His words had not even finished when the clicking sound of heels reverberated by the office room and Lilith entered the place.

"Ace, Dad had to return…" Her words trailed off.

The moment Lilith entered the office room, the sight that greeted her was of Ella half-nestled in Adrian's arms as they sat on the couch.

But within a split-second, she resumed her calm demeanor as she spoke, "Dad had to return early to Country A for business affairs so he left me to deal with the land issue in Westra City."

As she spoke, she took out a file from her bag, 'I have spent quite a long time arranging this information. We can go through it now."

Adrian nodded slowly as he stood up.

Lilith's steady gaze flicked to Ella as she said, 'This matter is highly confidential."

Ella nodded calmly as she pushed herself to her feet, "I will work outside then…."

Just as Ella had reached out to pick the laptop, Adrian grabbed her hand, "No need.."

Ella blinked as the man sat her back on the couch and ruffled the top of her head gently, 'Be good and work here."

Ella's eyes twinkled. The words 'I am not a dog, stop ruffling me' stayed on the edge of her tongue.

The discussion between Lilith and Adrian went on for quite some time.

But during this whole time, Lilith's composure had shattered, bit by bit.

In the first 15 minutes, Ella accidentally played loud music while editing her videos. And she did not know how to turn it off in the new laptop, so Adrian personally helped her.

In the next 10 minutes, Ella started to doze off so Adrian helped her lie down on the couch.

In the next 15 minutes, she rubbed her hands in her sleep, and Adrian pulled a huge blanket out of somewhere and draped it over her.

Then, she seemed to be snoring lightly so Adrian asked Lilith to lower her voice.

And now that Lilith had finally lowered her voice to speak, Adrian was no longer looking at her or even listening to her.

Lilith followed Adrian's gaze and glanced at Ella who was lying on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket snugly.

Suddenly, Ella kicked her leg out of the couch and rolled to the side.

For a moment, it looked like she was about to fall.

But Adrian got up and walked off to the couch. He gently cradled the woman and pulled her into his arms, placing her in a comfortable position.

"Ace, I…"

Adrian looked at Lilith, motioning a small finger to his lips.

Lilith froze as she looked at the man but Adrian did not spare her another gaze.

A man like Ace... would really spoil a woman to this extent?

Lilith's lips thinned as she walked out of the office room.

"Miss Quinn., are you done so soon…?" Ji Yan was astonished when Lilith walked past him without even acknowledging his words.

He had never seen the woman lose her composure like this. Unless….

Ji Yan glanced at the closed door of the office room and thought… Miss Quinn must have seen something she couldn't tolerate.

On the other hand, Lilith was not unpopular in the King Empires. Most of the higher-ups were familiar with her.

So, on the way, many of them tried to talk to her yet Lilith did not respond to anyone.

Only after she stepped inside the elevator did she pull out her phone and dialled a number.

"Did you find that person?" Lilith asked, once the call was answered.

In a far away penthouse, Eli turned to look at the shadow moving behind the door, "Yes."

"Did you confirm her background?" Lilith asked again.

"Yes," Eli looked at his reflection in the mirrored wall.

"Well then. It is time to find the Yu Family."

Eli smiled, "Leave it to me."

"Bitch! Slut! Bastard!" Esther kicked the stones on the street as she turned to look at the grand and towering Mystic Studios.

They kicked her out just like that… They actually kicked her out without rhyme or reason.

And that bastard, Max, he couldn't even do anything to protect her.

'No wonder Ella stopped liking him overnight…' Esther's lips curled in disgust.

"They brought that slut Violet back to the cast and kicked me out!" Just thinking about how Mo Jun had closed the door on her face a few minutes ago when she visited him, Esther shook with rage.

Suddenly, Esther thought of how Mo Jun brought Violet back and her face contorted even further, "Could it be… Did he find out what I had done back then…?"

Esther searched through her bag and pulled out a handkerchief that had violet flowers embroidered on it. After a moment, she shook her head, "That's impossible… Right, impossible… If he knew, he would not be so calm."

Gritting her teeth, Esther turned to leave.

But at this moment, a black van sped up towards her.

Startled, Esther retreated a few steps.

But suddenly, the door to the van opened and two strong hands yanked Esther inside the van.

"Ahh! You… Let me go! Do you know who I am?" She glared at the people covered in black.

But they seemed unresponsive. Just as Esther was about to lash out again, the men slammed a black piece of cloth over her head.

Soon, a strange fragrance entered her nostrils and Esther felt her vision fading immediately.

When Esther opened her eyes, everything was dark. She realized that the black cloth was still covering her head.

But just as she moved to remove it, she found that her hands were tied.

There was the sound of approaching footsteps in the place.

"Seems like you are awake," A mellow and charming voice entered Esther's ears.

"Who are you? Why have you brought me here?" Esther spoke in a gentler tone, unsure of her surroundings and the other party's intentions.

The man chuckled, "She calls you useless but I think you are pretty smart. With the right resources, you can do a lot more."
