Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 358: Leave 358

The two said goodbye to their classmates again before hurriedly heading home.

After lunch, Zhao Lizheng handed 900 yuan to Jiang Xinyu. "Xiao Jiang, count it."

"Hmm, this house will be yours this afternoon, but we still need to stay one more night."

"Absolutely."

Jiang Xinyu went to the Housing Bureau with the couple.

Transferring ownership was quite simple; Zhang Shuping held the property deed in her hands, finally feeling relieved.

With a house, they had a home. It would be great if they could bring their children over for school.

The furniture at home was left to them, but they would have to prepare the household items themselves.

"Xinyu, we'll go back to our hometown for a while. Just lock the keys inside; I have a set with me."

"Alright."

Jiang Xinyu thought Zhang Shuping would be worried, but she was unexpectedly generous?

Only their family was left at home. Bai Hongying had already bought some pork this morning; they would make dumplings for dinner, as per Shang Zhenkun's request.

"Mom, are you reluctant to leave here?" Jiang Feifei asked with a smile.

"Hmm, yes, Mom is indeed a bit reluctant. I'm about to leave; this place has been my life for four years. How many four-year spans does one have in life?"

"Mom, you can come back in the future," Shi Jing added from the side.

Jiang Xinyu nodded with a smile, "Yes, we can come back when we have the chance. You two should also remember this place. You were both born here."

Both children nodded. Shi Jing would soon be four years old and he surely remembered his life here.

Jiang Xinyu suddenly stood up; she hadn't gone to the police station to get the relocation proofs.

"You two stay at home while I go to the police station. Your household registration needs to be moved back."

Jiang Xinyu hurried to the police station and explained her situation.

"Comrade, would you please issue a relocation proof for me?" Moving from my hometown to the textile factory required such a proof.

The officer here was very polite, checked the children's household registration, and quickly issued two relocation proofs.

"Comrade, you'll need to mail the registration page back to us."

"Alright, I'll definitely mail it back after handling the registration. Give me the address and the phone number here, I'll call when I send it."

Jiang Xinyu contemplated if she had forgotten anything, ultimately confirming all was arranged. If there was an issue, she could contact the school by phone and Counselor Zhang for help.

Although most things were already mailed back, they still had some change of clothes, toiletries, a big bag of food, and two electric fans.

"Xiao Jiang, if it's inconvenient, I can mail the electric fans back to you."

"No need, Aunt Bai. It's not too much stuff, it's fine."

The main concern was they would stay in the Provincial City for a few days, where it would definitely be hot. The fans would be useful.

After dinner, the two children bathed themselves.

Lying on the brick bed, Jiang Xinyu couldn't sleep; it was the last night here, recalling the four years lived here. With two children, she didn't feel lonely.

She had her children here without time to wallow in sadness.

Later, Wei Kaiyun joined her, and then they had Feifei. Except for the first day of discomfort upon arrival, she was used to it here.

Half-awake, she heard noises from outside.

Opening her eyes, she checked the time; it was already two-thirty. She hurriedly got up.

Bai Hongying was in the kitchen preparing breakfast. It was meat sandwiches. The kids couldn't eat anything else at that time, and the sandwiches would be saved to eat on the train after dawn.

The meat had been braised before she went to sleep last night, now it was just right.

Bai Hongying prepared five, the remaining meat and bread were stored separately; they should be fine for lunch without going bad.

Seeing Jiang Xinyu come in, "Xiao Jiang, you don't need to be here. Go and pack the fans, wake the kids later."

At three forty, Bai Hongying pushed a cart, Jiang Xinyu held her two kids, and they headed to the train station.

"Mom, it's so quiet at night."

"Yes, at this time, everyone is sleeping."

"Shi Jing, people are most relaxed at this time."

Not sure if Shi Jing understood, but Shang Zhenkun said it anyway.

At four fifteen, they reached the station, found the ticket office, and bought a platform ticket — they would have to bring the cart in.

The two kids sat obediently next to Shang Zhenkun.

By four twenty-five, an announcement was heard. The midnight passengers weren't numerous, so they boarded the train easily.

Bai Hongying waved to their family, bidding farewell after four years together.

"Mom, I already miss Grandma Bai."

Jiang Xinyu touched Shi Jing's head, "There's no feast that doesn't disperse. Everyone will part ways one day."

With their own private space, the family felt particularly relaxed. The train windows were open, and it felt comfortably cool.

At five, the day was already bright. "Should you two eat? Would you like me to make milk powder?"

"Yes, they're sandwiches right? I can smell the fragrance."

Each got a bowl of milk while Shang Zhenkun drank hot water; he didn't care for anything else.

After eating, Shang Zhenkun took the kids outside to wander. "Few people now, let me take them out for a stroll."

Finally on the train heading home, Jiang Xinyu was excited. They were finally going back.

An hour later, the three returned, the kids looking quite enthusiastic.

Then Shang Zhenkun tested them on reciting ancient poetry, learning two new poems.

At nine in the morning, it got hot, making it uncomfortable in such a small space.

"Shi Jing, Feifei, nap now. You'll be ready for lunch when you wake."

"Mom, we don't want to sleep now; we'll rest after lunch."

"Alright, Mom just doesn't want you worn out."

At eleven, the four took lunch boxes and sandwiches to the dining car, getting just two bowls of porridge.

After lunch, Shang Zhenkun led the kids for a walk again. At noon, Jiang Xinyu fetched water, bathing the kids in a large basin before they slept.

Getting up early today, the children fell asleep once they lay down.

"Master Shang, you rest too."

At three in the afternoon, the kids woke up. "Shi Jing, Feifei, soon entering the station; do you want to go and see?"

"Xiao Jiang, you stay here, I'll take the kids to look around."

"Let's go together. I brought a lock; we'll secure the door. I want to see it too."
