Chapter 6: Chapter 6:Getting registered
Kain gradually opens his eyes, still experiencing a sense of lethargy, and begins to rise from his seated position. He navigates his way out of the closet and observes a bowl positioned on the bar. He proceeds towards it and notices a letter that states:.
Eat this then go into town and register. Just ask the guards at the bridge don't worry its free. -Vulcan
Kain, upon reading this, experiences a slight degree of confusion but proceeds to consume the contents of the bowl, which had a viscous texture and lacked any discernible flavor. Despite this, he ingests the food and begins to make his way to the bridge.
Upon reaching the bridge, he proceeded to approach the guard on the left and inquire as to the appropriate procedure for registering.
The guard regards him for a moment and then takes a deep breath, exhaling in a way that is both pronounced and exaggerated. He then says, "Brad, I am going to take this child to get registered, so please cover for me."
Brad, yeah yeah whatever just hurry back David
David, you know it. alright come on kid
Kain and David commenced their journey into the city.
From the outset, Kain repeatedly paused to admire the scenery, a practice that David found increasingly exasperating. He repeatedly urged the younger individual to resume their journey, but was met with a variety of expressions in response. This experience contributed to David's growing disdain for the situation.
Kain was wholly unaware of the disapproving stares he was receiving from the individuals he encountered.
Kain observed a multitude of architectural elements along the route, many of which exhibited a striking resemblance to one another. This phenomenon was particularly evident in the majority of the buildings, which appeared to have been constructed in a similar style. This led him to hypothesize that either the buildings were designed by the same individual or that the collective lack of creativity was a pervasive issue. However, despite this observation, the buildings were still regarded as aesthetically pleasing.
The majority of the houses were constructed using a combination of stone and lumber, with each layer of the structure extending beyond the previous one. The roofs were characterized by clay shingles. Additionally, each house featured a fireplace.
While taking in the sights, Kain abruptly collided with David, who had stopped in front of the town hall, resulting in Kain hitting his nose on the back of David's head.
The town hall was constructed from stone and timber, with a steeple that terminated in a point. The overall structure was an A-frame, with two stories.
Kain following David
David walks up to a girl behind of a bar and says to her, This kid is here to register.
The woman directs her attention beyond David and toward Kain, indicating with her gaze that he should accompany her. They proceed to traverse a hallway and enter a room. The room is devoid of any notable furnishings, except for a single, unadorned table. On the tabletop is a transparent orb.
The woman then turns to Kain and instructs him to place his hand on the crystal ball.
Kain proceeded to the crystal ball and placed his hand upon it. He experienced a sensation of warmth emanating from the ball. The woman approached, placed a sheet of paper on the ball, and then removed it after a brief interval.
On the paper was.

The woman then observed the situation and did not give it much thought, instructing Kain to follow her once more.
They proceed to reclaim their original position at the front of the establishment, whereupon she instructs Kain to take up a position in front of the bar. Kain complies with this directive.
The woman then procures an inkwell pen and inscribed a symbol of strangulation on a card. Kain was profoundly intrigued by this phenomenon, as it represented the inaugural instance of genuine magic he had observed in this realm.
The woman gazes at Kain and extends her hand in invitation. Kain complies, and she then proceeds to puncture his finger with a needle. Kain exhibits a startled response and attempts to disengage his hand from her grasp. However, she displays superior strength, preventing him from doing so. A small quantity of blood lands on the card, which then flashes white. Subsequently, she releases her hold on Kain's hand. Subsequently, she presents him with the card and makes a statement.
This is your identification document, which you may use to register for school or sign up at a guild, or to prove your identity. To update the document, simply provide another sample of blood.
Kain looks at the card and Notices it has all his info including stats and skills on the card as well as a big 0 in the right corner he doesn't know what that means so he asks the Lady
Its your Level.
Kain expresses gratitude and proceeds to rejoin David, who has been waiting at the front the entire time. They resume their journey, and Kain observes the people around him more closely. Most of them are clothed in modest attire, including multiple layers, despite the relatively warm weather. Each time he looks at someone, they return a hostile gaze. Then he notices a group of people. These individuals are all wearing The individuals in question were clad in armor of varying types. The first was a male, approximately 6.5 feet in height, who was equipped with full-body armor, a sword, and a large metal shield. The second was also male, wearing a metal chest plate with a sword at his hip. The remaining two were female, both with minimal armor and both bearing a staff. The most notable distinction was that one was attired in what could be described as holy garb.
Kain though to himself A party of a tank ,swordsman, mage, and a healer. Not bad
David and Kain proceeded to return to the bridge, with Kain continuing onward while David halted and return to his post.
Kain made his way back to Vulcans Workshop nothing of note happened.
Kain was on the verge of entering the premises when he discerned what seemed to be a vocal altercation. This prompted him to engage in a brief internal debate regarding the optimal course of action: whether to proceed with his intended entry or to bide his time.
