Chapter 41: Chapter 41

"Yes, that is indeed a Charizard."
At the frontlines of Yu no Kuni, Toki watched as Uchiha Setsuna interacted with his Charizard, a slight smile playing on his lips. He was intrigued.
After explaining to Setsuna the system's description of the Psychic Beast Cultivation Center, he was pleased to see the successful outcome, as it helped him gather more details for his research.
First of all, the little fire dragon that was summoned seemed to have a significantly higher IQ than the Charizards from the Pokémon world. Although it couldn't speak, it could write proficiently, showing intelligence far beyond what he expected. This was similar to spirit summoning, where the system granted these creatures some level of ninja knowledge upon summoning. It was likely an additional feature of the system, to prevent the little fire dragon from being unruly or not acclimating to this world—thus protecting its own reputation.
Secondly, after signing the psychic scroll, the little fire dragon could only fight for the summoner after receiving a contract via the Pokéball. If one recklessly summoned a little fire dragon without a contract, it would not only refuse to help but might also actively attack the summoner, as happened with Uchiha Setsuna earlier.
The cultivation center's arena existed to help the Uchiha clan subdue their psychic beasts.
Finally, the essence of the summoning was still rooted in the concept of "psychic summoning." Psychic beasts that had not been successfully tamed would return to their realm once the summoner's chakra was depleted.
The amount of chakra used determined the level of the fire dragon that would be summoned. Uchiha Setsuna, for instance, had summoned a Charizard using Jounin-level chakra. Most Chuunin would only be able to summon a fire dinosaur, and its future evolution path was yet to be determined.
As for Jonin-level shinobi, the Uchiha clan currently had no members at that level besides Toki.
Of the six Pokéballs Iron Fire sent back, only one contained the Charizard he had successfully tamed. The remaining were fire dinosaurs, and on four occasions, attempts to subdue them had failed. The strength of the fire dinosaur summoned by special Jounin seemed to be on the verge of evolution.
It was similar to leveling up in a Pokémon game, where creatures could go from level 1 to level 100. An ordinary shinobi would summon a level 1 fire dinosaur, while a special Jounin might summon one at level 100. Of course, this was just a metaphor, as the system didn't display levels like in the game.
However, it was clear that a little fire dragon possessed the strength of a Genin, a fire dinosaur had Chuunin-level strength, and Charizard had Jounin-level strength—without question.
Toki looked at the Evolution Stones and Moon Stones in the cultivation shop and speculated that these items might push Pokémon into super-evolution forms, likely equivalent to Kage-level strength.
After thoroughly understanding the functions of the Psychic Beast Cultivation Center, Toki was satisfied with its impact on the clan. As he predicted, working with psychic beasts could easily double the clan's power. Pokémon like Charizard could even serve as mounts for the Uchiha clan.
When members of the cavalry unit reached Jounin-level strength, Toki planned to give each of them a Charizard to ride, forming a team of dragon knights worthy of their title.
The only thing that pained Toki was the cost of these Pokéballs. The cheapest ones required 100 clan reputation points, and if a capture attempt failed, the ball couldn't be reused. The system was clearly a profiteer.
After completing his research on the [Psychic Beast Cultivation Center], Toki called over the leader of the archer squad, Bow One. He handed the Pokéball containing Charizard to Bow One and instructed him:
"Bow One, take the Charizard and scout the enemy. If you encounter any hostiles, let Charizard give them a fiery greeting."
During this period, depending on the specific training of the clan members, Toki had reorganized the troops according to their specialties.
To make things easier to remember, he categorized the ninja squads based on the job classes from the world of Shigetsu.
First Squad: Composed entirely of special Jounin, this swordsman (saber) unit was responsible for engaging the enemy's strongest forces.
Second Squad: Responsible for the frontlines, this squad of well-rounded hexagonal warriors and lancers was made up of Chuunin.
Third Squad: Focusing on strengthening their bodies, this archer squad was equipped with scientific ninja tools and tasked with handling solo missions.
Fourth Squad: Specializing in speed and endurance, this team was responsible for intelligence gathering, supply transport, and logistical support.
Fifth Squad: This group specialized in enhancing Ninjutsu and Chakra, forming a caster unit dedicated to large-scale ninjutsu.
The Sixth Squad was an assassin unit, previously tasked with setting traps and forming enchantments.
In theory, there should have been a berserker squad responsible for taking on the enemy's most elite forces. However, given that the minimum strength requirement for this role was elite Jounin, and only Uchiha Shisui and Toki currently qualified, he put the idea on hold for now. He planned to form the squad once more of the clan members reached that level.
For now, Toki ordered Bow One, the captain of the archer squad, to handle special reconnaissance missions. During battle, Toki would address them by number.
Excited, Bow One took the Pokéball from Toki's hand. He had long been eager to try out the fire-breathing dragon that Setsuna had subdued. Whether from a chakra or size perspective, Charizard's impressive stature made Bow One envious. Though it wasn't his own, it was still thrilling to ride it.
Mounting Charizard, Bow One and his dragon soared into the sky, heading toward the Land of Lightning.
Not far from a hot spring inn in a nearby town, a certain large golden retriever (· Y ·) wiped its eyes in disbelief as it stared at the black dot flying across the sky.
"Shizune, I think I've had too much drink. Was that... a dragon?"
