Chapter 202
After Vincent had looked back and forth between the two of them with a half-smile, he said, “Then you guys have a good rest first. I’ll send someone to call you later.” Then he left.
Chu Muxi followed Casey into the room. He opened his mouth and was about to say something when Casey suddenly looked back at him and gave him a silent look.
Chu Muxi pursed his lips and stood there motionless.
He watched as Casey took out something and held it in his hand, then walked around the room several times, inspecting every corner.
In particular, there were several spots where he stayed for a while.
Chu Muxi followed his line of sight as Casey’s eyes lingered on those corners several times.
Chu Muxi nodded, indicating that he understood.
It seemed that even though they were long-term partners, Vincent did not completely trust Casey.
It was clear with Vincent resorting to these little tricks that were far from aboveboard.
After identifying all the hidden irregularities in the room, Casey did not touch them. Instead, he took out another small object and walked over to Chu Muxi.
“Take a rest first. I’ll go lay down for a while. You can lay down here too.” Casey pointed to the sofa that resembled a single bed and handed Chu Muxi a small instrument. “Press it later,” he said in a low voice before stepping back and adding in a louder tone, “Alright, I’m going into the room.”
Chu Muxi walked to the sofa as instructed and said, “I know. I’m a little sleepy too, so I’ll just lay here for a while.” After saying that, he caught Casey’s eye and pressed the button on the instrument.
He immediately noticed that the space around him distorted, and something shifted.
Then Casey suddenly said, “Alright, it’s done.” He walked over and sat down on the sofa.
“What is this?” Chu Muxi shook the instrument in his hand and asked curiously.
“Space Illusion Device,” Casey replied, mentioning a term Chu Muxi had never heard of before. “Now, in their surveillance footage, you’re laying on the sofa, and I’m sleeping in the other room,” Casey added with a smile.
The strange feeling in Chu Muxi’s heart returned, and he stared at Casey intently.
Casey raised an eyebrow. “What’s wrong?”
“You—” Chu Muxi frowned slightly. “Are you really Casey?”
Casey blinked. “Of course. Why?”
Chu Muxi shook his head but felt the unease in his chest grow stronger.
“Do you have anything to say to me? Why did you suddenly activate this space illusion device?” Chu Muxi asked instead of answering.
Casey looked at him deeply and said, “What Vincent showed me today is the first time I’ve seen it. I feel like something is off about him this time. Next time, I have to be more careful. And remember one thing: you must stick close to me and not wander off alone.”
Casey’s tone grew sharper with the last sentence, causing Chu Muxi to scrutinize him again.
“Why are you looking at me like that again?” Casey frowned, sounding annoyed. “You brat, what scheme are you cooking up? I’m telling you; you’d better behave until we get out of here safely. Got it?”
Chu Muxi kept staring at him. After hearing what he said, he suddenly asked, “Is that mermaid kidnapped from Kree Planet?”
“Not necessarily, maybe from—” Casey abruptly stopped speaking, his eyes widening as he stared at Chu Muxi.
Chu Muxi looked at him with a blank expression. “Tell me, who are you?”
