Chapter 511: Time to Build
The family hired a nanny who usually takes care of the three children, along with Li Qiuhua and Granny Lu, each taking care of one, which makes things quite easy. Qin Xiangnuan herself felt like there was nothing for her to do; she just needed to remember to breastfeed Little San, while the other two just took formula.
Unfortunately, Little San is picky and doesn't like formula much, whereas the other two aren't picky at all; whatever is given, they'll eat, no wonder they are so fair and cute.
The children are still young, so she doesn't go to the office. In her spare time, she likes to design clothes in the system, creating designs herself and then handing them to Zhao Jinmin to handle. Both her company's latest high-end releases and those of their collaborating companies are taken care of this way.
She hasn't really calculated how much money she actually has; each collaborating company sends her substantial dividends, which she hasn't really touched, as the internet cafe at home is enough for their expenses.
She flipped through the calendar, thinking about that plot of land which would probably be unable to be cultivated soon. The vegetables for home and the restaurant, all came from that land; without it, they might have to start buying vegetables.
But there was nothing else to do; the initial intention for that piece of land was to eventually exchange it for a building.
These past few days, she had still been thinking about these matters, but once busy, everything else slipped her mind. The custom dresses she had shipped out to celebrities were greatly appreciated, and it was decided that they would work with her long term even though she wasn't a famous designer. Within the industry, however, she was gradually gaining a reputation. Her designs and ideas suit the local complexions and temperaments better than some foreign brands.
No wonder, just for one dress, sometimes the price can be tens of thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands. Designing is her hobby; she isn't forceful about it, but once she takes on a project, she treats it meticulously. Thus, she isn't aware that she has quite a good reputation in the industry.
Once she got busy, she would forget other things, including designing, and the kids, especially Little San, who is extremely delicate even though he is a boy. Everyone says boys should be raised toughly and girls delicately.
But Little San's face looks prettier than a little girl's and to raise him toughly would require some resolve. Initially, you might think to just let him be and he would learn after crying a while, but who could really have the heart to do this when he looks at you with those sad eyes, large dark pupils, fair delicate cheeks, tiny soft lips, tearing up and raising his tiny fists asking to be held? Even Mr. Li, who has been tough all his life, can't help but hold him tenderly to comfort him, as if fearing to distress his little grandson. Little San's face is so fine that perhaps there's no need to toughen him up.
Qin Xiangnuan then sketched a few more designs, looking back at the three little ones sleeping in their small cradle. It was noon, their naptime, and usually, this was when the house was the quietest. The three could sleep for three or four hours, giving the adults a bit of rest after a day of agitation.
She put away her designs, walking over, feeling even she had become biased; naturally, she looked at Little San first.
Although they were triplets, Little San indeed did not resemble his brothers much. Daxuan and Xiao Xuan were beginning to show resemblance to Jian Zhiqing, with fine features and starry eyes, but Little San was different, with a pointed chin, tiny nose, and soft pink lips, excessively beautiful and also not resembling her at all, much prettier than even his mother, and certainly not like Jian Zhiqing. If not for the fact that Little San was truly born to her, she might wonder if she had taken the wrong baby.
Jian Zhiqing entered the room.
"Are they still asleep?" he whispered, afraid of waking the three little tyrants.
Qin Xiangnuan glanced at her watch, "They've only been asleep for less than an hour; we have at least two more hours of quiet," she sighed. "When will these three grow up? But it seems I forgot, they aren't even three months old yet."
Jian Zhiqing walked over lightly, tucking in the children's blankets, his brow furrowing slightly at the sight of Little San's rosy cheeks.
"This child, being too handsome is not necessarily a good thing."
"It's from us, isn't it?" Qin Xiangnuan, too, felt helpless, "He's already born, looking like this, what can we do about it, stuff him back to reshape him?"
Indeed, that little face, Qin Xiangnuan really wanted to pinch it again, the more she looked, the more she wanted to, she couldn't help herself.
Jian Zhiqing quickly caught the hand that was up to mischief, "Be careful, if he wakes up, he'll start crying non-stop," recalling Little San's heart-wrenching cry, Jian Zhiqing felt a headache coming. If he started crying, it was truly hard to comfort him, causing chaos in the whole house. He's so well-behaved when asleep, but once awake, it's almost unbearable.
"Alright, I have something to discuss with you," Jian Zhiqing pulled Qin Xiangnuan out the door, gently closing it to keep the noise from disturbing the three little ones inside, letting them sleep longer while the adults enjoyed some quiet.
Qin Xiangnuan saw the serious look on Jian Zhiqing's face and knew it must be something important.
Jian Zhiqing asked her to sit down, then took out a document from his clothes and placed it on the stone table, "That land is going to be requisitioned for building construction, and notifications have been sent out. A new subway line is planned to be built there, and our five acres are in a golden location, already eyed by numerous developers.
The rest of the land is public, but our five acres are private. You should be prepared, it won't be long before people start negotiating the land price with them. It's going to be a huge sum, I'm not sure exactly how much yet."
Jian Zhiqing had also inquired about land prices, which could be in the millions. They are no longer strangers to such figures; after all, the family's internet cafe brings about a million a year. But if that land were sold all at once, it would be a terrifyingly large sum.
Qin Xiangnuan was not too surprised; she had just recalled that she had been thinking about this very matter these past days, but had forgotten due to recent busyness. Now that it was mentioned again, it brought back memories.
"Brother Jian, let's not take money," Qin Xiangnuan had already decided on the use for that land. Definitely not money; money depreciates, especially in a decade or so when its value would seriously plummet. Keeping money would undoubtedly be the least profitable investment.
"No money?" Jian Zhiqing rubbed Qin Xiangnuan's hair,
