Chapter274-Change of Plans
"Follow the will of fate?"
Daniel was completely puzzled by Milla's words.
But before he could ask, Milla continued.
"What I mean by the will of fate is this—you do need my help."
"To be honest, I've seen your capabilities. If you're expecting me to help you kill the Emperor of Angels, I can't do it."
"Or rather, let me put it this way—on the Emperor's home turf, the Divine Realm, no one can kill him."
"But if all you need is someone to break through his defenses, that I can help with."
"You probably won't believe it, but I'm actually a lot stronger now than Kate was back then."
Hearing this, Daniel nodded.
"Good. In that case, we shouldn't have any issues."
"As long as you can breach his defenses, I'll have room to make my move."
Milla, however, gave a helpless smile in response.
"You make it sound easy, but have you considered something?" she said, eyebrows raised.
"With so many demigod-tier enemies around, are you sure I can even get close enough to crack his defenses?"
"Even if I can, are you not worried I might die in the process?"
Daniel's lips twitched.
Wasn't a devotee of the Luck Goddess supposed to be favored by fate?
A few demigods were enough to take her down?
Still, since Milla had raised the point herself, Daniel couldn't refute her. Instead, he paused to think, then asked seriously:
"In that case, tell me honestly—how strong are you now?"
"If I'm not up against the Emperor of Angels directly, I can probably take on two demigod-tier enemies at once. That's about my limit."
"But if I do face the Emperor himself, I don't stand a chance."
"So in the end, this battle still rests on your shoulders, Lord Daniel!"
Their conversation seemed to go on for quite some time.
But since it was done through mind power, it only took a moment in real-time—just a few blinks of an eye.
Within a few breaths, Daniel and Milla had reached an agreement.
Then Daniel began moving across the battlefield, collecting Angel Hearts.
Before he knew it, he had enough.
Meanwhile, the battlefield itself had completely tilted in their favor.
Until the higher-ranking angels took action, the ordinary ones didn't stand a chance.
The outer perimeter of the Dark Prison had become a massacre site.
Angels were being butchered on their own territory. And yet, the elite warriors of the Angel of Gold and Silver race chose to watch from the sidelines.
"Damn it! That Daniel actually released all the prisoners!"
"What do we do now? How are we supposed to report this to the Emperor of Angels?!"
The Archangel guarding the Dark Prison was in utter disbelief. His expression was as dark as thunderclouds.
He never expected that, in mere minutes, every cage would be opened.
Every terrifying creature once locked away had now been set loose.
Even though reinforcements had arrived, they were all low-level grunts.
Upon showing up, they were instantly obliterated.
None of the angels could figure out what had just happened.
Just ten minutes ago, Daniel had first entered the Divine Realm.
He immediately detonated a Primordial Core Weapon and summoned a horde of Abyssal Creatures.
They thought this large-scale battle would take time to escalate.
But before they could even fully process what had happened, Daniel had already destroyed Warehouse No. 98.
And if that had been the end of it, it might have been acceptable.
Such a loss, while painful, was within manageable limits.
But barely ten seconds after that, the Dark Prison fell into chaos.
All of the Angel of Gold and Silver elites were completely confused by Daniel's rampage.
He had only been in the Divine Realm for ten minutes, yet it was as if he knew the place like the back of his hand.
And even worse, every location he attacked was highly strategic.
The high-ranking angels were utterly baffled. Daniel's movements were so quick it seemed inhuman.
Most damning of all—his constant provocations had them running in circles, unable to catch up.
This was the Divine Realm, the sacred homeland of the angels.
So why did it feel like Daniel was more familiar with it than they were?
Wait a minute—whose turf is this really? Is this Daniel's Divine Realm or ours?!
Sea of Resurrection
At another location, Vinicius stood with a few old friends, reviewing the latest reports.
As the information came in, their faces turned from calm to shock.
"What did you just say? Warehouse No. 98 was destroyed?!"
"And all the prisoners from the Dark Prison have been set free?!"
"Are you kidding me right now?!"
In that instant, every senior angel present—including Vinicius—had their expressions darken.
It was obvious now: summoning god to deal with Daniel might be necessary.
"Everyone, start thinking. We need to predict where Daniel will show up next."
But despite trying various prophecy spells, none of them worked. Daniel's movements were completely unpredictable.
Then one of the senior angels suddenly spoke up.
"Actually… I might know where Daniel will appear next."
Back at the Dark Prison,
Daniel had once again changed his appearance, assuming yet another angel's identity.
Then he used a teleportation array.
For the angelic race, if they wanted to block Daniel from using teleportation arrays, there was only one solution:
Ban all teleportation arrays for every angel.
Because as long as Daniel could disguise himself as any angel, he could use those arrays freely.
But this worry was clearly unfounded.
Right now, most of the angels still didn't even understand how Daniel was moving around.
From the perspective of the senior angels, Daniel just had some kind of strange spatial ability, allowing him to appear anywhere at will.
They never imagined it was as simple as using the public teleportation system.
In reality, there was more than one prison in the Divine Realm.
Even the Angel of Gold and Silver had many enemies, and thus had built multiple prisons to detain them.
Daniel had officially changed his strategy.
He now realized that he alone couldn't plunge the entire Divine Realm into chaos.
After all, the number of Abyssal Summoned Creatures was limited, and the Divine Realm itself was enormous.
So he turned his attention to those other prisons.
If he couldn't force the high-level angels to spread out, he and Milla had no chance of assassinating the Emperor of Angels.
All of them were at similar power levels. No one had a massive advantage.
And if the battle devolved into a siege, even a devotee of the Luck Goddess like Milla could very well fall.
But Daniel…
He was the true anomaly.
Level 100
Planning to assassinate the Level 500 Emperor of Angels.
If that wasn't madness, then what was?
