Chapter 87: [87] System??
Start stared at the screen in shock, unsure of what to do.
"What is this?"
Was it because of his ascension or because of something else? He had not heard of a single Awakened who possessed such a strange floating tab.
He observed it for a moment then reached out to touch it. His fingers just strolled above the screen, but the moment he touched it, another stab suddenly popped up, surprising him.

Stark read through every single word witter on the screen, absorbing the information like a curious child would.
Most of the things on the tab were things he already knew, it was as though it served as a visual reference that he could always go back to.
But Stark was sure it was more than that, after all, there were a few things he had no clue about. He traced the tab with his eyes and landed on the first strange tab—
Primordial sun of anguish…
He went over the words a number of times, completely lost. It was under "unique buffs", but Stark could not imagine how this could even be a unique buff.
That was when he remembered something…
There was a time he might have felt something related in the past. The time when he fought the crusader Caylus, backs then. He had felt a strange power when he got angry.
'Maybe it is related?'
Stark's hand hovered over the tab for a second, his movement slightly unsure, then he tapped it.
Click!
A whole new tab appeared next to the first one, this one was slightly smaller and had a Humber of words written on it.
[Unique Buffs]
>>Primordial Sin Of Anguish<<
A lonely goddess once cast her gaze upon the stars, seeking solace in their beauty. But even a million ethereal lights of Celestia could not calm her grieving heart. And so her heart ran cold, colder than the abyss itself.
When feeling extreme anguish or sadness, spirit attributes are buffed by 50 - 75%
>>Primordial Sin Of Rage<<
Rage is fire, violent in nature, it is destruction given form. It knows no allies, knows no fear, knows no solace. All it does is burn and bring ruin.
I have become the very incarnation of fire, and as such I must do that which I have become.
—Kanak
When overwhelmed by anger, the host enters a 'rage mode' and all physical attributes are doubled.
Stark read over the words the first time, then he went over it again and again, then his eyebrows drew together in confusion.
The buffs made sense, he could understand them perfectly well, the problem was the extra details that came along with them.
'Are these satirises real?'
There were a few people that worshiped their version of the gods scattered across the continent, but knowledge about the figures called gods was severely lacking.
The Arcana seemed to be speaking about two different gods, most likely key figure when it came to the sin of rage and anguish.
The first was said to have grown cold from sorrow while the second burned like a flame, yet only one name was mentioned….
Kanak.
'Haven't I heard it somewhere?'
Stark sighed.
"Another time…" there were still a few other tabs that were of interest to him.
"Dark Awakener."
Normally, he would have been confused about this part of Jade had not educated him on the different types of awakeners in the past.
Stark walked out of bed, feeling pain explode on his back as he managed to get up, doing his best to walk off the pain.
Light Awakeners are those who awaken from bright emotions. Things like joy, happiness and the likes.
But Dark awakeners those that rise from negative emotions, things like hate, spite, fear, pain and others like them.
Light awakeners were often preferred to Dark awakeners, and the reason was pretty evident.
Finally, Stark's eyes roamed down, moving past the tab that gave a list of all his spirits until It landed on the quest board.
"Does that mean I will be getting quests? How will that even work?"
Creak!
Stark's eyes immediately locked on his room door that was slowly being pushed open.
He had no idea who was entering the room, and until he figured out what exactly the screen was, he wasn't too inclined on letting anyone see it.
"Go! Disappear!" He whispered sharply, but the screen remained.
He even went as far as trying to grab it, his hands simply slipped past it, then the room door was suddenly pushed open.
'Shit!' He cursed just as the person stepped into the room, her eyes locked on him.
"Jade?"
Standing in front of his door post was Jade, looking as stoic as usual. She was in a simple white gown that flowed freely down her body, and her dark hair cascaded behind her back like a stream of black waters.
In her hands was a tray of steaming hot food, arranged beautifully on the plate. Just the aroma alone caused his belly to rumble.
Jade glanced at Stark who still had his hands in front of him as though he was hugging air, then frowned.
"What are you doing?"
"Uhum…" he cleared his throat, organising himself. "I'm just stretching…."
He glanced at the screen which was still in front of him and then looked at Jade.
'She can't see it?'
Her eyes had not even glanced at the screen even once after coming into the room.
"You were badly injured, you should rest…" Jade said, her voice unusually softer than before. She walked up to his bed and placed the tray of food in front of it before sitting by the side.
"You must be hungry, it's been two days after all."
Stark's eyes widened. "Two what??"
He ran his hand down his face, massaging the bridge of his nose as he did.
"No wonder my body feels so weird."
He let out a sigh and stared at the screen in front of him. Then he closed his eyes and tried to command it mentally, the way he did his spirits.
When he opened his eyes, the screen was gone.
