush now, my son... just promise me, after you finish what you want to do, everything will be put back to its place..."

As he nodded, Lady Rose then stood and sat back in her seat... and eyed Azer, who was still drinking his tea.

"Azer... you know what to do."

Azer nodded before standing up to leave the dining hall, staring at Lidien with his crimson eyes.

Lidien could only hide his smile, hoping his act maintained his role as a Demon of Wrath.

With the influence of Nyomi dying, and his hate towards the one who killed her masking his performance, making it genuine but not at all.

Lidien, without a seat, stood and looked at Kyer, nonchalant from the events happening in front of him as he busily chewed the beef, still bleeding.

"What?" Kyer asked with his stuffed face.

Lidien shook his head at his unsightly brother, who looked more like Gluttony than Greed.

"I'll make you rich... today! Just do what I say."

Kyer put down the beef and immediately emptied a glass of milk, making Lidien wonder... that the taste and diet here are different from the place in his past life...

For he remembers it was bread and butter, not beef and milk during breakfast.

After wandering in his mind for a little while, he glanced at Aria and forced a smile, bowing and asking permission from Lady Rose before leaving the dining hall with Kyer--skipping as he walked.

"Do you know what gambling is?"

Lidien asked with real curiosity.

"Of course I do... who doesn't know?"

Lidien didn't reply, as the passage going out of the Rift was already within his arm's reach.

"Let's go, I'll show you something fun!"

As they walked outside of the Rift, a blinding light penetrated their hands covering the rays of the sun.

While the thundering sounds of the slaves and the whole clan echoed Lidien's name...

A cheer, as they waited for the promised prize he had made.

Lidien scanned the beastfolk along with the people who had them, and a cruel smile touched his face.

'Let's see if you can still hide.'
