However, before the mech warrior could respond, a shout came from the other side of the street.
"Hey! Bastard! Look over here!"
???
Jill turned her head towards the voice and saw a rocket flying towards the Tyrant.
Someone still had a heavy-duty weapon!
She felt a sense of relief, thinking the situation was under control now.
Boom!
The rocket struck the unguarded black giant directly, exploding on impact.
"Roar!!"
The Tyrant called Nemesis's body stiffened in the flames, clearly taking significant damage.
But the person on the other side of the street immediately fired a second rocket, dealing another blow to the Tyrant.
The explosion's flames lit up most of the block.
Even a two-meter-six giant like the Tyrant, impervious to bullets, staggered and bent its knees, finally collapsing to the ground under the impact of two consecutive rockets.
"Are you guys okay?" The man who had fired the rockets dropped the launcher and ran towards them.
He was dressed in the green uniform of Umbrella's UBCS forces, his fluffy black curly hair bouncing with his movements.
He had a sharp gaze and the tough demeanor of a professional soldier.
"Haah.. Just in time, I'm Carlos, and I'm here to rescue you!"
He ran up to the two of them. "That monster should be dead."
"Follow me, I'll take you to the subway station. Our Umbrella emergency team has built a shelter there, and we're preparing to evacuate the survivors from the city."
"Umbrella!?" Jill, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, suddenly became agitated upon hearing that.
"Are you freaking kidding me? The current state of Raccoon City is because of you! And now you're going to protect civilians?" she said, filled with rage upon hearing this.
The cause of the biohazard outbreak in Raccoon City was the virus leak from Umbrella's underground research facility.
It was a strain called the T-virus.
Once infected, it would enhance the bones and muscle strength of the affected individual.
But it would also cause the skull to become fragile, the body to decay, and instill a crazed desire to consume flesh and spread the virus.
After the virus leaked,
Umbrella Corporation simply abandoned the city, even using it as a testing ground.
And the city's downfall wasn't just due to Umbrella's machinations, but also because of official negligence.
Originally, when the officials of US military detected something unusual, they planned to send troops for support.
But a guy named Simmons on the military committee proposed that they wait and capture the virus research for public use.
So, the military ultimately surrounded the city without attacking.
They only restricted movement out of Raccoon City, but didn't send anyone in to clear out the zombies.
Carlos was completely unaware of these events.
Faced with Jill's accusations, he was utterly confused.
"What are you talking about?" Carlos thought Jill was overreacting.
He took a few steps back. "Look, you don't have to trust me, but right now, the only way out of the city is by taking the subway. Whether or not you want to come is up to you... uh, and by the way, what is that you're wearing?"
It was only then that Carlos noticed the third person beside them was wearing a sleek suit of iron armor.
He looked like an unfortunate mech warrior actor who had just finished shooting a sci-fi movie and then stumbled into a disaster scene.
Jill also turned to look. "Right, mech warrior, I was going to ask, you..."
Her question was abruptly interrupted once again.
Thud! Thud!
The dull sound of a hammer striking the ground suddenly echoed from a distance without warning.
"Don't worry about me, I'm not taking the same path as you," the 'mech warrior' stepped forward.
The two of them followed his gaze.
In the distance, the Tyrant that had been lying on the ground had somehow regained its mobility.
The flames on its body had long since extinguished, and now it was slowly pushing itself up from the ground with both hands.
The thudding sound was coming from the Tyrant as it pressed its hands against the ground.
"Hey, no way, it took two rockets and can still move? What kind of monster is this?" Carlos muttered to himself.
"You've never seen one of these things?" Jill asked.
"I only know that it's searching for something, with a clear purpose, and it won't stop until it achieves it," Carlos replied. "We should go; this thing is completely unstoppable!"
The mech warrior suddenly chuckled and spoke up, "By your description, wouldn't that make it a very dedicated man?"
"Huh? Dedicated?" The two were momentarily stunned by the unexpected joke, their minds thrown off balance.
The mech warrior, without paying them any further attention, reached behind him, unstrapped his backpack, and tossed it aside.
Then, he actually started to fly!
"Holy shit!" Jill and Carlos were both stunned.
This metal guy suddenly erupted with flames from his back and feet and took off?
They had thought the mech warrior was just dressed in some sci-fi gear.
But it turned out he really had sci-fi abilities!
Jill, recalling her own 'teleportation' from the burning car earlier, was even more shocked.
Both of them, overwhelmed, swallowed hard, but they didn't forget to duck behind cover, peeking out to watch the impending battle between the mech and the bioweapon.
"Fuck, I feel like I've been transported into a movie!" Jill's eyes were wide with disbelief.
They watched as the mech warrior hovered in the air and extended his hands toward the Tyrant.
With a futuristic sound of energy charging, he fired energy lasers from his palms!
The two beams of light struck the Tyrant like thunderbolts.
In just one hit, the beams effortlessly pierced through its chest.
The Tyrant's slow steps came to an abrupt halt, and flames quickly began to ignite on its body once more as its massive form collapsed with a thud.
"Is it... over? It shouldn't be able to get up again, right?" Jill muttered, still in shock.
However, as soon as she spoke..
The Tyrant, with two gaping holes in its chest, suddenly began to crack apart piece by piece.
The black, bulletproof material that served as its "outer skin" had remained intact even under rocket fire.
But now, within just a few breaths, that "skin" shattered completely.
As its body tore apart, it began to expand, like a self-replicating bubble of soap.
Within seconds, the two-meter-six Tyrant had grown three times larger.
It had transformed into something resembling a canine, with claws instead of hands and feet, and with fin-like bone spurs jutting from its limbs and back.
The creature now crawled on all fours, breathing heavily.
Its labored breaths sounded like an old steam engine burning coal.
"TsK* Tsk* This form of the Tyrant is really ugly," the mech warrior commented. "The virus and parasite inside it have completely lost control, and it's on the brink of self-destruction."
The Tyrant's ability to maintain rationality depended entirely on a peculiar parasite within its body.
Its current appearance was the result of the parasite losing control, causing its limbs to regenerate and proliferate wildly.
Although its strength had greatly increased, its rationality had completely vanished.
"Let's not drag this out any longer. The sooner it's over, the better."
"If you're the only one transforming, it'll make me look a bit dull."
The mech warrior lowered his hands, and in the next moment, several small missile heads popped out from his shoulders, arms, and waist.
"Fire."
All missiles launched!
A dozen flames ignited as the small missiles arced toward the monstrous Tyrant.
Sensing the danger, the Tyrant powerfully kicked off the ground with its strong legs, leaping onto a wall like a mantis and clinging tightly to it.
It tried to use its high mobility to evade the threat.
But the missiles launched from the mech warrior had tracking capabilities.
One by one, the small missiles curved mid-air, relentlessly pursuing the Tyrant.
For the first time, Jill witnessed the Tyrant scrambling desperately, even though it was still unable to escape successfully.
Boom!
The first missile struck the Tyrant.
Then the remaining small missiles followed.
One explosion after another.
Though the blasts weren't as large as the rocket explosions, each small missile seemed to hit the Tyrant's vital points, causing severe damage to its body and making it stumble, roaring in fury.
When the last missile detonated, the Tyrant's body was reduced to charred bones, lifelessly leaning against the wall, completely motionless.
"This time, it should really be dead."
Jill looked at the fallen Tyrant, then up at the mech warrior in the sky, her eyes filled with awe.
This guy was like a walking arsenal!
Absolutely amazing!
In her squad training, Jill was always the most skilled in explosives.
At that moment, she couldn't help but think that the mech warrior in the sky was incredibly cool, practically glowing with brilliance.
