The moment Ella pushed open the door to Adrian's office room, she did not enter immediately.

The moment Ella tried to straighten up[, Adrian grabbed her waist and pulled her onto his lap, "Where do you think you are going?"

Startled by the abrupt movement, Riri and Lala jumped away from Ella and started playing around in the office.

Ella smiled as she raised the bag in her hand, "I brought us lunch."

Adrian's eyes flickered the bag in her hand and then he looked at her smile, his gaze warmed subtly.

In no time, Ella served the food for Riri and Lala in their favorite corner. And then, she laid out the dishes for herself and Adrian on the coffee table in the office.

When Adrian took a seat on the couch, his gaze roamed across the dishes and his brows scrunched slightly.

"I wanted to make lunch but I was very late and the Chef had already prepared everything.. So, I did not waste anything," Ella looked at the food before turning to look at him, "But I have made one dish for you."

Adrian's brows relaxed slightly when he heard that, 'Which one?"

"It's up to you to figure out…" Ella said challengingly.

Adrian stretched a hand towards her and the moment she placed her hand on his, he pulled her onto his lap.

Adrian held a fork, his hand hoovering over all the dishes before it came to a halt in front of the most simple dish.

It was a plain dish of stir fried veggies and meat with poached eggs, topped with some sesame seeds.

Without hesitation, Adrian took a bite from it.

Ella's eyes lit up, 'You could tell? Is it because my dish looks too plain among the rest?"

''Looks appetizing," Adrian responded crisply before he resumed eating.

His initial scowl at the sight of food was replaced by a pleasant expression, and he seemed to have gotten an appetite.

Ella was a bit too flattered at that moment. Eve Mansion had some of the top chefs of the country but in front of their dishes, Adrian actually found her plain stir fried veggies and meat more appetizing?

Is this… the power of… ahem… her charms?

But looking at him eating the food sincerely, she did not think he said all that just to please her.

While she was thinking, a spoon stopped in front of her mouth. One by one, Adrian fed her all the dishes.

But throughout the course of lunch, he only ate from her dish.

And although Ella had noticed it a few times in the past, she made a mental note of it this time: He ate well when she cooked something for him.

After their lunch together, Ella told Adrian that she had some work to do. So, he provided her with a spare laptop.

Ella sat on the couch to work while Adrian sat beside her, looking like he had no intentions to work.

Ella gave him a look.

"What are you doing?" He looked at the laptop she was holding, his gaze was sincerely curious.

"Recently, I haven't made social media posts so I am thinking of scheduling some of my previous pictures to be posted, plus my skincare routines so I can also promote Lilac's products..."

Adrian listened to her intently as she explained her plans to him.

Ella paused.

Bewildered, she opened her mouth to speak when there was a knock on the door.
