Suddenly, we noticed something going on in the courtyard outside the house. There were intruders.

"Don't run, you little brat!" Two dog guards, weapons in hand, were chasing a small dog-headed person.

The small dog-headed person had just run into the courtyard when one of the guards grabbed his tail and lifted him up.

"You little punk, let's see you run now!" The two guards laughed triumphantly.

"Two against one is so despicable! If Master Brus were here..." The small dog-headed person struggled continuously.

That's when we all rushed out the door and saw what was happening.

"Stop!" Prince Kuntakku charged out first, knocking one of the guards flying and rescuing the small dog-headed person.

"Who are you people?" The guard who got up, along with the other one, warily eyed the five of us.

Suddenly, before Prince Kuntakku could use the sword he had taken from one of the guards to deal with them, one guard seemed to realize something. His eyes widened, and then he turned and ran. The other guard, seeing his companion flee, figured he must know something and decided to run first too.

Prince Kuntakku looked a bit depressed at this anticlimactic scene. He'd stepped in to help, but before he could finish, the villains ran away. He hadn't even gotten to show off properly, and it felt frustrating to be left hanging.

Up ahead,

The other guard, having run far and panting, asked the one who ran first, "Balderry, why did you run? Those guys didn't even look armed."

Unexpectedly, the other guard who had stopped smacked his helmet hard. "Bernard, do you know who that was? That was Prince Kuntakku!"

The smacked Bernard retorted defiantly, "So what if he's a prince? Isn't he wanted? Can't we capture him?"

Balderry smacked his helmet hard again. "Are you an idiot? Can we even capture him? Even Captain Saber, who's so strong, failed. How vicious must that guy be! Besides, we only get a few coins a month! Why risk your life?"

"And besides! That's the prince! Only Lord Daburanda and Lord Saber can kill or harm him. Us ordinary folks can't! Otherwise, we'd be dead by tomorrow." Balderry lectured Bernard in frustration, hating that he wasn't smarter.

"So we can't capture him, and we can't kill him. Are we just going back like this?" Bernard said aggrievedly.

"How could we? If we can't capture him, we can find people who can capture and kill him!" Balderry said slyly.

"Let's go! Head back to Lord Daburanda and claim the reward. Sure, the money's not much, but isn't this way safer than risking our lives to catch him?" With that, Balderry urged Bernard to hurry along.

"Hehe! Balderry, you're so smart!" Bernard quickly followed.
