Chapter 1034: A Historic day (3)

"What!" Anthony Matthewson exclaimed in shock as he got up, his face full of disbelief, his mouth wide open, spittle flying everywhere.

His friends, who had come to the event with him, were equally stunned. Their eyes widened as if they had seen a ghost. "Does that mean the Emperor of the Bharatiya Empire has not betrayed these commanders and ministers by forcing them to resign, but is actually promoting them to a higher rank, granting them their own territories?"

This thought threw them into complete panic. Even when half of Europe had joined hands, they had failed to do anything against the Bharatiya Empire in a proxy war fought right on their own doorstep. Could they really hope to achieve anything, even if the whole of Europe unified and fought on the Bharatiya Empire's borders? It seemed extremely doubtful.

And now, this very nation, this colossal behemoth, was actually enfeoffing land to its most decorated commanders and leaders. Wasn't this the same as creating more subordinate states, skilled in both military and commerce, and capable of standing by the Bharatiya Empire even in its darkest times?

Anthony couldn't just accept it, so he began to grasp for the silver lining. " Maybe it's not so bad. These commanders will definitely have their own selfishness, maybe we can cause a fisher in the relationship," he muttered after sitting down listlessly.

But his companion looked at him with hatred. " Idiot, the Bharatiya Mahasamudra is still controlled by the Bharatiya Empire. As long as the Bharatiya Emperor Vijay has his stronghold in Madagascar Nagara and Samudra Nagari, our entry into the Southeast Asian waters will be completely cut off."

Anthony's face became white with fright, whiter than he already was.

Naturally, the people of the empire had a different reaction. Most of them clapped with happiness, while others were relieved.

" Thankfully, you don't have to worry about the Civil War in Bharatiya Empire," the diplomats from Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern countries muttered.

" But is the Bharatiya Empire really going to give away its land to the commanders? I always had the impression that Emperor Vijay took full control of the situation and managed everything."

" That is indeed a curious subject, but let's wait and see."

Vijay looked at everyone in the crowd without any expression on his face. He stood on the stage unmoved, not swayed by anyone's remarks or comments.

" Before I enthrone the new kings affiliated to the Bharatiya Empire, let me first explain where the kingdoms will be formed, and in what way they will exist."

" The previously titled kings will be enfeoffed to the frontiers of the empire, and these frontiers will transform into subsidiary kingdoms of the Bharatiya Empire."

Smart people were not surprised, as they had already guessed that it would be the frontiers that would be handed over to the commanders, since there was no way in hell that his majesty the emperor, one of the most respected monarchs of the world, would do something as stupid as give away territory in the mainland. However, most of the people were still surprised and exclaimed, with some keeping their mouths wide open while others covering it with their hands.

" The new kings ruling these kingdoms will have full control over administration, be it control over the local police, control over the law, or control over the economy, rules, and the regulations."

" What the Bharatiya Empire still holds in these new kingdoms is the power of diplomacy, the power of finances, and the power over the military."

Vijay's words immediately drew the ridicule of the Europeans who doubted how sincere the Bharatiya emperor's words were.

" Heh, like I suspected, Emperor Vijay is really not giving up his power over the frontiers completely. Take away the power of diplomacy, finance, and military, what he is handing over to the commanders is simply a territory that is a shell." The man sneered with disdain. But the next moment, he was slapped in the face, not by vijay, who somehow overheard his statement, but by his very colleague, which left him completely dumbfounded.

Hearing the sneer of his friend, Anthony Matthewson did not feel happy at all; instead, he felt worried. " While that may be so, the wealth generated by the frontiers, or according to what the emperor said, subsidiary kingdoms, will increase massively, and this wealth will definitely be used to build stronger armies, stronger navies, and a stronger military as a whole."

" We are unable to handle the Bharatiya Empire as it is. Can we really handle all of the East combined?"

His colleagues' face immediately changed. Yes, that's right, just because the Bharatiya Empire holds the core elements of a country that define its sovereignty, like diplomacy, finance, and military, does it mean that these kingdoms are not a threat? Thinking of how the situation has been set up now, things have become much more complicated.

The Bharatiya Empire couldn't exert its full control over the frontiers because it was too far away, but now that commanders of the Bharatiya Empire are taking posts as kings, in order to get better support from the Bharatiya Empire, will they not develop their kingdoms properly and become the sharpest swords and sturdiest shields for the Bharatiya Empire?

' Gulp!'

Vijay was not aware of the thoughts of the Europeans, but even if he knew, he wouldn't care. He simply looked at the crowd straight and spoke out.

" Everyone, please welcome Ramayya Senapati, titled king and the son of legendary general and marshal Logananda Senapati."

A tall, lean and muscular older man, carrying an air of deterrence, walked up on the stage, but his whole demeanour was respectful and even a little humble. The people who realised who the person was immediately screamed from the top of their lungs and clapped until their hands became white.

"I hereby declare you the King of Javanesha. May the Trimurtis and Trishaktis be with you, may Lombodara guide your endeavours, and may Anjani guide your sword."

' Shing!'

Ramayya's heartbeat jumped because he could feel a few hairs being spliced away with the light contact of his majesty's sword, and not only that, the smell of blood, thick iron blood dried for so long yet keeping its sharp edge, hit his senses, making him unable to comprehend. He realised that although he was being bestowed the supreme honour he had never dreamt of, the sword of his majesty the emperor was still above his head, ready to chop him off if he did something that crossed the line.

" Rise, Ramayya senapati."

He raised his head with great respect, and unexpectedly, the prince and the little emperor Agni Devaraya stood before him. In his hands was a beautiful crown embroidered with various jewellery and gems, its style representing the local culture of Javanese. With the loud sound of the band playing, he was enthroned with the crown.

The cheers were deafening, but he had already tuned out all those sounds. He was in a deep trance with absolute chaos in his mind, countless emotions and thoughts colliding with each other, unable to make him understand what he had to do. Thankfully, his majesty spoke the next moment.

" Take your seat on the stage."

As if by instincts honed over decades of following that man, Ramayya Senapati looked for the emblem that was present in his crown and sat on a throne among dozens of thrones on the stage.

" Titled King Yogendra Singh, the protector of the mountains and forests."

' Shing!'

"I, as the Emperor of the Bharatiya Empire, declare you the King of Kalakuta. May the blessings of the Trimurtis and Trishaktis be with you, may Lambodhara guide your wisdom, and Anjani your sword. Rule it with Dharma."

Agni was once again responsible for placing the crown on Yogendra's head, and this crown was shaped like a dastar, a symbol of a sikh.

Although overwhelmed, he still followed his orders and took his rightful place on the throne. Ramayya Senapati had recovered by now, but looking at his colleague, who was in a trance, he did not try to talk to him. Instead, he fell into thinking, what if his father were still alive to witness such a day? He became emotional, making his eyes water a little, but it was quickly suppressed and wiped away.

On the stage, such a scene happened multiple times. Commander Lachit Borphukan was given the rule over Reshmi Vardhan (Victoria). Narasimha Nayak was given the territory of Vishala Nagari (New South Wales). Minister of Defence Kiran Poojari was given the rule of Arodhana Puri (West Africa). Admiral and Marshal of the Empire, Gangadhar Nayak, was given Purva Desha (Timor Leste). Gautham, the commander of the naval fleet, was given the territory of Vidyanagari (Northern Territorie). Akhil and Prasanna Nayar were also given their own territories in the new frontiers being established in Africa.

The stage had gotten pretty crowded, but the event went on as His Majesty started to call the names of titled kings from outside the military.

Like the Prime Minister of the Emperor himself, Vinod, who received his territory in the newly established frontier on the western bank of the Mozambique Strait (Mozambique). Gusti Praji Shakti, already a nominal king of Bali Devarapura (Bali), solidified his presence by becoming its actual ruler. Adithya Bhosle, the King of Samudra Nagari, was now granted his own territory, Prabhavapura (Southern Australia), and finally King Jayadwaj Singha, ruling Nagapura (Papua New Guinea).

The surprising thing was that His Majesty even allocated territories to his descendants: Princess Tanvika, who would rule Vayudhvaja (Sumatra), and his son Vedanth, who would rule Malaya Pradesha (Malaysia).

Just when everyone began to think His Majesty had missed someone, he spoke out:

"This last person is a dear friend of mine," Vijay stated, a smile tugging at his lips. "This person was responsible for single-handedly sinking the Ottoman ships when they came to reinforce the Mughal Empire through the Red Sea. He also thwarted countless plans of the Mughals and single-handedly infiltrated multiple major cities of the Mughal Empire, destroying them from within. He is the liberator of Nepal. Countless people in the empire see him as the incarnation of Lord Shiva himself."

" May I present to you the orphan who had become the greatest warrior of the Bharatiya empire, heck, the greatest warrior the world has ever seen, Sarvesh, Sarvesh Ranavikrama, the demon sword of the Akanda Bharatiya Empire."

There was uproar among the people as if they were welcoming their favourite hero to their homes. The legend of Sarvesh was known to all; it was even made into multiple stories, novels, chitrakaras, and, more recently, the moving picture machine company had purchased the copyright of his story to make it into a moving picture.

Unfortunately, just as Sarvesh set foot on the stage, the applause slowly died down, because many people had heard about Sarvesh but had never seen him. But now, seeing him, he brought immense pressure to them. The man was filled with scars all over, his arms as thick as the barks of trees, and his waist as big as that of bears. Despite the silver hair, his eyes were sharp, and his every step was filled with might that cannot be explained. He carried a large, giant sword by his waist, much bigger than that of his majesty, the emperor.

His bloody red aura lingered around him like a blanket covering his body. People even felt an illusion that his energy overwhelmed his emperor. Even though he was kneeling, it looked as if his majesty looked smaller, but that was only for a split second. Because the next moment, his majesty radiated an immense might that was unexplainable. This might was that of a calm mountain pressing on everyone's hearts. The sword energy of Sarvesh was sharp, but under the weight of a mountain pressing on it, it had no choice but to go back into its sheath.

Agni, who was right next to these two powerhouses, did not change his expression. He had been to war; he had already become accustomed to overwhelming auras, but even he could feel his scalp tingle, not to mention the Kings like Vedant, Tanvika, Vinod, Adithya, and Jayadwaj Singha, who had sweat pouring down from their brows.

'Shing!'

Vijay unsheathed his blade, placed it on the shoulders of Sarvesh, radiating an intense bloodlust, a bloodlust that was several times more intense than before.

Vijay looked at Sarvesh without any expression on his face. Sarvesh was the best warrior his empire had ever produced, but due to this, he was also a double-edged sword. But Vijay was not a pushover. Even though Sarvesh might have defeated more enemies than he could have ever done, the blood in his hands could form rivers, lakes, and some small seas. How could he lose to Sarvesh when it comes to presence? He has not gotten to his place by simply sitting in the palace and letting everyone decide everything for him. It is he, Vijay Devaraya, who has decided who gets to live and who gets to die. He wouldn't let a warrior who does not know Rajatanthram overwhelm him.

"I, as the Emperor of the Bharatiya Empire, declare you, Sarvesh Ranavikrama, the King of Suyanagari, Queensland. May the blessings of the Trimurtis and Trishaktis be with you, may Lambodara guide your wisdom, and Anjani your sword. Rule it with Dharma."

After all the coronations, Vijay took his rightful spot on the largest throne of them all, the throne of the emperor, the throne of the emperor of the Sanathana Alliance, the eternal alliance, or as called in future generations, the precursor to the Eastern Dharmaik Alliance.
