Chapter 2: Hyper Adaptive
I've been testing the things I was capable for a couple of days now, and I was, and still am astonished by the things I can do.
I realized that I had eidetic/photographic memory, since I could recall all the days I was awake for perfectly with picture perfect detail too.
I could also process information rather quickly. If I had to give an estimate by how much faster I could process things, I would say about 3 times faster than what a normal human could pull off, which was extremely fast.
And earlier today, I realized that I could scan and save data within the suit's memory. Which was interesting.
The energy meter I was curious about was actually used for a 'stealth' feature but, I could only keep my stealth mode active for about 30 seconds. I haven't tried it again since.
Last but probably not feature or perk was that my suit was extremely adaptive. I could do anything strenuous for a continues period, then the suit would vibrate a little, and in the next moment, I would be far more resistant to said thing if given enough exposure.
Yesterday I while I was out and about searching and figuring myself out. I went to a lava pit that was out in the middle of a canyon.
When I had scanned it, the suit gave me the metrics of how hot and deep it could be. Since I was curious, I wanted to test the suit's capabilities.
However, since it was so hot, I had my time to move closer to the source of the heat. I felt my body suddenly vibrating, then i got comfortable and inched closer until I couldn't bear it anymore. I felt pain from the sheer steam for 10 minutes, but after that, the suit did its thing, vibrating over time. Then little by little, I started feeling normal again, as if my body wasn't next to hot lava.
I just simply couldn't feel said heat anymore. And to put that into perspective. The steam alone was over 1723.3° Celsius.
Yes, this meant that I could withstand said temperatures easily and somewhat consistently without issue. Which was amazing.
And now, my entire body could resist it.
I wanted to go farther, but it's best if I took my time to build my resistances a little more before dipping my hand in a lake of literal magma...
Still, I didn't know what to do now...
"I tested almost everything... wait... I don't remember testing my physical capabilities. That should be easy enough..." I said to myself.
I quickly left the area to find myself a decent sized rock to test my strength with...
I used my scanner to see a set of them ranging from 100kg to 1300kg.
I started with the lightest one, of course. And to my surprise. I could barely lift it.
Still, this wasn't lightweight at all. I was lifting a little over 220 pounds, which is impressive. But with a speed of 120+ mph at the start, I expected to be able to lift more than that.
Still, this weight soon became nothing as my suit was adapting to it with each lift.
And after half an hour of training. I could lift that same 100kg rock, with little to no effort and with one hand too. It was so easy that I could throw it as far as any other rock.
But since I didn't really know the upper limit of my lifting capabilities. So, like with my speed and other capabilities, I asked for the metrics regarding my strength.
Checking it. I realized that I could lift 2.1 tons. Which was a massive jump, however, it wasn't an unexpected one.
Since I wasn't only lifting the rocks, I was also throwing them with all my power. That must be why my strength increased so much, since throwing an object demands much more energy than lifting it merely, especially if it goes far.
I took the time to reflect on the things I had done so far, and I was impressed. But now, I didn't have much to...
"...I'm bored again..." I said.
I continued to walk for a couple of hours more with nothing but a barren wasteland ahead of me...
_______________
After a couple of days of wondering aimlessly, clearly one could tell that this wasn't earth. This planet looked like it though, or it was, but different...
I continued to walk for another hour. And now I saw a snowy biome a couple of kilometers ahead.
As I made my way towards it. I then heard a monstrous scream to my left...
*GRAAAHHHH!!!*
I turned around to see the creature in the horizon, swiftly making its way towards me...
"Fuck! the hell is that thing!" I shouted, running in the opposite direction. It was massive, probably around 12-13 feet tall if I had to estimate. It had claws for hands and it was on all fours seemingly in sturdy armour like carapace...
Plus, it was fast, but I was faster. I quickly made my way towards the snow biome, since that could be a good place to lose it...
I looked behind me, to find that. To my surprise, it started speeding up. It was actually catching up with me...
"The hell? The first thing I meet in days and it's a fucking alien?!" I said, panicking.
Trying my hardest to go faster, but my adaptive feature wasn't kicking in. My suit would no longer grow from me just trying to speed up. I was right; it needs an external factor to keep adapting...
"Shit! it's seconds away from catching up to me!" I shouted terrified. I was confident in my strength, but not that confident. It's clear as day that I couldn't dare take this thing on...
I continued running, but that did nothing. In one swift motion, I felt my body get hit with a thunderous blow to my left.
It attacked quickly, far faster than what creatures its size should be capable of...
I coughed blood after falling from hundreds of meters. When I got up, I felt a pain like I couldn't imagine...
My left arm was twisted and mangled in places it shouldn't be, my bone sticking out from the armour. I felt as if something punctured my lungs. I attempted to stand, however.
I felt my legs give way easily... My vision getting hazy... I felt like death itself was looming over me...
'A-Am I going to die like this....' I thought, fading away into unconsciousness...
