Reincarnated as Nobita Nobi

Chapter 82: Shocked, Another Villain with Brains!

I felt really happy when Prince Kuntakku bowed to us five and said, "Thank you, thank you all!" He was especially grateful to me, Nobita, because I was the one who suggested helping him and even convinced my friends to stay.

But while Nobita was feeling good about that, on the other side of things, in a bustling construction site, people were everywhere building machines and assembling them piece by piece.

As more parts were put together, the shape of a machine started to emerge. It was officially a tank-like machine, with gun barrels and treads, but its outer armor was shaped like a dog's head.

Up on a high platform, a majestic dog-headed person held a wine cup, dressed in a big red robe, sitting on a throne, looking very satisfied with the scene before him.

"Well done, Professor Kos!"

"This is all as it should be, Lord Daburanda!" Beside him, the short figure in a black hood, holding an unknown staff, Professor Kos, bowed and said.

"No matter what enemies are out there in the world, we don't have to fear them now!" Daburanda laughed triumphantly.

But before he could enjoy his triumph for long, suddenly two guards riding strange kangaroos burst through the gate.

"Lord Daburanda, we have major news to report!" the two guards shouted as they rushed in.

Daburanda couldn't stay seated after hearing their report.

"What? You say the prince? That's impossible! Wasn't the prince already sunk to the bottom of the lake to meet King Bauwan I?"

Daburanda asked in a rage.

"But I saw it with my own eyes—it's definitely him!" Bernard said firmly.

"And he's accompanied by five strange creatures, like monkeys wearing clothes, with a tanuki mixed in among them," Balderry added.

Professor Kos nearby suddenly looked terrified. "Could it be the prophecy of King Bauwan I?"

"Whoever they are, it doesn't matter. Any suspicious beings must be captured," Daburanda said. Now that he controlled the kingdom, he felt confident facing anything.

"Lord Daburanda, if it's really the prince, then he'll surely try to rescue his only remaining loyal subordinate. So Captain Brus of the royal guard should be his target. If we set a trap there, we can catch them all in one net!"

"And as King Bauwan I once said, even to catch a rabbit, use all your strength. So my suggestion is to send Captain Saber directly, and gather the kingdom's elite to ambush them," Professor Kos said respectfully from the side, though his words were incredibly sinister.

"Excellent, do just that!" Daburanda was very pleased with the plan—no wonder Kos was his long-time advisor.

Hearing Daburanda's approval made him happy, but Kos still said with some regret, "If the prison weren't so small, I'd want to use the newly built Long-Roar Cannon, the war chariots, and the flyers too."

After we promised Prince Kuntakku to help him, we started making plans. First, we had to rescue his subordinate, Captain Brus of the royal guard. Only then could we rally the soldiers to help. Otherwise, how could just a few of us really restore the kingdom? Most of the army obeyed Daburanda's commands, but a small portion still missed the former king.

Brus was the one who could reconnect with them, not to mention he knew how to lead and train troops, so after the restoration, Prince Kuntakku would have enough people to use.

Plus, Brus's strength wasn't to be underestimated—he was the kingdom's second greatest knight, right after Saber.

That's why Prince Kuntakku had no choice but to save him.

...

At night, we hid in a cart of straw during the day, with Chippo driving the vehicle, and we passed the patrolling guards' inspection to get here.

Of course, Prince Kuntakku knew those two guards from the daytime had recognized him, but he could only hope Daburanda's information was delayed and he hadn't reacted yet.

He was also pinning his hopes on our abilities.

In the pitch-black night, looking at the stone wall of this prison, Chippo said, "Captain Brus is imprisoned right here!"

It seemed like Brus's location was common knowledge—even Chippo knew it, which was really strange.

I knew this was probably a trap, but Prince Kuntakku had no choice but to save him. It was basically an open scheme.

Still, I was on high alert myself.

"Everyone's favorite tool, the Pass Loop!" Doraemon quickly pulled out the gadget from his four-dimensional pocket at that moment.

He placed the Pass Loop on the wall, and immediately a hole appeared that we could enter through.

Except for Prince Kuntakku and Chippo, who were still marveling at how amazing it was, the rest of us were used to it and filed right in.

Inside the prison, the security was pretty tight—guards patrolling everywhere.

But the lighting here was still torches on the walls, like some backward medieval times.

The dim, flickering firelight made the prison seem even more eerie.

We dodged group after group of patrolling guards and quietly snuck to Brus's cell.

Behind the huge, thick iron bars was a massive dog-headed person with a cross-shaped scar on his forehead. At first glance, he looked incredibly fierce.

But earlier, while dodging the patrolling cavalry, I had noticed two familiar dog-headed people—they were the same two guards who had rushed into Brus's residence that morning.

That made me even more certain this was a trap, and I became even more vigilant.

"Brus! Brus?" Prince Kuntakku called softly to the person inside.

Brus's squinted eyes reacted instantly. His huge frame quickly approached the cell door.

"That voice, that scent! It's Your Highness the Prince!" Brus sniffed with his dog nose, his booming voice rumbling out.

Prince Kuntakku, hearing how loud Brus was, quickly shushed him to be quiet.

But strangely, no guards came rushing over. Doraemon used the Pass Loop again, and Brus hurried out from inside.

But just as Brus came out and we were about to cross that skybridge to the wall near the gate and use the Pass Loop to get out, a problem arose.

"How is this possible? When we came in, there were no guards at the bridgehead," Prince Kuntakku said anxiously, looking at the guards on the skybridge.

But what made Prince Kuntakku's heart sink even lower was that the guards in front suddenly increased in number, and it seemed like more were coming from behind.

By now, how could Prince Kuntakku not understand? This rescue of Brus was clearly a trap set by Daburanda and his people.

Before long, the guards had surrounded us from front and back, trapping us in the middle of the skybridge.

From the crowd, a dog-headed person slowly emerged, wearing a black cape, a black helmet, and heavy black armor.

His build wasn't as big as Brus's, but it was only slightly smaller.

One eye was covered by an eyepatch, making his single eye look even more ferocious.

Hand on his custom longsword, he slowly stepped out from the crowd. I took a close look and the oppressive feeling he gave off was even greater than Brus's.
